CHAPTER 38

Today, as planned, Alex and Arthur came to meet Ja'far. They met Ja'far in his office, to discuss further talks last night. Ja'far told him everything that Arga told him last night, which was about an accident that was allegedly a premeditated murder committed by someone who resulted in the deaths of Joseph and Khadijah.

" To be honest, I didn't know that Joseph was always followed by someone. Since he never told me ", Ja'far felt guilty for his ignorance of his brother-in-law at that time.

" Is there perhaps a business rival who is vengeful to him ?" Ask Alex.

" All I know is that Joseph was a kind and friendly man. He does not like to impose his will on others ",

" Even he was always attentive to others" Arthur recalled Joseph.

" Whether there was an incident involving him either directly or indirectly", Alex surmised.

" I don't know. Joseph had amnesia. She doesn't remember who she was in her past before meeting our family" Ja'far replied.

" So Joseph could not remember a single thing about who he was ?" Ask Arthur.

" Yes, that's where he named his children "Ja'far smiled when he saw Alex's face as if in disbelief.

" Maybe it was Joseph's name before ?! ", Arthur's guess.

     The sound of Ja'far's office door being knocked. Then entered his secretary, and told him that there was a guest named Andi Darmawangsa who wanted to meet him.

     This made him startled, as the person who had just been talked about came alone to his office. He immediately asked his secretary to bring Andi into his office.

" Good to meet you, sir ?" Andi said while shaking Ja'far's hand as soon as he entered.

" same - same. How are you doing ?" Ja'far welcomed Andi's hand.

" My situation is good" Andi said kindly.

" I came here to discuss what you were talking about on the phone last night", Andi explained the meaning of his arrival.

" Oh. Then let's talk the same ?!" take Ja'far with you while sitting on the sofa to receive guests.

Andi fell silent and looked at Alex and Arthur who were sitting on the long sofa. Ja'far understood what Andi's view meant to the two of them.

" It's okay, sir. Meet this Mr. Arthur and his son, Alex ",

" Hello lord Andi is pleased to meet you", Arthur stood up and stretched out his hand.

" It's good to see you too", Andi received Arthur's hand.

" We are also talking about Joseph ".

" What will you tell us ?" Ja'far started the conversation.

" I'm sorry because last night I lied to Mr. Ja'far. That do not know what - what about the accident that happened to Joseph "Andi took a breath for a moment.

" Because I'm afraid that our conversation on the phone is being tapped by someone " explained Andi and that made Ja'far surprised.

" What do you mean, sir ?"

" Yes, ever since I investigated Joseph's death. I continue to feel being watched by someone ".

" Mister Andi why are you investigating Joseph's death?", Arthur asked out of curiosity.

" That's because, my son wants to marry his lover. Who turns out to be the daughter of Joseph ", answered Andi. 

     And it makes Alex snort feel dislike when Andi mentions Cantika is the lover of Arga, his son. Even if it was true that way at the time.

" I'm looking into the cause of Joseph's death. Because I knew that Joseph was always stalking him. Where he went, someone always followed him. At first I suspected why Joseph was always followed by someone. When I spoke to him, he didn't know why anyone was always following him. And when he asked the police for protection because he was going somewhere. The police escorting him died. And it was allegedly killed by the perpetrator ", Andi noticed the three people who were silent listening to his story.

" When Yusuf was going to Surabaya, I banned him. And asked his assistant to replace him at the opening ceremony of the new Dept.store branch there. But he insisted on going there because he had promised to meet someone ",

" When I heard the news of his death from an accident, I took it for granted ".

" I who do not know Joseph's past try to find out about him. Because I don't want Arga to marry a woman from a family that's not right ", 

" I'm sorry I didn't offend your family, Mr. Ja'far. I just want to know what Joseph is from a good family - well. Because there was an incident that he was always followed by others ", Andi said, hunting when he saw the look of Ja'far's face turned disliked.

" And I just got some information from someone I've been working with in finding out about the accident. Actually it was not an accident because the driver was sleepy. But it was a deliberate accident to eliminate Joseph ", Andi revealed the information.

" Do you know who was behind the accident ?" ask Alex.

" Rudely already. But the concrete evidence that could ensnare the perpetrator does not yet exist ", Andi set his sights on Alex.

" What is the background motive of the perpetrator, do that ?" Alex asked again.

" I think to shut Joseph up, knowing the crime he had committed ", though there was a less certain tone Andi speculated.

" What evil has he done, until Joseph had to shut his mouth" this time Ja'far asked.

" It's a big crime that could make him lose something valuable in his life" Andi said.

" Therefore, he must eliminate Joseph immediately. So that the crime is not exposed "Andi continued.

Hearing Andi's words, they all fell silent in disbelief.

" What crime has he committed ? " Ja'far asked with a sharp look.

" Murder !! "
