Chapter 76. Lunch

Today Rico promises to bring Karen to lunch with Papi Arion. He'll pick up when lunch arrives.

Papi Arion has been waiting at one of their family's favorite restaurants. He was curious, what would Rico talk about so asked him to have lunch together.

Rico did not intentionally say that Karen was coming. As a surprise to Papi Arion.

Rico has arrived at his apartment which is also occupied by Karen. Just once he pressed the bell, there was the sound of feet approaching the door. Karen, who was beautiful, opened the door.

"It's really pretty" Rico said, spontaneously when she saw Karen open the door.

Karen's face flushed to hear the praise from Rico. It always is. He would be ashamed of any man seducing or mocking him. Rico does that often.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm ashamed" said Karen, as Rico continued to stare at her without blinking.

"I want to be with you forever. Can't wait to repeat the first night we ever did." Rico's words made Karen's face flushed like a tomato.

"What are you talking about?" ask Karen slowly.

Rico grabbed Karen's fingers, and closed the apartment door. He pulled the woman's hand toward the elevator. Rico did not want Papi Arion to wait too long and bore the man.

"If I keep staring at you, I'm afraid of the khilaf. Instead of going to lunch, later I will take you to the hotel," Rico said with a smile. Karen pinched Rico's arm hearing the man's words.

Rico runs his car slowly to the restaurant where he promised Papi Arion. The man hoped that his Papa would not get tired of waiting. The middle-aged man had contacted him, saying he had reached his destination.

Holding Karen's hand, Rico walked into the restaurant. Papi Arion who had been in the restaurant was holding his chest which felt tight to see the two children. Adoptive child and biological child.

"How are you, Karen?" ask Arion. It felt like hugging Karen, the daughter he had abandoned.

"I have to answer what, Pi. I'm fine right now even though living with Rico wasn't good!" karen is full of emphasis.

Arion's heart ached, felt in a dagger. His son still harbors feelings of aakit because of his attitude. He realized that he had never fulfilled his duties as a father, and that he had also tortured his daughter.

Rico held Karen's hand. He knows how that woman feels. At this moment his feelings are mixed. Because seeing a man who once traumatized him.

"I'm sorry Papi for making you hurt and hating me" Arion said softly. Baruntung used to ask Karen to call him Papi so that he no longer awkwardly call himself papi.

"Do you expect me to forget all the mistakes Papi made? Not that I'm a grudge, but I'm asking for time to forget all that" Karen said slowly.

Arion could not answer, only silence a thousand languages. He knew for sure the pain in his daughter's heart was enormous. Arion realizes he does not deserve to be forgiven for being too cruel with his daughter.

"I don't know what to do to heal your wounds and be disappointed in your heart other than an apology. All has happened, regretting also will not make it all back. Again, I'm sorry Papi. What do you have to do so you can forgive my mistakes?" asked Arion in a soft voice.

"No need to do anything. I just need some time. It's not that I don't forgive, but I just haven't forgotten everything. I have no grudge. Believe this. I will definitely forget everything someday" Karen said.

Rico then invited the two to eat a dish to melt the atmosphere.
