Climbing Mount Slamet

Climbing Mount Slamet
Get lost

Kleng. kleeng...

Sayup-sayup sound gamelan music in tabuh. I opened my eyes and sharpened my hearing to find the origin of the sound. I shake Robby's body. It is easily awakened. I gave a signal to not make a sound and listen to the gamelan music in the tabuh.

"They're not from among us, Jen. They're holding a celebration" Robby said.

We both peered at the source of the sound, where below there appeared a group of dancers waltzing so beautifully following the music that was tabuh by his followers.

Robby and I continued to look at the place where the celebration was held, until at last we realized the appearance of a woman in red who just kept staring at us. Even gradually his face turned very scary. While there, it appears that Tari danced with several women who took a sling of their bodies. Gamelan strains still continue to go hand in hand following every dance movement. Looks like Dance is exhausted. I don't know why I saw his face so pale with sweat flooding his body.

Bbrrruuuggg ...

Suddenly, Dance's body collapsed. Instantly the atmosphere returned silent. From then on, we looked towards them. But when Dance fell, everything disappeared. Including the woman in the red dress. Even the gamelan-slaying troops have nothing left.

"Rob, let's go dance" I said, pulling Robby's hand.

We both rushed over to the body of the drowned Dance.

"How is this ? Do we need to get help?" I asked Robby.

"Impossible. Looks like we're in a place too far from camp" Robby said, pointing the flashlights in all directions. Justright. The atmosphere was quiet and many plants made our view limited. Though it was fitting we headed to this place the road is still as usual. Now the path we can walk is gone.

"What should we do?" I started to be afraid of the situation.

"We wait for morning. Soon the sun will rise." said Robby after seeing the clock on his wrist. I'm nodding. After all, it will not be easy for us to return to the camp with the body of a weakly rolled Dance like this.

I'm helping Robby to lift Dance's body. Finally we decided to wait for the morning and leaned the body of Tari on a tree that was the largest among the other trees.

"What do we do, Rob? I'm scared." I said sobbing to Robby. It grabbed my body. I let go of all the burdens in my heart.

"Hopefully nothing happens to us, Jen. Just pray." she replied calmly.

Is it possible that we will also accept the consequences of their actions?" my question is still sobbing.

"They? Who you mean?" Robby frowned. I'm flabbergasted. Confused, between hiding the reality themselves or telling Robby. But is it possible that Robby will forgive their actions if up to everything I know is also known by him.

"Eeemmm .. means if anyone does anything wrong here other than us. Maybe we'll get hit too. I mean." I replied while switching the conversation.

"Honestly, Jen. What do you know about this incident? All this time we climbed never happened anything bad with all of us. But this time somehow I feel we're in trouble." said Robby, holding both of my shoulders. I can't look into his eyes. I could only look down when the question came out of his mouth.

"Jen." calling him again surprised me.

"I ... I .. that time ..."

"Aaarrgghhh .. "dance sounds like pain.

"Tar, Dance. Wakes up. You why?" I asked while shaking his body slowly. Dance wriggled around like she was enduring pain. His body twitched occasionally, Robby straightened his legs and broke them down. His head was rested on a stone and covered in the jacket Robby wore. I'm honestly scared right now. Away from the camp and no one can be called for help.

I'm aghast. I saw a woman in a red dress standing not far from the three of us. His face looked cynical looking at all of us. I'm inching backwards. Like a dislike look at us. I'm trying to grab Robby's hand.

"What's up, Jen?" ask Robby who's beginning to realize my fear. I pointed towards the woman.

"Don't you interfere in my business. He's my fall." he said with a dislike look.

"Tu ... tumbassal? Whatdoes thatmean? He's our friend, we'll protect him." Robby stood up.

"Don't fuck around, Rob. I'm scared." I whispered softly in his ear.

"You calm down, Jen." she replied.

"Hahahahahaha .. You dare to mess with me? He's been troublemaking here. And I want him to be my victim." he said again.

Robby looked at the weakly rolled Dance. Sometimes his body squirms like heat.

"Him? What did he do to you that made you so angry?" ask Robby.

"He ruined my place. It even interfered with my pleasure with my man." he replied loudly.

"Your behaviour? Who?" tanyaku and Robby almost simultaneously. My mind floated, could Lukman yand that woman mean.

"Hahahaha .. You know that smart girl too." she pointed at me, scaring me even more. Is it possible that the woman could read my mind? I'm hiding behind Robby's body.

"You have a protector" he said later. Robby turned his head towards me and I just raised both shoulders as a sign of not understanding the meaning of his words.

"I'm not gonna let my tumbala get away. I'll keep chasing him." he said and disappeared. We both flirted around looking for the figure of the woman who had disappeared instantly. There was a golden light from the east.

"It looks like it's morning" said Robby. We approached the body of Dance that was still lying on the ground. This time his body was no longer stretched. It seemed like the figure wanted to take the soul of Dance.

"How's ink, Rob?" my many.

"What do you really know, Jen? Be honest." asked Robby.

"I'll tell you after we get back to camp." I replied after thinking about what I should say Robby's pepper.

"Rob, Jen." came a simple voice. We're moving. Looks like it's Tommy's voice, and maybe he and the other climbers are looking for our whereabouts.

"Robby, Jenna, Tari .. "the sound of their cries came closer.

"Tommy .. we're here." cried Robby who was followed by my shout.

"Gosh, what happened to you guys? This is Dance why?" ask Tommy to panic. The other climbers who numbered five people scattered and immediately helped us bring the body of Tari.

"Eh you see here. It's a ravine." said Tommy. I looked in the direction Tommy was pointing. My eyes were wide, and so was Robby.

"Last night we were standing here" I told Robby. He just nodded.

"Kok you guys can be here anyway?" ask Tommy curious.

"Let's tell me. Let's go back to camp." take Robby. His face looks so tired.

"Now, Jen." Tommy handed the mineral water bottle to both of us. Instantly we drained it until it ran out. We walked to the camp. The road is so steep and difficult to reach. And last night when Robby and I were looking for the whereabouts of the gamelan sound, the road we walked was not what it is today. There are only shrubs but not as severe as this. And now the road is so terrible and hard to pass. Like a path that no other climber has ever crossed. Even those who have Tari's body look troubled and troubled when choosing the streets so as not to slip into the abyss. A lot of things are going on in my mind. What is meant by the tumbal and the man of the woman in the red dress earlier. I'm sure Robby's thinking the same thing. It looked from his serious face and like he was thinking.
