Life of Izumi: Guardian

For 12 days I was kept locked up in the barn and fed only once a day which was leftover food and water.

In those 12 days I couldn't go anywhere. I only go out when I want to go to the toilet. It was accompanied by a waiter so I wouldn't run away. Fortunately, we have already completed all the replays and are preparing to enter First High School. So it wasn't a big deal that would concern my academic grades even if I skipped out for almost 2 weeks.

And for 12 days I sat in the corner of the room hugging my knees. Not out of fear, but I'm tired of being treated like that, especially by my own family.

Then, on the 15th day which was the time when the promised day finally arrived.

As a result of me being kept locked in a dark room for 12 days, after coming out of the warehouse, I became sick with nyctophobia, which scares me so much and keeps coming to mind with the warehouse when it's in the dark room.

In the morning, the butler came and told me to take a bath and get ready to meet the Hazuki family.

"Young Master Izumi, today the Lord of the Hazuki family is coming. You need to get ready"

"Then, when in front of them later, call the Great Lord as grandfather. You understand, right?"

I just kept quiet and didn't respond to her words.

My head hurt so much and my stomach was so nauseous.

As soon as I entered the bathroom, I could not help the nausea and spewed out the food I was eating.

My head was still in pain and the bath water was cold, but I forced myself into the water.

I was tired of questioning my bad luck and I began to give up my life.

I don't want to hurt anyone else.

I'm afraid of fighting others.

I want to live a normal life like everyone else, but fate doesn't allow it.

I am tired of tomorrow and want to disappear from this world.

But...

I don't want to die.

I want to live. Living as a normal person, being able to get together and tell stories with family, playing cheerfully with friends, sleeping soundly without any worries.

I just want that.

At noon at 1pm, the Hazuki family came to the Foren residence.

The man and his subordinates were invited by the butler to meet with grandfather, and I was told to prepare in front of the room.

A few minutes after they entered, I was told by the waiter to enter the room.

I walked inside with my head down and not looking at anyone.

After I stood near them, my grandfather told me to introduce myself.

"Izumi, introduce yourself to them quickly"

"Ha... Hello, myname... Arato Izumi's..." Mumbles

I could feel the sound I was making trembling and hoarse a little. I couldn't get my voice out normally because I was sick, and I didn't want to talk.

As soon as I heard my voice like that, grandfather immediately got angry.

"What are you doing?! Where is this elegant demeanor that this family has you thrown away?!" Shouted grandpa

I immediately flinched as soon as I shouted at Grandpa.

"Ma... Sorry, grandpa..." Mumbles

I was immediately frightened, thinking I would be beaten back by grandfather for making a mistake.

But luckily grandfather didn't do that because there were guests.

"Haah, I'm sorry, Hazuki. My granddaughter is indeed less educated because of the descendants of her father. Perhaps he was also still not used to meeting other people"

"No, Mister. You're so great, so your granddaughter must still have some great genes of yours. Maybe because he was a child, so afraid to see adults" said a subordinate of Mr. Hazuki

"So, what do you want to say to me, sir?" Ask Mr. Hazuki

"The parents of my grandson are now unable to look after him. As you know, her father is dead, and her mother, Liliana, is lying sick in the hospital"

I knew this was going to happen, but I was still shocked.

Mr. Hazuki and his subordinates were shocked to hear grandfather's statement.

"Master, I know you mean well give it to Mr. Hazuki. But if it's given him that completely..." Sir Hazuki's subordinate said hesitantly

"Just calm down, her surname remains Arato. I just want you to be my granddaughter's guardian. Because I trust you so much, Hazuki"

"Sorry, Sir. You also know that I have 5 children" said Mr. Hazuki

"2 of them are adopted children. You don't have to pay too much attention to my granddaughter. You can do anything to her, too, because I'm completely handing her over to you. Let's just say you adopt another child until he's done school" Grandpa said

"My grandson is about to enter his 9th year and has just finished Elementary School. That's why I think he'll fit in with your son, who also just finished Elementary School"

"In exchange, I will support you fully"

Lord Hazuki thought hard to decide.

"Well, I'll take care of your grandson"

"Then you can take her to your house. Izumi, you take your things and go with this uncle"

I slightly lowered my head in salute to everyone, then walked out of the room.

I walked back to the barn to get my stuff. As I was walking, a crazy idea began to enter my brain.

"I don't fight back if I'm hurt. What if I try now? I also want to feel what it's like to hit someone" I thought

"The old man too. Before leaving, do I need to upset him first, like beating up his beloved grandson, or destroying valuable objects in this house"

"I'm very curious.... How's it feel..."

"It must be fun, right? They laughed so hard when they beat me up"

As it continued to torment, I started thinking strange things and wanted to be in the bully position, even more so.

But my common sense is still stronger than that lust. I quickly banished those thoughts.

"No. You'll regret it later if you do anything, Izumi. Don't make a mistake" I thought

I continued my journey back to the warehouse.

As soon as I pack up my stuff and get out.

On my way back to my grandfather's room, I accidentally bumped into my cousin's sister, 6-year-old Kinshiki.

We met at the junction of the corridor, where I would walk straight, and he from the turn of the road would walk towards me.

As soon as he saw me, his eyes immediately sparkled.

"Sister Izumi! Coincidentally meet. Let's play with Shiki!"

I nodded, not expecting to meet him.

"If grandfather finds out I'm passing him, I'll be done...." Thought

"I don't have time with you. I have to go now..." I muttered and walked past him.

"Where are you going? Shiki's coming"

I stopped walking and glanced at him.

"No... Don't follow me... I'll get in trouble if I get caught with you"

"Why?" Ask

I just kept quiet and didn't respond to Kinshiki's question. I walked back to Grandpa's room

"Please... Don't come to me forever..."

Kinshiki fell silent while staring sadly at me who was walking away from her.

After I returned to my grandfather's room, I was immediately taken by Mr. Hazuki, and he became my guardian until I finished school.

I, Mr. Hazuki and his subordinates went straight from the Foren residence and came to a house that was no less big than my previous home or the Foren residence.

That house is the next I will live in as a place to live for the next few years.

Hazuki's family, now my guardian.

And the next hell for me.
