CHAPTER 24

Cantika ran out of the Hotel Artemis where her lover's engagement party was held. It was unlucky for him to be outside there was no taxi there, let alone the drizzling rain began to fall in the middle of the night. He's running towards the crossroads maybe there's a taxi there. But it looks like that night all the taxis were out of service. The time almost showed midnight and the rain was getting heavier on the earth. Cantika walked gontai under heavy rain, tears that came out of her beautiful eyes mixed with rainwater. The sound of her crying was covered by the sound of rain.

     Alex drove the car slowly, because the rain was so heavy and reduced his visibility. He actually wanted to go to Papa Khalid's house to stay there. And there are some things to talk about. Seen from across the street the figure of the woman who always makes him pound. Alex tried to call out to him, but his voice was swallowed by the sound of rain. Because of the position he was on the opposite lane plus it was a one lane road. So Alex pulled the car over and came out running towards Cantika. 

"Antika ...!" alex shouted while running.

     Cantika stopped her way when she heard someone calling her. Alex rained and ran towards him. 

"What are you doing in the middle of the night and the rain?" Alex asked as soon as he got in front of Cantika.

     Cantika's eyes were reddened by crying. Just as Cantika was about to lower her head, she held both of Cantika's cheeks and made her head rise again. He saw tears mixed with rain on the beautiful face of the woman he loved.

"Why are you walking in the rain like this?" ask again because he has not received an answer from the woman in front of him.

"You go home but there is no taxi" replied Cantika.

"Then come on, I'll drive you home!" take Alex.

     Cantika agrees, and follows Alex who walks beside her. Without him noticing that their hands were holding each other.

     When entering the car he saw a wet Cantika shirt printed clearly on his body, even though wearing a robe and hijab. Then, Alex took the coat that was kept in the back seat.

"It's wearing!" Alex handed over his coat.

     Cantika also wears a coat that is great in his body. He felt drowned in that coat. The distinctive fragrance of the man immediately smelled. Somehow his feelings improved a little after smelling the fragrance from his coat. Cantika also quietly continued to breathe a fragrant smell that made her feel relaxed.

"Where are you out of these nights?" ask Alex while driving.

"Attending Arga's engagement party," Cantika replied in a soft voice, but could still be heard by Alex.

"What?" Alex was surprised to hear that.

"Is she engaged to the fox lady who came to the cafe this afternoon?" alex asked, pulling the car over. Because it is too dangerous to drive while talking something important, plus heavy rain.

"Yes. And most frustratingly he promised to try to thwart the engagement, but in fact they will get married next month." Cantika was still crying with a holding voice.

     Alex felt his heart ache to see the woman he loved cry. But in the corner of his heart there was pleasure because his rival was no longer there.

"Is his love for you just that much?

"He should fight and be willing to sacrifice anything for the woman he loves!" Alex started to frown.

"Of course Arga loves me very much and he asked me to be patient waiting for him. Because he's about to break off his engagement to that woman.

"And what he sacrificed for me was so much!

"And he also said that he had to continue the engagement to protect me!" Cantika is angry at Alex who she thinks knows nothing.

"So she's under the threat of the fox woman?" Alex looked at Cantika.

"Maybe?" cantika replied while wiping away the tears that had soaked her cheeks.

"The Arga is weak, isn't it? The same woman loses!" Alex spoke as if to mock Arga.

"Oh ..., it turns out that the backing of influential people?" Alex nodded his head.

     Alex drove Cantika home. When the door opened, Cantika fell unconscious. Fortunately Alex was still standing next to him so desperate and did not fall to the floor.

"Cantika, hey let's get up! Be aware!"

Alex tries to wake Cantika up by patting her cheek, but is not conscious. Cantika's body was so cold, maybe it was too long under the rain.

     Alex finally carried Cantika to his room which was on the top floor. He laid Cantika's body on the sofa in the room. Then, he called out to Gaya, but there was no telling from her.

"Oh my God, how is this?" alex shouted in panic.

     Filled bathtub with warm water tends to be hot. Then, Cantika put him there. Alex is confused, having to undress Cantika. Steady on his mind, Cantika's business is angry because it has seen his body is a business lately. In his heart he kept praying so that he would not be tempted by the whispers of the devil. Alex really had to resist his desires when their skin touched each other.

     After finishing soaking in warm water, Cantika lay on her mattress. Wearing a nightgown and a thick sweater, then rolled up a thick blanket. His body temperature quickly returned to normal.

      Alex tried calling Gaya many times, but not in the lift. It is impossible for the self to leave the sick Cantika alone.

"Hello, Gil can you come here. There are patients who experience Hypothermia "Alex contact his friend who works as a doctor.

"I sent the address via SMS." Alex ended the conversation.

After the doctor examined the state of Cantika and put the infusion liquid on his hands. Alex can breathe a sigh of relief. Finally he sat on the sofa in the room, accompanying Cantika until tomorrow morning.
