ELIZABETH SWAN'S

ELIZABETH SWAN'S
Chapter 10 - Afternoon Tea

Afternoon tea or afternoon tea among the lady royals is a thing that must be held at least once in her life.

His usual at the event was also a show to show off the wealth of the homeowner and his knowledge about the types of tea among socialites.

That afternoon a tea ceremony was held at the residence of Baron Lu Vettel. As the host, Baroness Lu Vettel had prepared the tea that he had ordered directly from the neighboring kingdom since long ago.

"The "tea I present today comes from the kingdoms in the western region. This rare tea that can only be harvested once a year is so hard to get, but because my husband's connections are so vast, of course, ladies and ladies can enjoy it here, now." baroness Lu Vettel said proudly.

"How is Lady Elizabeth? Does it suit your taste?" viscountess Magnus asked deliberately to humiliate Elizabeth who was known as the new noble of the commoners. He thought that Elizabeth from the lower classes did not understand at all about the hobby of drinking tea like them.

"Thank you for watching me, ma'am. Although this is the first tea I attended, but black tea mixed with bergamot oil is suitable for my taste. This combination of race, acid, and a little bit bitter I think would be perfect if juxtaposed with several scones" said Elizabeth at length, it made Viscountess Magnus a little upset that she did not manage to humiliate Elizabeth in front of the other socialites.

The host, Baroness Lu Vettel took a sip of her tea once, imagining she ate the scone after sipping the tea, "Hmm, scone huh?" he muttered, then called the waiter who was preparing behind him, "Tell the cook to make some scones right now" he told the waiter.

"Well, ma'am." replied the waiter, then immediately went to the kitchen to convey his mistress' request to the chef.

A few minutes later, the scone requested by Baroness Lu Vettel came. As soon as he tasted the scone after sipping his tea, his eyes sparkled as if finding a treasure.

"I didn't expect Lady Elizabeth to have such a classy taste." - Baroness Lu Vettel.

"The lady is too much. I'm the one who is honored if the advice from me matches your taste, Madam." said Elizabeth humbled, she did not want to be considered arrogant and too confident just because of one compliment.

Viscountess Magnus who had failed to humiliate Elizabeth intended to use something else to put the girl from the lower ranks to shame. But of course it is not that easy, Elizabeth has also been waiting for this day since far away. The day she can return humiliation to the aunt who has turned the facts upside down and made herself a despicable outcast girl.

"Oh yes, Viscountess Magnus, I heard Mr. Viscount is sick, is he okay now?" elizabeth asked after tasting the scone.

"What's? Viscount Magnus is sick?"

"I never heard of him getting sick. Is that true, Madam?"

Instantly things become complicated. Because no one knew about the condition of Viscountess Magnus' husband, they all just found out that Thomas Magnus was sick due to Elizabeth who had just asked the Viscountess.

Viscountess was puzzled, her face turning pale, not knowing what kind of answer to the curious mistress and lady. What makes him more confused, how Elizabeth can know, while he is sure to have kept this a good secret.

Unfortunately Elizabeth had no intention of letting go of the woman so easily. He curled his grin when he heard that the middle-aged woman could still lie about the circumstances of Thomas Magnus who lost his manhood because of the girl he was about to sleep with.

"Hmm, very healthy huh? Thankfully, I was worried because from the source I heard Mr. Viscount was found unconscious in Flowers Garden. Maybe the news that I can be a little overstated." concluded Elizabeth.

The deg!

Viscountess Magnus trembled, cold sweat began to trickle from his forehead. He was really scared to death if Elizabeth would divulge all of it. Where did that stupid girl get such accurate information? Who would dare to leak her husband's water to Elizabeth? Viscountess made him keep asking questions.

"Flowers Gardens? Isn't that a flower shop?" ask a lady who doesn't know what place it is.

"Didn't the Lady know? It's not just a flower shop, if you go inside it will be seen that the place is not just selling ordinary flowers." replied one of the lady one again.

As the situation grew less conducive, Viscountess Magnus hurried to say goodbye to the host, "Sa-I feel unwell. Mrs Baroness Lu Vettel, I'm sorry to withdraw. Thank you for the tea this afternoon" he said as he stood up from his seat.

"Yes, Viscountess. Thank you for attending this simple event." replied Baroness Lu Vettel.

After Viscountess Magnus left their curiosity all the more became. But Elizabeth tried to keep quiet so that they all wondered so that the rumors would spread more widely outside this tea show.

The twilight sky began to reveal its beauty, making the after tea event must end. Elizabeth, who was about to board her horse-drawn carriage, accidentally met Edgar Fosberg, the most hated man on earth.

Of course he had to pretend not to recognize her, Elizabeth threw an indifferent face. So did Edgdar who felt Elizabeth was not so important. Although time has passed the man still maintains his good looks. But unfortunately behind good looks there is a rot that only Elizabeth knows.

"Welcome, Marquess Fosberg. Sir is waiting for you in his study, let me drop you off." said one of the waiters who had been waiting for Edgar's arrival.

Inside her carriage Elizabeth widened her eyes, "Marquess? He is now a Marquess?!" the girl clenched her hands, "It is great that the crafty man has managed to dethrone his own sister and snatch her Marquess title. Just wait for your turn kepa*rat!" aspersons Elizabeth.

Arriving at the house Elizabeth immediately asked Leila to find any information about Marquess Fosberg. It is known to the public that after successfully seizing the wealth of the Avellar family, Edgar immediately took over the jewelry stores owned by the late Baron Avellar. Even so he was unable to manage all the stores as well as the previous owner, causing some stores in western cities to be out of business after a few months.

Elizabeth planned to buy the shops and restart her late father's business. Fortunately Elizabeth has often learned about various important things to take care of the store. Among them about the management of the store as well as the types of jewelry sold by the father.

"The biggest enemy is the one closest to you" Elizabeth murmured.
