FLOWER WARS

FLOWER WARS
Episode 9's. A Party Invitation.

Since childhood the flower was forbidden by his father to approach or enter into the pavilion. Whenever she asked her mother about the activity that occurred almost every Sunday inside the pavilion, Bunga never got a definitive answer.

That is what makes flowers so curious. He was determined that one day he would find out what his father and his men were doing there.

"Reading or daydreaming?"

A gentle pat landed on the shoulders of Flowers. The girl grimaced to see that Jacob was now sitting across from her desk. Their little school library is empty. There was only a native disciple who was struggling with his book at the table in the corner of the room.

"Dreaming and reading," said the Flower.

"Hey, Ik verontschuldig (i'm sorry), ja?" jacob said making the flower frown.

"Waarvoor (For what)?"

"For the words of the man on the coffee plantation yesterday."

Flowers raise both eyebrows. "Why are you apologizing?"

"Because .. the man's speech is outrageous. And, I thought about your feelings." Jacob covered his faint smile. The young man slightly lowered his head.

Flowers fluttered his hands. "You don't have to apologize for something you didn't do, Jacob."

"But, since you're friends with you, people think of you that way."

"Only one of those people, Jacob. Not everyone." Flowers are trying to amuse themselves. Although honestly he was sure, many indigenous people also thought of it as said by the man from the coffee plantation.

"You're my best friend, Bunga." Jacob grabbed the Flower's hand and grasped it.

The flower laughed as it pulled its hand from Jacob's grasp. It felt strange to be treated in such a way by that young man.

"That's because you have no friends but me" said Bunga.

"Because I don't want to. They're all fake."

Flowers thaw. "Where do you know they're fake?" inquiringly.

"They want to be friends with me because of my father's office."

"Why don't you think I am? Befriend you because you're the son of a Burgemeester (Guardian town)."

Jacob grimacing. He scratched his head which was overgrown with wide blonde hair. "Ik weet het niet (I don't know)."

Flowers closed the book in his hand and smacked it gently into Jacob's head. "You don't know that I'm the same as them, either" she said.

"Onmogelijk (No way)." Jacob shook his head hard.

"Mmmm .. bit." Jacob narrowed his eyes looking towards the Flower. "There is potential that you could revolt." He stroked his chin.

"Frightly so." Flowers pretend to put on a serious face. "Prepare to face me on the battlefield someday, Jacob."

Jacob heard the words of Flowers. He knew the girl was joking. But, he caught a glimpse of the strange glint in those dark sliced eyes.

"It's been a joke" Jacob said later. "The end of this week there is a dance party and Rijsttafel (banquet) at my house. Can you come?"

Rounded Flower Eyes. Again he hit the soft end of Jacob's head with the book in his hand. "You want to embarrass me, huh?"

"Why?" asked Jacob innocently.

"That's a party for you, Jacob. Could you invite me?" Flowers roll both of her eyes.

"Normally there are some indigenous people invited." Jacob explained. "I'll be bored at the party. But my parents made me attend. If you come, I won't be bored" he continued.

The flower exhaled his coarse breath. "Laura and her family are definitely coming. You can have him accompany you."

"Laura's more boring than her party."

Flowers chuckled at Jacob's words. He shook slowly. Of course he wants to go to the party. It will be a new experience for him. However, he hesitates to accept Jacob's invitation. He could already imagine what would happen if he were suddenly in the middle of a party of white people.

"Come on, Flowers," Jacob's plea. He held the palms together in front of his chest, pleading with the girl in front of him.

The flowers seemed doubtful. However, he could not bear to see Jacob's face. Her beautiful blue eyes narrowed, and her handsome, red-coloured face showed an expression capable of melting the hearts of Flowers.

"All right," said Bunga giving up. "But don't blame me if I make trouble there later, if someone bothers me."

Jacob jumped in excitement. "There won't be any problems. Maybe they won't notice your presence."

"What clothes should I wear?" ask Flowers later.

"Hmmm ... How about we go to my parents' boutique to finish school?"

"Butik?" ask Flowers. Not because he doesn't know. But he had never set foot in a boutique. During this time, the clothes he wore were the work of his family's seamstress.

"Yes. How's it?" tawar Jacob's. "I'll buy you clothes."

Bunga commented on her smile as a sign that she agreed with Jacob's offer.
