CHECKMATE

CHECKMATE
Regina

The clock is three o'clock in the afternoon. As promised, Amanda will arrive at their apartment in the afternoon. But so far there have been no signs of the girl's presence. Many times Bastian checks his phone, hoping his wife gives him the news. But the result is nil.

Maybe he's still on his way. Usually the afternoon is jam-prone hours in the Capital City. It's possible that Amanda's stuck in traffic so, she's a little late to get home.

I try to wait patiently, hoping everything is okay. Actually, the man's feeling seemed bad. Pray in your heart that nothing bad will happen to you, your wife, and your family. Bastian tries to neutralize his feelings. That uneasy feeling, probably because he missed his wife too much.

Shortly afterwards, the sound of an apartment bell was heard. A feeling of relief mixed with happiness, Bastian rushed to open the door. He was so sure, it must be Amanda's wife

Instantly Bastian's eyeballs were perfectly rounded, looking at who had come to his apartment. He even became very shocked, as the figure sprang to his arms.

His memory returns to a time when he once felt love. A time when he was happy because he felt loved, and loved someone.

Honestly, he missed that hug. A warm hug from someone he used to love so much.

No. gabe. He should not fall asleep just because of a hug. Now everything is different. It's not Bastian who used to adore that girl so much. The situation was no longer the same, and his heart had also turned away from the girl of the past.

Realizing that fact, he immediately took off the woman's embrace. Take a few steps back to try to put some distance between the two

"I miss you, Bastian" said the girl, as their arms slipped

"I miss you so much. I'm sure you feel the same way, too" he said again

"What do you mean, Regina, after all this time you left me. Now you're back, and with confidence you're saying I miss you?" bastian grinned

"Bas, I know I've made mistakes in the past. I'm sorry, Bas. I want to fix everything. Everyone deserves a second chance?"

Maybe if Bastian hadn't known Amanda, he would have chosen Regini, his first love. But everything has changed. There was no place in her heart for that girl

"No Regina, you've become the past. I don't want to go back into it. Just remember I don't want to,"

"After three years of your departure, I have promised myself to forget you. We no longer have the chance to be together,"

Regina thought hard, how do I get that man back into her arms. A few seconds later, he brought his face closer, to Bastian's face, thinning the distance between them

Poked his lips on the man's lips. According to him, this is the last way, so that Bastian opens his heart again for him.

Getting such a sudden attack, made Bastian's body stiffen. He is not ready to face this reality. Especially when he realized the whereabouts of his wife. I don't know when she was standing, watching the scene between her husband, and the woman she didn't know.

Forcing himself to wake up, Bastian pushes Regina's body away from him. He didn't know what to do in a situation like this. How he explained this to his wife

"A-manda, i--" he hasn't had time to finish his words

"What is this Bus?" ask Amanda confused

Seeing her husband being with another woman, inside their apartment, was enough to shock her. Even the bad thoughts, had lodged in his head.

"I can explain all of this to Amanda" Bastian said

Shamelessly, Regina introduced herself

"I'm Regina, Sebastian's future wife," she said as she extended her hand toward Amanda

Not caring about Regina's words, Amanda still stared fixedly at her husband, as if demanding an explanation

"What is this Bastian?"

Amanda needs clarity on everything that's going on. Who is Regini, what is the girl's relationship with her husband. And what did he say, wife-to-be? What's this about with all this.

Staring at her husband and the woman in turn, as if looking for answers from the eyes of those humans.

I think I've seen this woman. It seems that he is no stranger to me. Regina, where have we met?
