A few days later after Operation Tiberiu.
Clement's POV
The news of Operation Tiberiu was cancelled, spreading widely throughout the cities of Steich. Not a few also citizens who can not accept it so that it raises the pros and cons in society. Clement should be happy to clarify again because of the cancellation of Operation Tiberiu clearly through a press conference yesterday. However, it still caused a lot of opposition so they were willing to threaten Clement by all means.
The operatives, who survived the demon attack, are being treated by Amdis medics who work with Greer's team from across the alliance. Of the many who participated in the operation yesterday, now half are still alive.
The basement that had been prepared by the Amdis Military Police was diverted into a body shelter for the victims of this operation.
Clement sighed while staring at the clear afternoon sky. His right fingers touched a cup of black tea. The cold slowly turns warm due to the heating device that is activated in this room.
This room is Lucian's workspace that has been entrusted to Clement. Without her being present here, it made the atmosphere of this room even quieter than usual. That made Clement miss his moments with her.
Now Clement was venting the accumulated fatigue in his brain by sipping tea and staring at every moving cloud in the sky. Enjoying his own time which he rarely found since he began to be busy lately.
TOK TOK TOK
Time itself is immediately disturbed by someone from outside the room. However, Clement must remain patient because it is impossible for him to truly enjoy the time at his growing age.
"Lake in!"
Suddenly someone entered the room and managed to get Clement's attention diverted to the form of the man who turned out to be Olav as the commander of the Garrison. Himself while carrying a pile of neatly arranged paper.
"It's so bright outside!" he said as he sat on one of the empty chairs beside Clement and placed a pile of paper on the wooden table between them.
Clement was still silent while sipping black tea.
"How are you?" ask Olav.
"Not good," replied Clement flatly. His eyes are still staring at nature out there.
"What's the situation outside?" ask Clement.
"Some people are still gathered at the gates of the alliance headquarters" Olav replied. "They're being appeased by the police."
"Can I have tea?"
"Alright, but you make it yourself" replied Clement tightly.
"Of course!" exclaimed Olav moved from his sitting position which he had not been sitting for long. He stepped towards a special place, where a cup as well as hot water and a box of black tea were.
"I haven't had tea in a long time."
Clement ignored Olav who was busy making black tea for himself.
He let out a long sigh as he placed his teacup on the wooden table. Instantly his gaze was fixed on the neatly arranged stack of paper beside his cup.
"Reports regarding the development of the island of Steich during Operation Tiberiu took place" explained Olav, carrying his tea cup and returning to an empty seat beside Clement. He saw Clement grabbing a neat stack of paper that he had placed on the small wooden table earlier.
Clement looked at every sentence on the paper.
"They took advantage of this moment to take control of more small human cities" Olav explained. "Small towns in the West, East, and North were largely controlled by them."
"The city of Salz was overrun by them at night, coinciding with the attack on the Amdis Alliance."
Olav explained at length about the information from the sheets of the paper.
Now Clement is again faced with a trial that concerns the life of mankind. He was forced to temporarily replace Lucian until he woke up.
"The position of the human race is currently under siege and lest they manage to take control of any major cities other than the City of Salz!" olav said while sipping black tea.
"After we investigated further, it turned out that there was someone from the Oryza Alliance who proved to be a spy from the demons."
Clement directly replace the next sheet. There he saw someone's data.
"FAVIAN GALEN"
"Is this what you mean?" ask Clement while pointing the sheet to Olav.
Olav nods. Then he said, "He's an academy with Nica Rosabelle."
"Based on information directly from Nica, Galen is best friends with Rin who is proven a traitor as well."
Both views of Clement rounded reading every sentence listed on the sheet.
"That's why the demons easily know our strategy."
"That's surprising!" said Clement.
"But fortunately he was dead" Olav said.
"Nica killed him."
Instantly he recalled the events that befell the Amdis Alliance when he got word that the Azalea Alliance and the Tigris Alliance were in danger. Soon, they arrive wearing masks and a hooded figure, which turns out to be Galen Favian of the Oryza Alliance, who proves to be a traitor after Rin. At full speed, he instantly killed several members of the Amdis Alliance as well as ambushed Nica. Although the figure moves quickly, Clement still remembers his face even though it is covered with a black mask.
His gaze looked at Clement with a sharp gaze.
Shortly after that sudden ambush, Nica returned in her half-demon form with many splashes of blood on her face and clothes. Makes him look like a psychopath.
His face revealed a different smile this time.
A horrible smile.
"Sorry, old," he said. His smile has always surrounded Clement's mind until now.
"Clement?" Olav disperse Clement's daydream.
Instantly Clement turned his gaze towards Olav who was looking at him in wonder.
"M—sorry, well let's continue our conversation."
There was a momentary silence between the two of them.
"I know your position is very heavy" said Olav suddenly. "Especially Lucian was completely unconscious."
"Yes I know," said Clement.
"Being a leader is hard."
"Where must you use all the potential of your brain to set the right strategy to achieve the success of an effort to save humanity."
"Unsurprisingly, Lucian was often alone in his room while reading many books to calm his mind" Clement continued. His gaze was sidetracked by the bright cloudy afternoon sky.
"When I take his place."
TOK TOK TOK
Suddenly the sound of knocking on the door was heard clearly. The voice managed to make the two of them gaze towards the source of the sound.
"Lake in!" said Clement.
Clement's men immediately entered the room with a panicked look.
"M—maaf interfered before, Commander Olav and Commander Squad Clement," the man said.
"We have received a mysterious message through the Amdis Alliance radio network!"
Mystery message?

Nica's POV
The clear afternoon sky was cloudy. A gentle breeze that entered through the window slit, gave a gentle sweep in the pores of my skin.
Now I'm alone in the girls' dorm room.
There is no illumination except the illumination from sunlight entering through a wide open window.
It's so quiet here.
I continued to look at the beauty of nature like a painting while holding a pendant of shells that had become a memory. This clam pendant became my friend when I was alone.
I don't know why my desire to talk to people around me decreased.
Is this the effect of feeling sad in my protracted soul?
Am I going to enter the early stages of depression?
This world is driving me crazy.
The world has taken away those closest to me.
Louis, Simas, and Mama Mathilda and the kids. Also the other soldiers who died in the battle against the devil,
They were already in a world full of eternal tranquility. Perhaps they were laughing at me who was struggling against the demons was endless.
I took a long breath.
I sat down while hugging my legs on a fairly cold tile. Both my eyes were still observing the afternoon sky.
My soul drifts in silence.
I miss you guys so much!
Suddenly tears fell right on my cheek. I cried in the middle of silence.
"Hey, there you are apparently!" Suddenly Alexa came into the room and found me.
Both of my eyes immediately turned to the direction that approached me who was sitting staring at the window. I immediately wiped away the tears that had soaked my face. Alexa knows my actions.
"It's okay, Nikki. Cry!" he said with a smile looking at me. His tiny fingers stroked my shoulders.
His presence is right beside me.
The light brown eyes gave a warm impression when I was on the verge of sadness and loneliness. Alexa's face looks like she wants to cry just like me. But he was trying to hold it.
I cried again while covering my face in both palms of my hands. A pattern coming from my tears was clearly formed on the red sleeve of my jacket. At once Alexa immediately hugged me and heard a cry from her as well.
He couldn't hold back his emotions that were already in the crown and now he's venting it along with me.
I can't stand all this. They left me too soon.
Laughter, joy, and jokes have become the most beautiful memories of all time. I'll never forget that. I always remember those moments until I die though.
We have to teach the demons a really hard lesson, Alexa!
Some day. Sure.
