CHAPTER 55

The story is still flashback.

     After returning home from the seminar, Budiono looked for his son's whereabouts inside the house. Because he knew that Gunawan must be home. His heart was furious, wanting to ask Gunawan for an explanation of that truth.

" Mirgin....!" He shouted as he entered his son's room. 

     But the boy was not in his room. Budiono returned down the stairs to the backyard of the house, where his son spent his free time. There too he could not find it. 

" Where did the boy go ?"

     Budiono looking for his household employees, maybe some of them know.

" Bik, know where Gunawan is ?" Ask an employee who was ironing in a room near the backyard.

" So Den Gunawan was in Madam's room, sir."

     Hearing the reply from the employee, Budiono immediately ran towards the top floor. As soon as he entered the room he saw Gunawan was feeding his mother.

" Gunawan anyone want Papi to talk about ?" The seriousness of Budiono's voice.

" Is it true that you've impregnated people's children ?!" Budiono immediately asked the subject.

" What does Papi mean ?"

" So there was a father who claimed that his son had been pregnant by you." Budiono stared intently at Gunawan.

" Is that really Gunawan ?" The goddess was shocked by the news brought by her husband.

" It's slander, Pih. Gunawan never did that immoral action !" Gunawan defended himself because he did not accept the allegations discussed by his Papi.

" Then do you know a girl named Maya ?"

" Gunawan has a friend named Maya. Why is it ?"

" He was pregnant, and confessed that you were the one who impregnated him !"

    Like being struck by lightning, Gunawan was surprised by the news. She didn't think Maya was pregnant.

" Papi's sure that Maya's pregnant again ?"

" His father met Papi, and told him that Maya was your lover. She is pregnant now. And hold you accountable, to marry her."

     The words of Budiono seemed to enter the left ear and out of the right ear. Not a single sentence stuck in Gunawan's brain.

" Wait Gunawan isn't your lover Diana ?" Dewi is confused because Gunawan's girlfriend is Diana who happens to be the son of her friend.

" Yes Mih, Gunawan's girlfriend is Diana. And Maya is Diana's best friend." 

" Then how can Maya be your girlfriend ?" The goddess asked because she didn't understand.

" Gunawan is not Maya's boyfriend. Gunawan also rarely interacts with him."

" Gunawan only met Maya when Diana was playing with him."

" And about her boyfriend Maya. Gunawan doesn't know either."

    Gunawan continues to talk about his relationship with Maya who is not so close to him.

" If Papi doesn't believe me, I'll call Diana and ask her to bring Maya here."

     Hearing that Budiono felt somewhat afraid to meet Maya. The son of the man who died on the emergency stairs. His sweat began to seep out on his forehead.

" Mommy agrees, it's better we talk about this issue together. To finish quickly."

    Gunawan called Diana and asked her to come to his house with Maya. Now Diana, Maya, and Saints who happened to be playing with Diana, all sat in the living room at the Budiono house.

" Maya is it true that you are pregnant with Gunawan's child ?" Ask Budiono once everything has gathered.

    Hearing that not only Diana was Gunawan's girlfriend who was shocked, but Saints who were their best friends were both equally surprised. Now all eyes were on Maya who nodded her head.

   Seeing that confession, made Diana in disbelief and looked at Gunawan with a wounded look because she felt betrayed.

" When we're going to the top. You raped me !!!" Maya's crying broke.

    Hearing that, everyone who was there was shocked in disbelief and looked at Gunawan for an explanation.

" When and where did I do that to you ?" Gunawan's voice is rising.

" Night at night in the forest behind the villa where we stayed !" Maya answered with a sigh.

" That's impossible. Because on that night Diana's asthma recurred I kept it until morning and immediately took Diana to the Hospital." Answer Gunawan.

    Suci also confirmed what Gunawan said, because he was also with the two of them. The escort teacher asked the Saints to take care of Diana with Gunawan.

" You wrote a message on paper and asked me to come to the back of the villa at ten p.m."

" And I have a witness that you came that night and raped me !"

" Who is the witness ?" Diana asked not to accept her lover being accused like that.

" Joni. He saw Gunawan coming to the back of the villa. And there's evidence left behind that Gunawan's there."

    Budiono asked Gunawan to solve the problem. Gunawan is looking for Joni who somehow lost his body in the swallow of the earth, because there is no news about him when he came to his house.

" Pih, I want to go to Bandung. A friend told me Joni was in Bandung at her father's house."

" Who are you going to go with ?" Ask Goddess.

" Only Mih. It just so happens that Gunawan knows the area."

    Gunawan went to his father Joni's house in Bandung, riding a motorcycle. But when Gunawan arrived at noon, there again - again Joni was no more. The maid said Joni's been gone since morning.

    When on the way back to Jakarta, the motorbike that was driven broke down. He was confused because the workshop was still far from where he was now. He saw a car passing there. Then he stopped it.

" I'm sorry, Sir. I can ride, my bike broke down. If it's not wrong on the way there's a workshop." Gunawan really hopes that people who have cars will let him come along.

" Can. The motorbike key take it first !"

Gunawan obeyed what he was told. Before he gets in the car.

" Oh yes, my name is Gunawan Dijaya, sir."

" My name is Yusuf Abdulmalik and he's Cloud." Joseph introduced the man who was sitting in the steering chair.

" Where is the plan going ?"

" Go back to Jakarta ."

" Oh. What are you doing here, why are you alone in Bandung ?"

" Finding a friend who's on the run !"

" Why did your friend run away ?" This time the cloud asked.

" He had slandered me, saying that I had raped our schoolmate. And I want to ask him for an explanation. Why did he confess to witnessing that I was the perpetrator of the rape !"

" So Ade's looking for a missing person, huh ?" Joseph asked the handsome young man sitting next to him.

" Yes, sir."

" It just so happened that the person sitting in front of it was a policeman. You just ask him for help ?"
