Abraham was very astonished because Vanila was sitting pensively in front of the window doing nothing. Usually Vanila would sleep let alone still early in the morning but today she is not as usual. Vanilla's facial expression was also unusual.
Vanila looked glum, like she had something to think about and that was the case. All of that was because of the people she believed her brother's people were. He had a feeling that he would be caught soon even though he denied it but the fear haunted him so that he could not sleep.
Abraham did not want to interrupt but he was very curious to know what really happened to Vanilla. Although he did not want to interfere but his curiosity defeated all his ego.
Abraham went to Vanilla, and he sat down with Vanilla. A faint smile adorned Vanilla's face as she turned to look at Abraham but it did not last long.
"What's wrong? Why don't you look moody like you used to?" ask Abraham.
"Ti-Nothing," Vanila tried to smile yet she couldn't hide what was going on with her at the moment.
"Don't cheat, Vanilla. You're not usually like this, so tell me what happened to you!"
Vanilla was silent, she did not answer at all. Abraham was more astonished, did Vanila not want to say anything because they were strangers? Without a doubt Abraham embraced Vanila's shoulder because he wanted Vanila to share it with him.
Although Vanila looked surprised but Abraham pulled her closer so that Vanila could lean on his shoulder.
"Tell me what happened to you, were you fired from your job?" Abraham tried to be gentle even his hands were unceasingly rubbing Vanilla's head.
"No," somehow he felt Abraham could be a place to share even if only for a moment.
"Then? Tell me what's going on. I'm here to hear your complaints, Vanilla. So there is no need to hesitate and share with me" said Abraham. At least he can be useful while there and can be an entertainer when Vanila is in trouble.
"Thank you, Rick."
Abraham's hand never stopped playing Vanilla's hair, he thought Vanila would say what happened but in fact he was silent a thousand languages. Of course Vanila could not tell the truth because she had been deceiving Abraham all this time.
"Why silence?" Abraham waited, but Vanila kept quiet, "Aren't you really willing to share with me?" ask again.
"Me?" Vanila looked down and was reluctant.
"Maybe I can help you, Vanila. All this time I've been very kind to me, so it's time I helped even if I could."
"I just want a freedom, Rick," Vanila's gaze glared, staring at the wind-blown foliage out there.
"You mean?" Abraham did not understand. Is anyone holding Vanilla? But isn't he alone without family and relatives so who's holding Vanilla back so he wants freedom? He was not a prisoner either, and he did not understand Vanilla's wishes.
"If freedom can be bought with money, then I will buy it" said Vanila, breathing heavily again exhaled.
"Since the past I have wanted so much as a bird that can fly freely wherever it wants. I want to be like the wind that blows without a single one that can prevent where I am going. What does it mean to live if everything you want to do always gets a fight? Life like that doesn't mean anything, Rick. You are always treated as a valuable item that is easily broken, whatever you do is always considered wrong. Is not death better than such a life?"
Abraham was silent, indeed he did not understand all the words of Vanilla because the words he spoke at this time were very contrary to what Vanilla had said to him so far.
Living in a tight fit is not fun. Before escaping, he always tried to rebel and sneak out of the house at night to find friends. His word if he's a former racer isn't a figment because he's a former street racer. Surely his family found out that an unreasonable decision they made for him and because he did not accept it, he fled.
"I don't understand what you're saying, Vanilla," said Abraham.
Vanilla smiled, of course Abraham would not understand. She really became a naughty and determined girl because she was always restrained.
"Don't think, don't take my words seriously."
"What do you mean?"
"That's a poem I made. What do you think, the poem I just made is good or not?"
"Poetry?" Abraham was visibly upset that he took Vanilla seriously.
"Yeah, it's just poetry" Vanilla said, lying so that Abraham would not suspect.
"Don't mess around, Vanila!" abraham was upset.
"Don't be mad, Rick. Thank you for listening to my ugly poem," Vanilla turned to kiss Abraham on the cheek.
"You? I thought you were serious!"
"I don't have a family, remember?"
"Ck, I'm serious but you're reading a poem!" abraham said, but he was sure Vanilla was serious. I don't know what's going on and I don't know what Vanila's hiding. That girl is really mysterious.
"I want to sleep" said Vanila. He was about to move but Abraham held his hand.
"I'm with you!"
Vanilla looked at Abrhama, as did Abraham. They stared at each other in silence. Abraham pulled Vanila closer, his hand was already on Vanilla's face at that time. Since they had already done so, they kissed without hesitation.
This time a little different from the one at that time, Vanila felt that the kiss they did was more memorable. Abraham's hand moved on his back, trying to find his lost memory of the kiss they had.
Vanilla's face blushed as Abraham rubbed his face, another memory he would never forget. Abraham invited her to lie down on the long sofa they were sitting on right now. Maybe by hugging Vanila there he will also get something.
"Sleep, I'll hug you and wake you when the time comes" Abraham said. His hands were endlessly playing Vanilla's hair.
"Thank you" Vanila smiled. Everything they do will be remembered. Abraham's hand rubbed, his warm embrace, he would definitely remember it let alone he knew if what they were doing right now would never be repeated.
Which will happen, though, let it happen that surely he will make the best use of time as long as their togetherness as it is still going on because a bird in a cage like himself will definitely be caught and returned to a cage that does not give freedom to him.
