**BEFORE TRAGEDY**

FALLBACK

"Come on dad. Let Lottie come with me"

Duke William again shook his head with a warm smile at Victoria who had been whining from morning to let herself and Charlotte go to the Xonuds family residence, the Viscount and the Viscountess of Cornwell

"Don't worry, Charlotte's still a little flu, let her get well first, you and Easter are bound to jump in and out of the way that Charlotte's gonna come along too, she's gonna forget about the pain"

Puckered her lips Victoria immediately stood up from the family sofa, where her father was sitting without doing anything

"Of course, we're going to play dad!! kasian Lottie will be alone until tomorrow"

Duke William smiled warmly again

"on your own? and then dad, mom, Grey, Bety, Joseph, all the servants and all the bodyguards aren't considered?"

Kissing her father Victoria's cheek did not answer and immediately exited the room door to go to Charlotte's room. While running around inelegantly, Victoria immediately opened her sister's room just like that when her feet had reached the door

"Lottie"

With a sad face and disappointed Victoria complained to her older sister who was sitting at the head of the bed while reading a book

"It doesn't matter Ri, you and Easter will also jump to and fro and make me sicker"

Throwing her body into Charlotte's bed, Victoria shifted her body to put her head into Charlotte's lap

"But later you'll only read if I stay, you'll be Lady Boring Lottie"

Stroking Victoria's mane, Charlotte looked at Victoria with an unusual-looking face in Victoria's eyes, knowing something Charlotte might be hiding

"Why? you look sad Lottie? or is it true that you really want to come to Cornwell?"

Victoria looked at her sister's face from Charlotte's lap

"No Ri, I have to do this, this is my father's order, we have to survive"

Victoria frowned, inexplicably feeling uneasy which made her immediately hold her head up to take a closer look at Charlotte's face

"You're Lottie's freak"

Without a cue Charlotte immediately embraced Victoria, although increasingly confused Victoria immediately returned to hug Charlotte until Victoria felt if her shoulders were wet

"Hey you're crying Lottie?"

Victoria was about to decipher their hugging, but Charlotte held it back and further tightened their hugging

"I will miss you so much Ri, we love you so much"

And after that Charlotte's sobs can't be held again until her shoulders shake strongly

Victoria who felt increasingly strange and somehow, her feelings became sad and sobbed in Charlotte's embrace

"I love you too, very much Lottie"

Charlotte nodded and broke their arms, her hands outstretched to rub Victoria's wet cheeks, and Victoria reached out to rub Charlotte's wet cheeks

"Do you really want to come? I'm gonna cry in front of mom and beg dad to take you, don't cry"

Shaking her head strongly Charlotte smiled warmly and stared fixedly at her sister's two pitch-green eyeballs

"No Ri, remember this, we Arathorn is always strong, separation will not destroy us, it will make us stronger and stronger again"

Victoria nodded with her different understanding of Charlotte's words.

TOK TOK TOK

"My Lady's..."

Hearing the door on tap, Victoria and Charlotte immediately removed all the wet traces on their eyes and cheeks, taking deep breaths to calm their voices and themselves

"Come on Bety"

Charlotte's voice made the door open, a middle-aged maid immediately walked in and stared alternately between Charlotte and Victoria with a sad look

"My Lady's.... Viscount Cornwell and Lady Easter are here"

Victoria immediately stood up and followed Charlotte

"Let's Vic. After this we'll be stronger"

With an extremely uneasy feeling and a question mark-filled mind, Victoria nodded and welcomed Charlotte's helping hand, hand-in-hand towards the exit

William and Emylis who saw that the girls had left the room immediately smiled warmly and led them to the stairs

"My dear Victoria, always remember who you are, never forget your grandfather's message"

"Hmm...??"

The confused Victoria looked at her mother who was smiling warmly while gently stroking her mane, but eventually still nodded in doubt.

As they were about to head down the stairs and see Viscount Cornwell and his youngest daughter Easter Xenuds sitting on the sofa, Charlotte's grasp strengthened, Emylis immediately embraced Victoria without cue which made Victoria very and very confused, especially her feelings, she felt something very stifling

Emylis did not reply and the sobbing that she seemed to have endured finally broke until her shoulder shook violently

"Mom why...."

In the sobbing of her mother, Victoria looked at her warm-smiling father as she stroked his head with teary eyes

"We're just afraid to miss you Vic but what we're most afraid of is that you're gonna do naughty things at Cornwell"

Her father's humor this time did not touch Victoria in the slightest, although her mother and Charlotte chuckled while wiping their tears.

Emylis finally unraveled their hugging and kissed Victoria's long forehead

"Let's have my great and most powerful daughter"

"And the smartest"

William chimed in and approached Victoria to hug Victoria very tightly, Victoria replied with a feeling that made her want to cancel her plan to go outside the castle

"I don't want to go to Cornwell's dad"

William immediately deciphered their embrace and stared fixedly at the two eyeballs that were the color of his wife's eyes

"You must go, Viscount Cornwell and Lady Easter are already down"

Doubtfully Victoria gave a brief nod despite her increasingly uneasy feelings. William followed in kissing Victoria's long forehead

"Come on, kid..."

William clutching Victoria's hand with Emylis holding Victoria's hand, Charlotte stroked her sister's mane until they were at the end of the stairs where Viscount Cornwell and Lady Easter were waiting for them

"Good day Your Grace"

Viscount Cornwell greeted William and Emylis with a sad look

"Good day my Lord"

William and Emylis returned Viscount Cornwell's greeting while clenching their hands to avoid crying

"Good day Your Grace"

"Good afternoon Lady Charlotte and Lady Victoria"

Lady Easter gave her regards to the family standing in front of her, though she was confused as to why they looked so sad.

William and Emylis nodded briefly at Easter and Charlotte gracefully returned Easter's greeting

"Good afternoon Lady Easter"

"Please take care of my daughter Aron until she has to return"

Without thinking much, Viscount Cornwell, Aron Xenuds immediately embraced William, his best friend

"We'll look after him at any moment, for Cornwell's land and Xenuds's name I swear, you can calm down Will"

William returned the male hug from his friend Aron, until Aron deciphered their male hug. Emylis smiled bitterly at Aron and her husband and looked up at Victoria

"Son..remember always the message of your father and mother and your brothers"

With great doubt and with a very and very unpleasant feeling Victoria nodded then approached her father, mother and Charlotte, to give a farewell kiss that Victoria did not know at the time, if it was a goodbye kiss.

"Your Grace" Aron stared alternately at William and Emylis who had already rubbed their eyes. "You guys just calm down"

Willian immediately embraced his wife and nodded

"Lady Chatlotte too, you need to be strong"

With a strong bite of her lips and already blurry eyes, Charlotte gave a short nod

Bety and Joseph stood at the farewells of the families they had served since their ancestors and would continue to serve until the end of their lives, unable to hold back any more tears, wiping silently their tears, Bety and Joseph led Aron, Easter and Victoria out the door, where the Xenuds horse-drawn carriage was waiting.

Before it actually came out, Victoria once again turned her head to look at her family in turn, a warm smile with teary eyes that Victoria was unaware of would be the last most normal sight for Victoria to see.
