SCR 520: Voyage Lantern

I grabbed Danny's hand, which pulled me to my feet. He just smiled a little at me. With the SCR 520 in my right hand, we continued our journey. Danny started focusing on the lantern I was holding and walked quickly to my side.

“Eva, you know that the lantern you hold is SCR, not ?”

I just glanced at him briefly and then looked back towards the front.

“This is the legacy of Luna, my new friend.” I replied as I continued walking accompanied by Danny beside me. My trauma to Luna's death still looms over my shadow, so at this moment, I unknowingly walked one step faster than Danny.

“Eva ! Relax !” danny from behind. I stopped my steps and stayed in place for a moment. My tears slowly came back from my eyes. No matter how hard I tried, still the vile death that Luna experienced was still ringing in my head. Danny rushed over to me and stood in front of me. I slowly thrust myself into his chest and let Danny's hands hug my body while sobbing sobs.

“I already know how it feels to lose someone, and it does hurt.” said Danny who tried to calm me down. I kept my mind blank and slowly lowered my right hand which was carrying the SCR 520 lantern. Arriving at a glance, I saw a flash of white shadow that flashed before my eyes from the end of the hallway. Still in the same position and without changing my sluggish look, I wondered if Danny had also seen that shadow. I also asked.

“Danny, there are monsters around here ?” ask me slowly. Danny immediately raised his head and looked around.

“It looks like nothing, tuh.” concluded. What was that white shadow ? Is there still a ghost like a kuntilanak in the facility full of horror creatures ? Thought.

“You must have just thought too much about it, Eva. Meningan we continue to get out of this place.” replied Danny while patting my back. I just agreed and we continued on our way.

“After we exit this hallway, we will arrive at the upper anomaly containment room, so be prepared.” explained Danny. I looked at him with a curious face because I didn't know what.

“There is indeed an anomaly of what ?” ask me with curiosity.

“Most of them are anomalously human-like creatures/more often we refer to as humanoids. And half of them are usually very aggressive and hostile to our species, man.” explains Danny long and wide as always. I gulped my mouth and looked back to the front. Suddenly, a vision of the road in front of the left appeared in my mind. That brief vision was as if it was taking me quickly to the left aisle that was in front of us at the moment. At the end of the passageway was a humanoid monster staring at me briefly before the vision disappeared. I immediately regained my senses and stopped my steps for a moment while releasing a small scream. Danny was a little surprised and looked at me.

“What's up!?” ask Danny.

“In the left aisle there is a humanoid kayak monster. Don't go there.” answered me while warning Danny about my vision earlier. I tilted my head slightly to the left as Danny looked at me with a strange look as if astonished by the statement.

“Stupid basis. I just came here through that hallway. Above the door is an anomaly detection alarm. If only an anomaly had entered that door, we would have heard that alarm from here. So is the hallway at the end of there. We're safe as long as the alarm doesn't go off.” explained Danny at length to me. I could only be embarrassed by my own words at the beginning. Damn, how stupid of me.

“It looks like you have been affected by SCR 520.” continued Danny while pointing towards the lantern in my right hand. I shuddered in horror when I finally knew that the SCR 520 effect would only appear after the death of someone in front of him.

“Never believe in an anomaly Eva.” said Danny.

“Alright.” I replied quietly due to embarrassment. But it all ended when it arrived, the alarm referred to by Danny rang and diverted Danny's attention instantly.

“No way.” murmured Danny. He took out a gun from his pocket and paid attention to the area around him. Arriving from the left aisle, a man ran aggressively and turned his head left and right before finally finding us both standing a little further to his left. Crazy, the vision really happened accurately, I said in my heart. Danny pointed his gun at the creature and shot it many times and made the creature fall to the ground and die. Danny walked straight towards me and pulled my left hand while running straight ahead. I looked at his face, his face still confused as if I could not believe that my warning had really happened.

“Hey, Danny, it seems you don't know in detail about the SCR 520 in my hand.” I guessed as I continued to look at his face.

“Indeed. I'm a special agent who's only in charge of guarding the humanoid anomaly upstairs. So I didn't pay much attention to the anomaly that was in the basement.”

“Kalo so, how can you know the details of SCR 012 it ?” I asked Danny once more.

“Same as SCR 520. But at least a little more detail.”

That means, everything Danny explained to me about SCR 012 is not the full explanation. It turns out that people seem to have weaknesses, too. After our brief conversation, we continued to run without any definite anomalies chasing behind us. I don't know why I had to run in panic like this with him, which I definitely just followed him. The vision reappeared, and this time showed me a danger that would arise from the other left passageway.

Danny grieved before finally stopping in front of the left aisle. There was nothing, before there was finally someone who emerged from behind the passageway. Danny shot the guy. 'See the future ? Is that really doable ?' ask Danny in my heart.

“Eva, keep running !”

I answered him just by nodding and kept running as he said. Danny was still preoccupied with fighting a horde of lunatics that I didn't know exactly what they were chasing me behind. Moments later Danny also caught up with me while occasionally looking back and shooting at the mob that was chasing us. What is clear is that they are not corpse puppets from SCR 008, as there are no threads moving them and also no thread attached to the wall of the wall that we passed along the way.

“Danny, what are they?”

“Product results from SCR 016. We call them zombies.” replied Danny. We continued to run while accompanied by the loudness of the anomaly detection alarm in this hallway. Suddenly I stopped running as I saw the figure of Luna who was enveloped by a white light standing in front of me. Danny also stopped running when he realized that I had arrived silent with a blank look.

“Eva, what is it !?”

I ignored Danny and listened to Luna talking to me.

“Eva, do not walk straight ahead, you will meet with an anomaly that is more dangerous than the person who is behind you it.”

“Eva !!”

I was made to regain consciousness after Danny shouted to my left while pointing his gun at the zombie horde SCR 016 that one by one emerged from behind the hallway behind me.

“We need to get out of here as soon as possible, Eva !!” danny exclaimed as he continuously fired at the SCR 016 behind me.

“Don't follow this fool, Eva.” the figure of Luna I saw back appeared behind me. I also looked back. His face looked anxious and looked very hopeful that I would follow his advice. Without me noticing, this hallway was increasingly filled with the bloodthirsty SCR 016 hordes of both of us. When I looked back at Luna, I realized that she was not actually here.

“We have to be fast. EVA !!”

Danny's voice calls me back to escape from this hallway. I had to choose one of them, between Danny who was always by my side or Luna who was my first friend in this place. And I decided to follow Danny. I clasped his hand and let him pull my body away from the pursuit of SCR 016 while continuing to look at the glowing figure of Luna with a sad face.

“I'm sorry Luna. But you are dead.”

My words made the figure of Luna who I slowly left behind was put on a disappointed face. I saw from a distance that he began to shed tears from both of his eyes. Luna started spinning her back to me, and a voice that I expected to come from the SCR 520 lantern in my hand spoke in a tone of disappointment.

“Goodbye, Eva.”

I also realized that the figure of Luna was from SCR 520. This lantern stored the soul of a deceased person right in front of him into this lantern. When the user, i.e., I myself am in an unclear situation or in danger, Luna will come and give me a vision or warning just as she did just now with me. Luna had been trying to warn me of the danger ahead, but just now I had let her down and left me. How stupid I am, I regret.

We finally reached the end of the hallway with a ladder that would lead us to a door above us. After we climbed 1 rung, Danny pressed a button on the left wall, immediately spouted 4 pairs of fire bursts horizontally and made the SCR 016 retreat backwards and some were burned by the wall of fire.

“Good defense system, not ?” ask Danny proudly. Looks like he's bragging about the foundation he's working for me.

“Entah.” I replied briefly. We continued to climb up the stairs while leaving the group of SCR 016 overwhelmed with a wall of fire before them. After climbing the stairs, we finally arrived at a hallway that looks exactly the same as the hallway we passed before suddenly moving to the underground area. This hallway with its bright ash-iron walls again reminded me of the terror from SCR 008 that first nearly took my life. Danny walked back to his feet while holding my hand straight ahead.

When we arrived at the end of the hallway with an automatic door that opened, our steps were stopped when we saw a woman in plain red dress and also mixed black and red hair, carrying a large sword whose blade was also blood red. Danny pointed a gun at the woman with a serious face. Danny then muttered to himself.

“SCR 038 : Ozma Hollis.”
