ELIZABETH SWAN'S

ELIZABETH SWAN'S
Chapter 7 - The Girl I Miss

The glint of the morning sun came through the cracks of the window curtain, warm as it touched Elizabeth's cheek.

The girl immediately rang the little bell that was on her nightstand to call the waiter. Shake the bell twice.

Cring~ Cring~

A waiter came in and brought Elizabeth water to wash her face with a towel.

"Is there anything you want to eat for breakfast, miss?" ask the waiter.

"My dad, did he have breakfast?"

"Count Swan's been gone since early morning, miss. He said there was a sudden business outside the city."

Eliza put the wet towel she had put on back into the tray, "Hmm.. Then bring me two boiled eggs and a glass of warm milk. I just want breakfast in the room."

"Well, miss" said the maid, taking back the water and the towel Elizabeth had finished using.

A few minutes later, the breakfast he was asked for arrived. Leila brought him. Along with a letter.

"This isn't a stamp from the Grand Duke's residence, do you have any more new friends, Miss?" leila said to Eliza who had just finished her breakfast.

"Not from the Grand Duke?" eliza said as she linked her eyebrows together, then opened the envelope.

Dear Lady Elizabeth Swan.

Regina Meyer is the second daughter of Duke Meyer.

Sorry for my impoliteness for sending you a letter without ever greeting you before.

But when I saw you at the feast of the harvest, I was really amazed and I intend to be familiar with you.

If you'd like to, would the Lady attend a tea at my house later this afternoon?

To Regina Meyer.

Elizabeth grinned, making Leila wonder now what was planned by the owner, Leila muttered in her heart.

"Put in love, ulam arrived" said Elizabeth, "Leila, please get me a paper and a pen" he added.

Then Leila put the piece of paper and pen that Elizabeth asked for on the table.

Dear Lady Regina Meyer.

Greetings, I am very happy to get an invitation for tea from you.

It would be nice to spend a warm afternoon with a friend.

Thanks for the invitation, I will be sure to attend.

From Elizabeth Swan.

"Send it right now." Eliza gave the letter to Leila.

As fast as lightning Leila immediately went to send the letter at the request of the owner.

...****************...

In the afternoon at Duke Meyer's residence.

Elizabeth got off her horse-drawn carriage and was greeted by a servant who seemed to have been assigned to pick her up.

"Welcome, Lady Elizabeth. Was the trip fun?" greet a very handsome man beyond the Crown Prince and Grand Duke to Elizabeth, "Include me is Raymond Meyer the first son of Duke Meyer" he said, then kiss Elizabeth's palm as courtesy to a Lady.

"Greetings to Young Duke Meyer, I'm Elizabeth Swan" Elizabeth said, "Yes, the trip was nice because the weather was clear so I could enjoy the scenery around. Is Lady Regina on business?" he asked Raymond, considering that the one who invited him here was his sister, Regina.

Elizabeth sat down and waited for Lady Regina to arrive. Then Raymond stared at one of his servants so they all left alone. Elizabeth suddenly felt strange because all this was so suspicious.

"What's the pleasure of life being the one who's supposed to be dead?" said Raymond with his eyes that somehow really make Elizabeth's hair bristling.

Elizabeth tried to stay calm even if she didn't, "What do you mean Young Duke?" ask Raymond.

Raymond took a sip of his chamomile tea and put it back on the table, "Who's your real name?" raymond said, continuing to try to uncover the truth about Elizabeth's identity.

Elizabeth knitted her eyebrows together, who was this man before her? Why does his behavior and attitude seem to know a big secret about him.

"Regina won't be here, because I'm the one who wrote the letter" Raymond concluded, leaving Elizabeth in shock.

"Why should you lie like that? If you write your name from the beginning, I will come."

Raymond looked at Elizabeth with no particular expression, although he was actually a little surprised the girl said such a thing. He thought that if he invited him personally suddenly, his invitation would be rejected just like that, but it was not.

"Then, what's your real name?" ask Raymond again.

"You mean?" Elizabeth still pretends not to understand.

"I made you in that body, so there's no secret. Answer, what's your name?"

Elizabeth was silent for a moment, before telling Raymond her real name was Eleanor.

"Eleanor, huh?"

Hearing Eleanor's name suddenly the memories of Raymond's childhood crooked up making her momentarily dissolved back into her most yearned days.

13 Years ago, at the residence of Baron Avellar.

"Eleanor, introduce, this is Raymond our son" Duchess Meyer told Eleanor, who was 7 at the time, while Raymond was 10.

"Look how scary they both are." said Baroness Avellar.

Duchess Meyer nodded in agreement, "When they mature, I can't wait to hold on to the handsome and beautiful grandchildren" she concluded.

"Hoho... It's still a long time, Duchess." added Baroness Avellar.

The Avellar and Meyer families are on good terms, so close that their two children have been engaged since a young age.

"Didn't they talk too far?" raymond said to Eleanor who was reading a book.

"Let's just be it, if it makes them happy." replied the little girl like an adult while staying focused on the book in front of her.

The young Raymond who was daily irritated by the behavior of his spoiled and childish brother because he always seized his belongings felt captivated by the calm and mature attitude of Eleanor who was the same age as her sister.

The young man who had always hated the little ones felt that it did not matter if it was Eleanor. According to Raymond he didn't need anyone else if there was Eleanor by his side.

"What book are you reading?" and Raymond asked Eleanor.

"Politics and history." Eleanor answered quickly.

Raymond frowned, "Is it Mr. Baron Avellar who told you to study this book?" ask her curious.

Eleanor closed her book, then looked at Raymond who was still waiting for an answer from her, "Are you too curious to know like this with others?"

Raymond who was always so indifferent and indifferent to others felt wrong because of Eleanor's words just now, "Sorry, if I ask too much" he concluded.

Eleanor sighed slowly, "Dad never demanded me to live up to his expectations, he freed me to do whatever I wanted. But I chose to study in various fields in order to help her and my husband in the future. Isn't there a great woman behind a successful man?" the confident word Eleanor was always remembered in Raymond's mind even 13 years later.
