14. High Minded's

10:00 AM. Penthouses.

"Eat, Laurine!" the voice of Xavier's orders forced Laurine to put the bacon back in her mouth.

Xavier crossed his chest as he looked closely at Laurine who was sitting in front of him and it was clear that the woman was very unfeeling to eat.

"I'm full" said Laureine.

"You just ate a little"

"But I'm not hungry"

"I don't care. Finish your food!"

Then, forced again, Laurine devoured the foods made by Xavier. His mouth chewed a long time and his nose occasionally snorted.

"Look. Your body is thin like this. I got a report that your portion of food is very small. You also sometimes miss your lunch because you are busy working. You even fainted. From now on don't be like that anymore. I'll make sure you eat right myself" Xavier's cerocos.

"Don't be like that. Your considerate attitude makes me even more hopeful" Laurine's great-grandson quietly, but her mutter can still be heard by Xavier.

Then Xavier just nodded and stared at the focus of Laurine who was eating breakfast as she ordered without further objection. Followed by Xavier who also began to eat a plate of beef eye eggs, bacon, and toast the results of his cooking earlier.

"Your homemade food is delicious" complimented Laurine.

For a moment Laurine was stunned and her chewing stopped. Realize it is right if the person Xavier meant was himself. "really? So what did he teach you again?"

Apparently Laurine wants to play around with Xavier reminiscing about their memories first.

Xavier puffed up and returned Laurine's gaze. Afterwards, a thin smile. "There's so much he taught me. Especially I still remember when she taught my feet face to smile wide and taught my cold heart to feel love. He's a good man. That's why I couldn't believe it when he suddenly turned into a bad person"

Laurine nodded confirming with a slight bow. His arrival in Xavier's life was like a rainbow in the dark night sky. Then Laurine also knows if the consequences of the problems she did make Xavier's life that was originally bright to be dark again.

However, Lauren could not do anything else either. Because the rainbow he carried as before was no longer there. Even Laurine's life is now much darker. There was only loneliness, fear, and guilt surrounding his heart.

Lauren's mood is deteriorating. His head lowered and his hands were just staring at the food which made Xavier feel annoyed.

"Eat properly or I myself will bribe you by force!" Xavier's threat.

"What if I turn myself in to Dominic?" sela Laurine changed the subject.

The sound of the spoon being placed on the plate was roughly heard echoing. Just now Xavier was about to feed the food into his mouth, but Laurine's words immediately made his intention become stalled with a heart of emotion.

"Give me to Dominic!"

Laurine repeated her words straightforwardly while keeping the spoon that was originally in her grasp and turned to look at Xavier boldly.

"What do you mean?!" furious Xavier cast a sharp glare.

"Today's events show that Dominic is furious at his cousin's killer. I'm sure that since that incident she has always bothered you for thinking you were Helena's killer" Laurine said in a quieter voice this time.

Laurine sighed softly before continuing.

"I heard your conversation with Marcus. Tonight you and your men plan to attack Dominic for what happened to me yesterday. Rather than do something dangerous again, you better just hand me over and your enmity will end"

"The problems between me and Dominic are due to business competition alone. My nightclub stands across from his nightclub. That's all it is. Don't think of anything!!"

"You think I don't know? The cause of the trouble between you and Dominic is me. Actually I can't stand to keep hiding behind you like this. I don't want to live with guilt. So, let me atone for my sin on the late Helena by surrendering. To protect yourself from Dominic as well"

Then Xavier moved from his seat. Stripped his legs before finally kicking the dining chair to collide with the table.

"Before Dominic kills you, I'll kill him first! You told me yourself last night that he had tied your body yesterday, strangled you, even uttered a word full of abuse! I can't accept you being treated like that, Laurine! Try understanding! It's about my feelings!"

"He's not wrong, Xavier. I'm wrong here for killing his cousin. He should be angry and want revenge"

A rough sigh came out of Xavier's mouth. "But you did it to save me" Xavier's voice swallowed as he stood up and his gaze remained fixed on Laurine.

"Even if I still don't understand because you've always hidden that excuse, I will retaliate by protecting you as well as a form of my gratitude to you. I'm so grateful" continued the man.

Then Lauren smiled. "alright. I appreciate your gratitude to me. However, you can thank me in another way. It's not doing anything dangerous. Cancel your plans to avenge Dominic. Because this cycle of events will not end if one of us does not want to end it. Revenge will only result in another revenge, Xavier"

04:21 PM. The Black Clan Headquarters.

Dozens of burly men were seen lined up and were seen preparing in a room of the Black Clan headquarters. Marcus shook his head slowly. "I want to be like that too. But, this was Xavier's absolute order"

"It's so weird. It's not usual that Boss Xavier changes his decision"

Then Marcus nodded in agreement and pensively in a few seconds. "There are only two people who can change Xavier's decision. That's his father. and Laurine" he murmured then screeched and rolled his eyes lazy.

"Bas a slave of love!"

04:38 PM. Penthouses.

"Just this once. If Dominic bothers you again, I really won't forgive him!" xavier and Laurine said, nodding slowly with a faint smile.

The woman grasped one of Xavier's hands so tightly and gently as if to ease Xavier's emotions. While Xavier's other hand was holding his phone which was trying to contact someone while glancing at Laurine who was sitting next to him.

Anyone knows if Xavier is someone who would rather set than be set up. Of course, that doesn't apply to everyone. Because the fact is there are people who can manage Xavier, namely Henry and Laurine.

After threatening to turn himself in to Dominic and tell him the truth about Helena's true killer, Xavier finally follows Laurine's desire to thwart his plans that will attack Dominic. Dominic hasn't raised the call yet. Then Xavier was undaunted by constantly trying to contact several times.

It took several calls until Dominic finally picked up the call.

"Hello?" dominic's voice from across there began to sound and make Xavier immediately bring the phone to the ear.

"It's me" Xavier replied and could already guess if Dominic was very surprised because Xavier knew his phone number.

Of course, because of their status, each of which comes from a dark organization, personal life information is very privacy.

Then Laurine snatched the phone from Xavier. "Of course she's still pretty, even though her aura is very dark" Laureine said.

Within seconds there was no response from Dominic over the phone. But, not long after that a soft ruckus sounded.

"You're still alive, Miss Laurine Jung. I guessed it before. Your girlfriend is Xavier Kim. Even a bullet storm looks like he's about to crash to save you. Ah, if only my cousin were in your position. Seeing Xavier look so protective of you, it makes me want to hurt you even more"

When Laurine was about to speak again, the phone was taken back by Xavier.

"Damn it! Hurting Laurine again, means you're putting the lives of your entire family to me for me to slaughter! You can survive this time, but not if you dare to do something dangerous to Laurine again!"

Then Xavier disconnected the call unilaterally and threw his phone into the pool.

"Control your emotions" Laurine scolds as she grabs Xavier's hands for him to wipe gently.

They hugged each other as if giving support in the form of a soothing feeling accompanied by the sunset ceiling and the wind blew in the afternoon.

"Dominic is just like us. He also has feelings. That's why he was angry to see his family sad because of Helena's murder" said Laureine.

"When you kill him, then you'll make some other people grieve. The grief of the Hwang family about Helena's departure has not disappeared completely. Then if you take away Dominic's life, you'll make them even more sad. It's not just one person you hurt. Think about it too, Xavier"

Xavier just muttered in response then Laurine tightened her arms.

"And how could a good-hearted woman like yourself do such vile things, Laurine?" xavier said inwardly wondering.
