So why do we need end-life support? usually asked when the treatment provided feels futile or futile care in the intensive care unit (ICU) this is still a topic that is often debated. In addition to unclear definitions, decisions about when a medical treatment begins are considered to be unprofitable and should be stopped ethically is still a controversial topic. There are even patients who have expressed their personal desires related to end of life support before the condition worsens, then the decision-making process withholding or withdrawing therapy is usually not too charged to the patient's family. However, the patient's family needs to remain involved in the discussion.
