Sandra looked at her best friend who was now crying. I don't know what Sandra is feeling right now. Seeing Kanaya cry, guilt seeped into her heart.
Sandra was very sorry for having trapped Kanaya into her marriage. The marriage, which initially would only run for a year as planned.
But the plan is just a plan. All his plans failed because of his own stupidity. Had he not been determined to obey Maya to work, surely at this time the secret still remains safe.
Had Sandra been willing to be a little patient withholding her desire to work, her mother-in-law would have never known that the child was the son of Kanaya.
Sandra pulled something out of her bag. Something he initially hid. Something that initially made the woman very surprised.
However, because of her love for Sean, Sandra turned a blind eye to her heart that had been deeply hurt by knowing a reality she had never imagined before.
Kanaya was shocked to see something Sandra had given her. A picture of him and Sean in High School uniform.
"Sandra." Kanaya grasped the photo with trembling hands.
"Sean is the man you're waiting for and the reason why you're not married, right?" Sandra stared at Kanaya with both eyes dewy.
"Sa–Sandra ...." Kanaya's tears are back. Her lips were mute, unable to answer Sandra's question.
"I found the photo in Sean's wallet" Sandra said bitterly.
"That photo is the same one I've seen in your house before you married Sean. However, after you got married, that photo you hid from me."
"Sandra–"
"The girl in the photo, I still remember very clearly. It was you before I changed your appearance to be as beautiful as you are now." Sandra did not give Kanaya a chance to talk.
Her heart rumbles as her memory returns when she finds the photo in Sean's wallet. Almost six years married to Sean, why did he realize that the man he said loved him so much was actually keeping a photo of another woman in his wallet?
"Why don't you be honest with me that Sean is the same person? Why, Nay?" Sandra looked at her best friend with tears now pouring down her cheeks.
From the beginning she learned that it turns out that her husband and best friend are two people who know each other and apparently have an unfinished past that makes Sandra withstand pain at the same time.
The pain of her decision to marry Sean to Kanaya, and the pain of knowing that they turned out to be someone who had a special relationship in the past.
"What am I supposed to tell you? Telling you that Sean was the man he was ...." Kanaya stopped her speech as a sense of tightness filled her chest.
"It's all just the past, Sandra. After all, it was just me who was too confident expecting him. Sean just thinks of me as a friend, nothing more!"
"Naya, are you stupid? Where's the friend who kept your picture for years in the wallet?" Sandra looked at her best friend sharply.
"Yes, you're right. It all means nothing anymore. I remember, those were the words you said to me when I told you to move-on from the man. At that time I felt sorry for you for waiting too much for a guy who even somehow still remembers you don't." Sandra said at length to remember the past before she had plans to marry Kanaya to Sean.
Kanaya was speechless with tears constantly running down her cheeks.
She was very surprised to hear Sandra. But what should he do now?
"I can't imagine the first time you met Sean. I'm sure, you must be very surprised because Sean turned out to be the man you've been waiting for."
Kanaya looked up at her best friend.
"I'm sorry" Sandra continued.
"Sorry!" Sandra hugged Kanaya after she laid baby Nathan to bed.
"I'm sorry because all this time I made you suffer from my selfishness. Sorry, Naya." The two friendly women from a few years ago were hugging each other while crying.
Sandra expressed regret, while, Kanaya with uncertain feelings guessing since when Sandra found out about herself and Sean.
Her heart felt bad because Sandra found out that the man she once told her best friend was Sean, her best friend's husband.
"When did you know everything?" The words finally came out of Kanaya's mouth.
"It doesn't matter when I find out, obviously, right now I want to tell you that I'm going to let Sean go for you."
"Sandra–"
"I'm sincere, Nay." Sandra looked at Kanaya who looked surprised.
"After all, right now I don't deserve to be on Sean's side. Today I decided to sue Sean for divorce in court."
"Sandra." Both Kanaya's eyes are in a pattern. I don't believe what he heard.
"I'm willing to let Sean go for you. After my divorce proceedings with her are over, get married officially to Sean."
