Chapter 30: Nayla Disease

I walked to my room. I was so tired once plus my head was dizzy. As soon as I entered the room I immediately changed my clothes with more relaxed clothes.

I lyric clock on the wall already at 3 o'clock over I decided to pray first. After the prayer I sat on the bed suddenly my phone rang. I saw the name on the screen of Doctor Alam's phone. I immediately picked it up.

“Assalamualaikum mas,” I said.

“Walaikumsalam, you where can I pick up in the campus you do not keep me phone nor do you lift?” tanyakanya.

“Sorry, I forgot to tell you that I went home first because my head hurts,” I said.

“Now how are you doing?” tanyakanya.

“I'm fine mas,” I said.

“Judah now you rest, tomorrow you leave for college?” tanyakanya.

“Depart,” I said.

“Tomorrow I pick you up yes,” he said.

“Iya,” I said.

“Yaudah if it's assalamualaikum,” said.

“Walaikumsalam,” I answered immediately hung up the phone.

I put my phone on the table. I took my bag to take the medicine that Doctor Nabila gave me. I drink it immediately. After taking the medicine, I decided to take a short nap.

Tock-a-tock

“Nayla wake up!” the voice of Alex calls to me.

I got up to open the door.

“What's up Brother?”

“Come! Eat already awaited mother,” he said.

“Iya,” I said.

I closed my door and followed Brother Alex to the dinner table. My mother was sitting there waiting for us both. As soon as we sat down we took each other's food. Unlike usual this time I took only a little food. I just don't feel the appetite to eat much today. I'm still thinking about my CT scan tomorrow.

“Dek, tumben you eat a little?” ask Brother Alex.

“Iya dear you have to eat a lot!” said Mommy.

“No longer need Nayla not want to eat a lot,” I said.

“Why diet?” ask Brother Alex.

“Not, no more appetite,” I said.

“Yaudah is up to you but vegetable if you laper say Mother let Mother masakin,” said Mother.

“Iya Bun.” I said continue eating.

“Dek, where did you go Alam until your sister's phone kept asking you?” tanyakanya.

“I'm out of the hospital,” I said.

Everyone stopped eating and turned to look at me. “What are you doing in the hospital?” ask Brother Alex.

“Check Sister watch boxing,” I said.

“Don't joke Nayla,” says Mommy.

“Iya sorry, Just dizzy,” I said.

“Keep Doctor Nabila said what?” tanyakanya.

“The results just came out tomorrow but Doctor Nabila also already give the headache medicine to be safe,” I said.

“Gratitude deh,” says Brother Alex.

We continued eating again. After I finished eating, I headed straight back to my room. I know my bag for taking the medicine that Doctor Nabila gave me. I sat on the bed and immediately took the medicine. After taking the medicine, I fell asleep.

I walked towards the Doctor Nature's car. As soon as I entered she greeted me with a smile. I returned that smile.

“We leave now?” tanyakanya.

I nodded and the car left the house. Suddenly I remembered that I had not taken any medicine from Doctor Nabila. I immediately took it from the bag.

“Mas, do you have water?” my many.

“There it is behind,” he said.

“I take ya?” my many.

“Take aja,” said.

I took the bottle of water. After that take the medicine and immediately take it.

“What medicine do you take Nay?” tanyakanya.

“Oh This is just a headache medicine kok.” I said.

“Oh I guess what medicine.” he said back focus forward.

A few minutes later the Doctor Alam car was in front of the campus.

“I go in first mas,” I said.

“Iya,” said.

I got out of the car and ran to class. Classes are crowded with students who have just entered. I sat down at my place Neta came straight to me.

“Nay, How come you are healthy?” tanyakanya.

“Please I'm fine,” I said.

Suddenly Doctor Willy entered all immediately sat in their respective places. Doctor Willy again explained the material in front. After that we were asked to pursue what he gave us.

3 Hours passed Doctor Willy's class finally finished as well. Everyone immediately gathered the task that Doctor Willy had given him earlier. And walk right out of class. I walked with Neta to the cafeteria.

Once we got there we looked for a seat. After that we ordered food immediately.

Mang Cecep walked over to our table.

“Iya mbak want pesen what?” tanyakanya.

“I want chicken noodles equal iced tea,” he said.

Mang Cecep immediately recorded the Neta order. “Lo want to pesen what Nay?” askinya.

“Gue chicken rice with water,” I said.

Mang Cecep immediately wrote my order.

“There's more mbak?”

“That's aja Mang,” says Neta.

Mang Cecep immediately went to make our order. A few minutes later, our order arrived.

“Still Mang,” I said.

“Sama-sama mbak,” said he went straight away.

I immediately devoured my food as well as Neta. After I finish eating, I take the medicine in my bag. And drink it immediately.

“Lo take what medicine Nay?” ask Neta.

“Headache.” I said back put my medicine in the bag.

“Oh,” answer.

Suddenly my phone rang. I saw the name on my cell phone, Doctor Nabila. I immediately picked it up.

“Assalamualaikum,” I said.

“Walaikumsalam,” answers.

“What's the doc?” my many.

“Your CT Scan results are out,” he said.

“Good dock I'm there now.” I said directly hang up the phone.

I took my wallet and took out a fifty thousand piece of money.

“This Net please payin I have to go now.” I said stand.

“Eh Nay wait! Where are you going?” tanyakanya.

“Gue is on business for a while,” I said immediately running towards the campus gate.

At the gate, I stopped a taxi. I immediately went inside and mentioned the address of the pelita hospital. I finally arrived in front of the hospital.

I immediately paid my taxi fare and went to the hospital. I walked towards Doctor Nabila's room in my heart and prayed for the result as I expected. I knocked on Doctor Nabila's door and he immediately asked me to come in.

“Please sit!” he said let me sit.

I'll sit down soon. “Giman doc result?” my many.

Doctor Nabila handed me the CT scan. I opened it right away.

“It was stated that you have a brain tumor,” he said.

It was like being struck by lightning not believing what Doctor Nabila said. He said I had a brain tumor. My tears are starting to flow.

“How can doc?” my many.

“It looks like this is because of an accident you had a few months ago, the accident resulted in some tissue in your brain damaged,” he said.

My tears keep flowing. I still can't believe what I've heard. I don't think I have any hope of living anymore.

O Allah why did you give the servant this much ordeal?, my inner.

“Can I recover doc?” my many.

“Fortunately your tumor is still in the early stages there is still a way of surgery,” he said.

“Operation doc?” my many.

“Iya faster you operation it is better,” he said.

I thought for a moment trying to calm my chaotic mind. If I have surgery, it means that Mother and Brother Alex will know about my illness. I don't want them to know about my illness.

They must be very sad even more so if Mother knows she must be in shock and her heart disease can recur.

I didn't I did until it happened. I wiped my tears.

“No dock I can't operate,” I said.

“Why Nayla if you are not operated on immediately you can lose your life,” he said.

“There must be another way doc, if I say surgery surely my sister and mother will know I do not want them to know about my illness,” I said back crying.

“But Nayla-” said

“No doc I can't,” I said.

Doctor Nabila sighed. “Well if it is your decision I will give you medicine to slow the progression of your tumor,” he said.

“Still doc,” I said wipe my tears.

“But I still hope you will be operated on,” he said.

“Iya doc, if that's me excuse me,” I said go.

I came out of Doctor Nabila's room holding a map containing my CT Scan. I walked out of the hospital while crawling my fate. Why am I being like this? Why did God give me such a hard test? My tears keep flowing.

I sat in the hospital. I sat there crying and hugged my CT scan. What I'm thinking right now is Alex and Mommy how they would react if they knew I had a deadly disease.

And also the Nature Doctor what if he gets to know. What about our wedding plans? Is he willing to accept my current situation? If he wants me to, I can't bear to suffer, to have to live with a sick woman like me. I'm sure I can't do that to her. He deserves to be happy instead of having to take care of a sick person like me.

There's a lot I'm thinking about right now. What I should do. But I don't know what to do. All I could do right now was cry out for my fate.
