The Part 18

Happy reading ...

——————————

Tika POVs.

After helping Alex choose some items to serve as his nephew's birthday gift, he immediately paid everything at the cashier's desk. Then we waited for a while for the store employee to wrap the item using gift paper.

“Lu laper gak?” alex asked while glancing at his watch, “alah this afternoon.” Then he glanced at me who was standing next to him. I shook my head and told her that I still felt full from the food this afternoon.

But as if not to give up, Alex again offered me to just enjoy a cup of coffee while passing dusk at that time. I finally accepted the offer, because I felt I still had not received an answer to the question I had previously asked him.

Now all the groceries are neatly wrapped in a large box and have been wrapped in a layer of glossy paper with funny pictures surrounding it. Alex picked him up and took him in the car. He put it in the back seat, then rushed in after me who was already sitting in the front seat. Without saying anything else, Alex immediately started his car engine and drove his car to one of the coffee shops that he had told me.

“So your plan is to go to college out of town?” alex asked to break the silence between the two of us, when a glass of coffee order owned by each of us has been presented.

I just nodded in response to that question. Then sipped the ice caramel latte in front of me slowly. Alex is a good guy. I've known him for a long time, since elementary school and only separated in high school. This time we met again.

“By nanya cave something?” I asked her permission to ask the question that had crossed my brain. Which he answered only once.

Just as I was about to ask my question, Alex suddenly raised his hand, giving a sign as if telling me to hold back my question first. He swallowed the drink that was already in his mouth, then said, “By his name, as long as not the same question or a kind of kayak earlier.”

I gawk, “Why?”

“What still need cave answer?” Alex asked back. I weighed my answer again before answering her question. By the time I looked back at him, it turned out that he had already looked at me fixedly. I became misbehaved and then I cast my eyes the other way. To cover the rhythm of my heart that feels more racing.

Alex sighed then exhaled violently, looking like he was trying to let go of the tightness in his chest. I could clearly hear that sigh. “Gua just want to know, why you still want to help the cave earlier. Though in retrospect, the cave is so evil nolak you without a clear reason.” I tried to vent my discomfort to the man in front of me at this moment.

“Unfortunately it's your mind aja.” Alex answered without looking at me again. He was busy with his cup of v60 coffee and also his cell phone screen.

I stared at the sky out there, the slowly moving disk of the sun disappearing from the horizon. Where the light of the sky will turn darker. As a sign that all the stories that happened today will soon end and turn into a memory. So is my day that is about to pass, but not for my story.

Alex and I are still in this place, sitting together but not for each other. We were swept away by the thin objects we each held earlier. Until I finally saw Alex remove the thin object from his hand. Put it on the table and then support his chin on one of the palms that he deliberately also put on the table, as a buffer.

“Why?” askaku. He just answered with his head. I changed my sitting position to face him. Then I held both my hands on the table, looking at him fixedly.

“So why?” shirihku. I just keep looking at him.

“What?” relax and then smile. His smile looks so sweet. Now I shake my head to respond to her treatment.

Suddenly I remembered Lisa who I left with Max at the mall. I asked Alex for permission to call him. Just to make sure, are they still there or go straight back home after I leave them.

A light came back to blind my eyes, just after Alex's car came out of the fence. My footsteps stopped before pushing the front door. The light came from a car I recognized as Max's. Yes, it was indeed Max's car that slowly approached and stopped right in front of the garage.

“New home?” scold Max who is now walking over to me.

“Iya,» sahutku who then nailed to the back of Max, looking for the figure of my best friend. “Mana Lisa?”

Max answered him with a headband and removed my hand from the doorknob, so that he could push the door and pass from before me. I feel a little strange about that answer.

“I'll ask him to make nginep here,” I said again while trying to catch up to Max's foot steps are quite fast.

“Try asking him again. Hape is on the charger. I'm tired of going to bed!” Max waved his hand as he continued walking and disappeared behind the door of his room which was downstairs.

I snorted in annoyance, dissatisfied with the answer. Then immediately climb up the stairs to go to my room which is upstairs. While climbing the stairs I tried to contact Lisa.

“Hallo, you said you want to take clothes doang, why not come back here with Max?” my protest was immediately after Lisa answered my phone.

There was the sound of her breathing being so heavy from across there. Makes me a little worried about her condition. Then Lisa said her apology because she couldn't accompany me tonight to stay here. Because he suddenly wanted to be alone. I appreciate his decision. But is it possible that it has something to do with Max?
