At 19:40
It was a cloudy night in the city of Amdis,
After the dinner.
After dinner, we were all given free time. You can do anything but stay in the base area only.
However, this did not apply to Louis and I as we were both ordered by Commander Lucian to arrive at the meeting room right after dinner. The two of us rushed straight to the meeting room before the meeting was about to start in a few minutes.
At first, I wanted to see Simas about his dinner, but time was not possible and told me to focus on the original goal.
"This is a very important person!" my grunts as I walked down the hallway of the headquarters to the meeting room with Louis.
Quite a lot of people are heading to the meeting room. However, most are squad commanders because they will lead each team in an expedition if it will be held expedition activities again.
Smell of the expedition again nih ....
I don't know why every time I attend a meeting, my heart beats. Maybe it's because of fear.
Worry and the like.
Louis took my hand. He knows how I feel right now. His grasp treated all the worries that were seeping within me. His treatment reminded me of the conversation between me and Squad Commander Clement this afternoon.
--
Last afternoon,
"Welcome back!" he said suddenly without looking at me.
I'm speechless.
Lah, kok?
"I know it's you, Nica!" said. "Sit down!"
I obeyed his order to sit beside him while observing the cold afternoon sky. Squad Commander Clement sipped a cup of hot tea.
"Thank you, Clement."
"Thank you for that?" tanyakanya. The question confused me for a moment.
What, anyway?
"Yes, thank you for telling me to sit here with you" I replied as best I could.
"Would it be to thank you?"
"It is necessary because to show courtesy and appreciate one's kindness."
"Oh," That's all that came out of his mouth.
So unplug him.
There was silence and awkwardness between the two of us.
"Clement, "call me slowly. Feelings of doubt ran inside me. "Anu—"
His eyes are looking towards me. Waiting for my unresolved words. "What?"
"I'm sorry I forced you to tell me about your problem" said I, who tried to be bold. "I'm intending to help your problem but my way is wrong so I've made you mad."
Suddenly he laughed.
Am I joking?
I was confused for a moment.
"You're still thinking about it" he said after he stopped laughing.
"I've even said that in my life."
"Kasie was my mother, but she disappeared without a trace and it turned out ...." Squad Commander Clement had a hard time finishing his last sentence.
"Jan killed my mother."
I was silent a thousand words.
CAPTAIN JAN?
I was really surprised to hear his statement. The Captain Jan I knew was friendly and a jokey person. His behavior during his time at the headquarters did not show any burden in his life.
"You may call me hallucinating or something, but I say the facts!" inexplicably.
"Jan is a genuine demon and he has become a spy to send information about human life to his own people. However, he became increasingly aware of his wrong actions after he mingled with the human environment."
"Therefore, he was willing to fight the powerful demons out there to atone for his grave sins ...."
"I really couldn't believe that Jan was the one doing this" she said. His gaze focused on seeing the orange-colored clouds stir as the wind blows slowly while sipping a cup of tea.
"He was the one who first became my friend in the Amdis Alliance."
"I hope he can come back safely and I can see him again before I die" he continued with a small smile. Expect the arrival of Captain Jan who is currently 'redeeming his sin' out there.
"Your actions brought me back to my mother's memory because on that sheet paper you wrote the name 'Kasie' in binary code, '" she explained. "That's what makes me want to be alone."
"M—sorry, I didn't mean to make you like this,"
"Yes, I already know," he said with a long sigh.
"My mom is in a better place. So I don't have to be sad, "he said trying to toughen up for his life.
"Being alone won't solve the problem, but it will make the situation worse."
"Your boyfriend, Louis," He suddenly mentioned Louis on the sidelines. "He saved me during the joint expedition to Kimo Village yesterday."
"Nica?"
"Hello?" Louis broke my daydream. I immediately woke up and looked at her face beside me.
Staring at me wonder.
"Why?" tanyanya's confused.
"G—no, no."
"Why did I talk to you earlier?"
"I'm sorry I'm just tired" I replied. "So I don't focus on my surroundings."
"Oh" he answered. "Don't scare me!"
The look on his face turned instantly into a frown, like a child that his mother had not bought candy. I looked at him while laughing at the look on his unusual face.
A rare phenomenon.
You super-protective Louis!
Shortly after, as we had unknowingly stepped this far, the two of us arrived at the meeting room that was already filled with people. One of them was the Commander of the Clement Squad also present at this meeting. The round table welcomed our arrival here. Louis and I sat down in the chair.
Commander Lucian in his neat uniform, opened this meeting activity while standing among the attendees.
"Guests, good night everyone!" commander Lucian said without using a mic or other loudspeaker.
"Thank you in advance for taking the time to come" Commander Lucian said. "Okay, I'm opening this meeting!"
"We will discuss about the power of the devil that is increasingly berjarela from year to year."
"This is the development" Commander Lucian threw a piece of today's edition newspaper on a round table. I could not see the paper clearly because of its small size. But it is definitely bad news.
"Our situation is total!" inexplicably. "The Devil conquered all the small towns south of Steich."
"There are many fatalities to this incident."
"It's terrible if left unchecked, then they can take control of big cities!"
Commander Lucian's face panicked.
"Based on my research, they are the Levant race, the invading demon race," said Mr. Geovani as the leading professor of demonology at Steich. "This race must be wary because of its aggressiveness!"
The race owned by Civa.
Suddenly I remembered him.
"We have improved the quality of the Garrison throughout the city to the smallest city as much as possible, but strangely the demons can still enter those cities" Commander Olav said, as the Head of the National Garrison who attended this meeting.
"Because they are stronger than humans" said Mr. Geovani with both hands folded on the chest. "The human success rate is very small."
"We have evacuated some residents along the border of the Homer line who managed to escape the attack of the devil" Commander Olav explained while showing the data of the survivors of the demon invasion.
"It can be counted with the finger."
The alliance was currently on the verge of confusion.
"We immediately handed them over to the medical authorities to be quarantined for physical treatment and overcome their trauma for a period of a month."
"In my opinion, the initial effort to prevent more human casualties in the future, from now on we must appeal to the citizens not to travel to the South" said Commander Morgan of the Yuzu Alliance.
"And for residents who live in areas close to the territory that has been controlled by the devil, the, had to evacuate immediately with facilities from the Garrison who handed over the aid and taken to a safer place."
"Will it not, however, be that these efforts will not fit in with the ever-increasing numbers of human inhabitants in safe cities?" sela Commander Luna, from the Azalea Alliance. "The head is there."
"We will try to compare the population data from one city with another based on existing data before evacuating residents" Commander Olav said.
"I'm sorry, I want to refute!" Suddenly Louis raised his hand. The members who attended the meeting stared at Louis.
"The effort will not work if the creature is still wandering."
"Grandfather."
All the views are towards him.
"It is most likely that his purpose of deliberately wandering in the sea of men as spies was to be presented to his people which caused the small towns in the South to succeed in tripe depleted," obviously Louis with a convincing face.
"If humans living near the demon territory were to be evacuated before finding Tiberiu, then it would most likely be good news for Tiberiu to colonize humans and even because of it, it could be good news, the devil can directly ambush large cities with large populations!"
"They are very keen to hunt human meat for consumption," he explained at length. "We need to be careful!"
"It's exciting!" commander Lucian said with a faint smile on his face.
"How is Tiberiu's current search progress?" ask Commander Lucian to Commander Olav.
"There is no trace at all" replied Commander Olav. "We've been monitoring Steich's radar at the maximum scale but have found no results."
"What about the other alliances?"
"Sama, we found no trace of him" replied Commander Jake of the Oryza Alliance.
"No" replied Commander Franz of the Tigris Alliance.
"Not at all" replied Commander Luna of the Azalea Alliance.
"No," replied Commander Morgan of the Yuzu Alliance.
"We've been watching, but we didn't find any trace of him either!" said Squad Commander Lewis and several other members representing the Amdis Alliance who have been assigned to monitor Tiberiu's tracks via radar by Commander Lucian.
"Oh my God," Commander Lucian sighed immediately.
The members present were also the same as Commander Lucian.
Challenges we have to face.
Humans are on the brink of panic to survive.
"As long as the creature is still around, our attempts to deter the enemy are doomed to fail!" said Squad Commander Hannah.
"Nica," Commander Squad Clement who was sitting only two seats apart from me, called out to me all of a sudden. "Did you bring the binary code paper?"
I checked every pocket on my jacket. I finally found it, though it was a bit broken. Squad Commander Clement gestured me to show it to the entire meeting. I immediately showed it on the round table, allowing the meeting participants to see the contents of this paper.
"This is my 'memory' paper in binary code form" I said. Trying to ventured into public speaking. Let alone talking in front of 'tall' people like now.
"So I actually met Tiberiu under the pseudonym Oliver in
survival game and he's one team with me at that time."
"Survival games?" ask Commander Lucian. All eyes immediately headed towards me.
"A game deliberately made by the devil" I said. "There we must be the only living of so many people who kill each other."
"Does this have anything to do with the loss of human life over the course of 3 consecutive years?" ask Squad Commander Lewis in curiosity.
"Yes, it is" I answered. "They deliberately recruited humans to fight each other and in the end the dead will be used as a supply of meat consumption them."
Suddenly the atmosphere of the meeting became noisy.
"Please don't make noise!" commander Lucian exclaimed telling the members of the meeting to remain calm and keep the meeting atmosphere conducive.
"Once again I reiterate that I am really not interested in human blood or flesh and my purpose remains in my stand to save people," obviously I was to make sure the members of the meeting were still doubtful towards me.
I could feel some scary looks from them.
"There are the names of people I've met, including Clement's mother," I said, pointing at the folded paper on the round table.
"At that time, it was clear Oliver was shot in the head" I explained. "However, in fact he managed to trick his death and roam the human world."
"In what motive did he join the game?" ask Commander Morgan.
"It's still uncertain but I think he just wants to feel the flow of the game in a way disguised as a human being" explained Louis.
"Why did you get into that game?" ask Commander Luna. Instantly I was surprised to hear Commander Luna's question which was directly frontal.
"I don't know, Commander. Sorry."
"Why don't you know when it's obvious you can get into that game!" obviously Mr. Geovani.
Yeah I don't know when to be forced to know, anyway!
"Nica has a poor memory so she can't remember it too deeply" Louis interrupted, saving myself who was further cornered by their questions.
"All right, I'm sorry!" said Mr. Geovani over his over-exaggerated question.
"It's very difficult to look for Tiberiu because the ability of an average demon that can disguise itself as a human is very beneficial to them!" said Squad Commander Illyana who began to despair.
"Based on my research yesterday, I managed to find the difference between real humans and demons who wade as humans" explained Mr. Geovani opens her little notebook.
"In the ability to be exposed to sunlight."
"Devil cannot be exposed to sunlight" continued Mr. Giovani's. "When humans can be exposed to sunlight for a long time."
"Devils can only wander at night. Unlike humans who have to rest at night."
"Also from the way it goes, even though the devil has waded as a human being, but the way it goes still follows their way in the form of a demon" he explained.
"This way is what needs to be considered very carefully because if in the human crowd, it will be difficult to distinguish."
All the members of the meeting seemed to be listening to an explanation from Mr. Geovani.
"I think our search is less than optimal because it is monitored remotely and I think this is also less effective!" Suddenly Squad Commander Clement spoke up.
"We should all focus on watching Tiberiu's movements seriously from this moment on!" said Commander Squad Clement. "The National Garrison will monitor Tiberiu's movements through the radar, but the entire alliance will monitor Tiberiu's movements on the ground through expeditions to areas not yet touched by the devil."
"With this, the search for Tiberiu will go to the maximum and not through the radar of everything."
"But we must keep avoiding the South."
Squad Commander Clement explained at length the strategy that lay in his head. "This strategy must be done secretly so as not to be discovered by Tiberiu."
"Means we're using the 'on the sly' strategy'?" ask Commander Luna while understanding the lengthy statement made by the Commander of the Clement Squad.
"Yes, and one more thing don't get our identity as soldiers!" exclaim Commander Squad Clement.
"First of all, the Amdis Alliance is moving down the North," explained Squad Commander Clement as he strategized by moving the colorful beams over a map of Steich Island that stretched over a round table.
"The Tigris Alliance and the Azalea Alliance are moving through the West" he explained, moving the blue beam to the West of the map.
"Next, the Yuzu Alliance and the Oryza Alliance are moving down the Eastern region."
"For the Garrison, as you monitor Tiberiu's tracks in all regions via radar, as well, as Morgan said earlier that the Garrison also began this second must immediately evacuate the citizens who live close to the demon territory to a safer place."
"It is sought to immediately appeal to all residents not to travel out of the area and Garrison began to implement travel warning in all cities," explained Commander Team Clement. "Not just in the South."
"The operation is simultaneous and thorough. We all have to be ready and fast before they take control of more human areas!"
"Till here anyone wants to ask?" Squad Commander Clement gave an opportunity for meeting members to ask about his proposal.
"Are there really no survivors in the South?" my many.
"It is certain that there is no, because humans cannot survive more than a day in an environment that has been controlled by the devil" replied Commander Squad Clement.
"Only this citizen's name data that we got a few hours after the incident" explained Commander Olav while showing the names of citizens from the South who managed to save themselves.
"After Tiberiu was found, we quarantined him in this city and created a basement complete with light in every corner" he explained. "Because the devil himself is not strong with blinding light."
"The Amdis Military Police will take care of this basement and further security" he added.
"This operation we call 'Operation Tiberiu'."
"Great idea!" commander Lucian said.
"I think this operation can be carried out in the next few days because we as the commander of the alliance must inform all our many men!" commander Morgan said.
"Yes as soon as the devil takes control of the city even more!" said Commander Squad Clement.
"Is there anything I want to ask you again?" ask the Commander of the Clement Squad who gave the meeting members the opportunity to refute and ask his proposal.
"I think this is obvious" replied Commander Luna.
"I agree!" answer the other.
"Well, so this meeting we have found the light point and Clement ..," Commander Lucian said as he looked at the Commander of the Clement Squad.
"You're gonna control the flow of this operation."
Squad Commander Clement fell silent and he replied, "OK."
"From the day after we will carry out this operation," exclaimed Commander Squad Clement with great confidence and a tempestuous spirit.
I can feel him carrying the burden of the success of this mission.
Squad Commander Clement,
You can definitely!
"May this operation be the beginning of our success to bring human welfare on the brink of extinction!" obviously Commander Lucian. "Hopefully luck is on our side,"
"Amen."
"Okay, we're closing this meeting" Commander Lucian said. "Thank you."
The entire meeting member gradually walked out of the meeting room.
Not noticeably after I saw the wall clock, the short needle already showed the roman numeral ten (X).
Suddenly Squad Commander Clement approached the two of us before we exited the meeting room. He smiled at us.
"You guys are great" Commander Squad Clement said with hands touching both of us. He hugged us and astonished us both.
I don't know what got into him all of a sudden.
"Clement?"
Squad Commander Clement let go of his embrace.
"Your head is strong!" commander Squad Clement said to me. "You know when you explain the origin of you being a demon, on average they are immediately shocked to hear you, including the Geovani demon maniac."
"I'm sorry he's too annoying!"
"And you, Louis," said Squad Commander Clement as he looked at Louis. "Your signal is also quite bold by giving rebuttal to someone higher than you."
"Yes I only give a statement that I think is contrary to the future," Louis replied as he gave a faint smile on his face.
"I put hope in your human well-being, plant it!" said Squad Commander Clement while releasing both his hands from our shoulders. We immediately saluted him in front of him.
"Start again," Commander Squad Clement said with a face deliberately made to frown. But in the end, he returned our salute.
"All right, good night!" he continued, gradually leaving the two of us in the crowd.
But before he vanished, I called him and maybe my voice was big enough that some people turned their heads towards me. "Clement!"
Squad Commander Clement turned towards me.
"Spirit!" Using sign language by raising my hand while being clenched.
Squad Commander Clement just smiled at me and replied 'excitement' in sign language. Second—demi—second himself vanished among the human crowd.
After that, we also directly exited the meeting room and headed towards the courtyard of the Amdis Alliance headquarters to seek some fresh air. A very cold night air pierced me who was not wearing a thick jacket. A smoke comes out of my nose every time I breathe out into the air.
I'm sure tonight's weather is minus degrees.
We sat on the stairs and enjoyed the cold air and the cloudy night sky.
For some reason today Squad Commander Clement looks more smiling and happier than ever before.
Or is this just my feeling?
"Louis," call me. Louis looked at me.
"Aware, the Commander of the Clement Squad today is cheaper to smile than before?" my many. "Especially he also hugged us for no reason."
"I also thought so," answered Louis who was as confused as I was. "Maybe he deliberately did it all to forget the incident he experienced yesterday."
"It makes sense, anyway."
"Louis," call me again.
"You saved Commander Squad Clement during the expedition yesterday?"
"He said?" tanyakanya.
I'm nodding. "You're great!"
Louis simply smiled and looked back at the cloudy sky. "I can't forget those moments."
I listened to her who started telling me about the expedition trip yesterday. The story is like a fairy tale to me. Louis is very good at telling stories so that my soul and mind feel the incident.
"I saw the Squad Commander being strangled by a demon and honestly the appearance of that demon made me have nightmares for 3 days in a row" he explained.
"Masa, anyway? That's for."
"Yes, I'm serious!" he said and continued to tell me again. "Imagine his body was filled with the heads of little children writhing against each other."
"Don't follow the demon-like explanation, you'll throw up!" I told him who was beginning to live and imagine.
"OK okay okay. Back to topic!" Louis retold the chronology of the expedition yesterday while living.
"Then a boy came out from behind the underground door and tried to stab me in the heart" he continued.
"HOW DO YOU DO?!"
"Yes I was holding back the action and stupidly I didn't realize that the knife contained poison."
I immediately pulled out both of his hands and looked for his scar. However, I did not find any scratches there.
"You're late" said Louis, smilingly looking at me. "My hands are healed with the help of Alexa and the other Greer teams."
"Stupid!" I said while putting on a pouting face. Suddenly, Louis stroked my hair like a cat.
"I hate you 99%!!" I said while hitting his shoulder slowly.
"1% is dear."
His words made my cheeks instantly blush. I couldn't help it if he started acting like this again.
I'm nyerah.
"As much as you."
Louis just laughed at my behavior. He treats me like a child.
"I'm worried that if your hand has to be amputated, how will you fight the devil if it gets amputated?!"
"There you are, you will save me" he answered easily. "Just like you're gonna save humanity like your vision."
"I don't want to!"
"Must want to!"
I immediately pinched both of her cheeks until she grimaced in pain. However, I ignored him and added to the power of my pinch.
The cloudy night was shrouded with meaningful excitement. Just looking at the sky and the surrounding buildings has made me understand the meaning of life. I was finally able to breathe life back after a month in the cell that tortured me for activities. Now I feel freedom again,
The life I want to feel all the time and not want moments like this to end.
