A small town became Vanilla's destination. The city looked peaceful, calm even still had green mountains that made the scenery in the city look beautiful. After traveling for tens of hours, Vanila arrived at the destination. No one would know who he was during his time there because of his forged identity.
The destination was an old house, it was the home of his grandmother's relics. He will occupy that house, he will live simply in that city and be himself. Indeed that was what he wanted, he did not need luxury if he could not enjoy life. Even if he had to abandon the luxuries present, he did not mind at all.
Vanilla breathes the fresh mountain air. Like a dream, he can get the freedom he wants. But all that he can get thanks to the baby in his womb. She promised to live her life well in that place and she was confident she was able to raise her son alone.
Luckily his mother was willing to help him leave when Norman was busy. She did not care about what her brother did because all she wanted was to just get out of the palace and live peacefully. An old house was already visible, Vanila remembered she had been taken to that house by her mother and now she was going to occupy that house.
A servant welcomed his arrival. The maid had served her grandmother for a long time and now lived there and the maid was assigned by her mother to look after Vanilla. Although Vanila said she did not need it but her mother did not want her daughter alone let alone she was pregnant.
"Welcome, Miss. I am Marion, from now on I will serve Miss," said the middle-aged maid.
"Thank you, Marion. Please help" said Vanila.
"Give me Miss's things," Marion took the things Vanila had brought.
"May I go around?" ask Vanila.
"Of course" replied Marion.
Vanilla saw the house, it felt so missed. He remembered there was a swing next to the house. He also remembered the swing was on a large tree. He used to play with Norman on that swing. Vanila stepped to the side of the house, it turned out that the swing was still there.
The phone is taken, Vanila is sitting on the swing. She wanted to contact her mother to let her know, she also wanted to know what her brother's reaction would be when he found out that he was no longer in the palace. She knew her brother must be angry but she hoped that her brother would accept his decision.
"Have you arrived, Vanila?" ask mother.
"Of course, I just arrived" replied Vanila.
"How's it going there, you're sure to feel at home, aren't you?"
"This place is still the same as it used to be, Mom. I must be at home and I'll live my life well here."
"Mommy's happy to hear that, honey. Live well there, and do no more harm."
"I promise I won't, I won't embarrass you anymore and I won't make Norman angry again. I swear to you, so forgive all my mistakes because I've embarrassed you, "without her wanting tears to flow. He had indeed wrongly humiliated them due to the marriage but that was all he could do to gain freedom.
"That's it, no need to discuss. What happened, let it happen. After all, from the beginning we were wrong because we had been holding you back. We won't do that to you again" his mother said.
"What about Norman, Mom. Is he angry that I've run away from the palace again?" vanilla asked to know.
"Of course he was angry" when he heard his mother's words, Vanilla's face changed. She thought her brother must be angry. It seems that after this his relationship with the older brother will be ruined. She was certain that she would no longer be accepted into the Palace by Norman when her brother was already the leader. Now he's completely wasted but it doesn't matter, he knows the consequences of what he's doing and he's going to take the risks as he already has.
"I'm sorry, I'm a useless daughter and sister" Vanila looked down, tears still dripping.
"Why talk like that? Your brother was angry but now he can accept your decision to leave.
"really?" Vanilla raised a face that looked radiant.
"I'm so happy to hear that and I hope Mommy doesn't cheat on me about this so I'm happy" Vanila wiped her tears.
"Of course not, honey. Mommy told you, if Mommy had talked to her about it. If you don't believe it, you better talk to your brother."
"What, no!" turn down Vanila, but her mother gave Norman her phone.
"Why don't you want to talk to your brother?" ask Norman.
"Don't I, I thought you were?" Vanilla stopped her speech.
"I'm really mad at you, Vanilla. I heard everything from Mommy. I really wanted to hit you for your crazy behavior but you ran away!" said Norman.
"I-I'm sorry, I know what I did wrong but I have no other way to keep me from getting married."
"It turns out you know what you're doing wrong. If you don't admit your mistake then I'll go to pull you back!"
"Norm!" the voice of his mother.
"I'm really sorry, Norman. I didn't mean to embarrass you. I just want to?"
"I'm sorry, Vanila," Norman said. Vanila was shocked to hear the apology from her sister. Vanila was silent, so she didn't know what to say.
"What Mommy said is very true, I was too hard on you all this time. I shouldn't have held you back but the fear and trauma of Emely's death haunts me so I don't want you to experience what Emely went through without knowing if what I did was destroying you and taking away your freedom. I just want to be the big brother who can protect his little sister but I made a mistake!"
Vanila's tears flowed back, she didn't know her brother had any trauma. Her brother's nature changed drastically when she returned from London but she didn't know her brother had brought back a deep wound.
"I'm sorry, Brother. I'm useless as your sister" Vanila said in between sobs.
"How long have I not heard you call me that? I even forgot the last time you called me brother" Norman said.
Vanilla's tears began to flow more and more, the mother who heard their conversation cried. She preferred her daughter's son's relationship like that and now, their relationship was already like a big sister in general.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you had trauma" Vanila said.
"Stupid, I should be the one apologizing. Forgive me for not being your brother. Just one thing I want, don't make any more mistakes and live well. Take good care of my niece-to-be and don't forget to give us the news."
"Sure, I won't let you down a second time."
"Good, do what you want to do. I'm not going to ban you from doing anything wrong again."
Vanila smiled, her eyes fixed on the blue sky that stretched. His feelings felt light, now he had obtained permission to live freely and of course he would not do crazy actions anymore especially he already had something valuable that he had to take care of.
Vanila is still talking to her family and now she is talking to her father who of course the father asks Vanila to live well. Swing played, Vanila swung with a feeling of excitement. His eyes were still not separated from the blue sky, inwardly saying a farewell word to a man who had been present in his life because he would not meet that man again for good.
