After the Rain

After the Rain
The First Lie

Days change weeks, and weeks change months. Daniar's life is changing. It seems, Daniar's former mother-in-law did not mess with his words just yet. In fact, Yandri had never sent money again for the Star school fees. Especially for everyday purposes, such as pocket money and the general needs of a teenage girl.

Now, Daniar really has to rack the brain to pay monthly bills like electricity, water and wifi. Fortunately, the rented house had been paid by his mother for a full year, until the burden of Daniar's mind was slightly reduced.

Daniar flipped through his financial notebook. Counting any number of times is still the same. Big pegs of pole.

Daniar income as an honorary energy, can not cover all his monthly expenses. Not to mention, the costs for the unexpected. Such as the cost of the doctor if he and his child are sick, Bintang exculpatory activities, or the laws of Hajjatan neighbors, relatives, friends and co-workers.

"Yourf!"

Daniar washes his breath violently. Not wanting his head to throb even more intensely because he saw the minus numbers, Daniar also closed his notebook.

If it's a gini cake, I'll have to do a side job. But what work, huh? inner Daniar.

After school, Bintang sat in the backyard waving neatly folded paper in front of his face. The stars are confused. Actually, he already knew what the contents of the paper were, and was addressed to whom the invitation was. It's just that, the Star felt disinclined to give it away.

Huh, the burden of your mind will increase if you see this invitation. Hmm, I'd better just throw it away, Inner Star.

The tomboyish teenage girl squeezed the paper for the study tour meeting from her school. A second later, the Star throws the paper into the trash can next to it.

"Why banished?" ask Adwira, a Star classmate.

"Not important either" said the expressionless Star.

"Ish, what doesn't matter, Bin? That's a meeting invitation letter to our parents. Trust, so we must convey to our parents," said Adwira, advising.

"Brew!"

The star snorted in annoyance. A moment later, he got up from the park bench. Very upset, Bintang kicked the can of used drinks in front of him.

Adwira who saw the behavior of the transfer child a few months ago, can only smile.

There was nothing interesting about the tomboy. Only, his flat facial expression and introverted attitude, made the teenage boy feel curious.

"Hmm, what an interesting little girl" Adwira muttered.

A few days have passed. And of course, it's getting harder for Daniar to live. The rice stock in place had already begun to thin. The date is still too long to change months.

Daniar stared at the bracelet and ring her ex-husband had given her. Daniar's smile rose, when he remembered the original memories of the jewelry.

"What do you want, Yar?" ask Yandri.

They were walking home from Nauval's house. Incidentally, the village where his wife Nauval lived was still one region with Daniar.

"What a hell, Yan. Hmm, the most important thing is not to burden you too" said Daniar.

"I can't give you gold, because I don't have the money to buy it. However, if someday I have more sustenance, God willing I will buy you jewelry, Yar," said Yandri. "What do you want to buy?" tanyakanya.

"In fact, Niar does not like to wear necklaces. Confused if I take a shower. Earrings have also. Just the ring, man. Can be a diamond, small also not pa-pa. As a sign that Niar is already tied to you," replied Daniar with his potent style.

"Yes, I'll buy him the bracelet too. Let your little hands not be too plain" Yandri said. "But later, yes. If we're married and I already have a lot of money" he added.

"Yes-yes," said Daniar.

And it turns out, Yandri is not a man who likes to break promises. Although Daniar had forgotten about the jewelry that Yandri had promised, but on his eighth wedding anniversary, Yandri bought him a box of jewelry as a gift.

Daniar holds his drawstring bracelet. Should I sell these things? his inner.

Daniar took out his jewelry papers. He began to calculate the money he would get from the proceeds of selling his jewelry.

Hmm, pretty good too. Enough for the capital to make cookies, said Daniar in his heart.

Tomorrow, after school I will go to the gold shop to sell these jewels, the inner Daniar while removing the bracelets, rings and earrings.

Daniar's determination is round. He would sell all the jewelry he had. Except for her wedding diamond ring.

"For this one, it's enough to be mortgaged," Daniar murmured, inserting the little ring into a heart-shaped jewelry box.

Next day.

After selling her jewelry, Daniar enters Pawnshop to pawn her diamond ring.

Just as he was about to enter the Pawnshop, a woman greeted Daniar.

"Mrs Niar, huh?"

Daniar knitted his two eyebrows. He did not recognize the woman who greeted him.

"Yes, Right. Sorry, who are you?" And let's ask back.

"Did you know, my name is Megi. I'm the Star's homeroom teacher" the woman replied.

"Astaghfirullah, sorry ma'am. I rarely go to school, so I don't recognize Mom, "sorry Daniar who feels stupid in front of his homeroom Star.

"Ah, it's okay, Mom. How's Mom doing? Is it healthy?" ask Ms. Megi again.

"I mean Mom?"

Instead of answering, Daniar asked back while frowning his forehead. Honestly, Daniar doesn't understand the direction of the Star's homeroom talks.

"The star said, I'm sick, so I couldn't come to the study tour yesterday. Hmm, but it's okay, ma'am. I still hold the cost details. A moment."

Ms. Megi opened her big bag. A second later, he took out a piece of paper from inside the bag.

"This is the cost details. Go ahead, I can take her to learn" said Ms. Megi, giving Daniar a piece of paper.

"Well, Mom. Thank you," Daniar replied despite being astonished.

"Yes already, Mom. Excuse me first. It seems my husband is done with his business. Thank God I have recovered, may always be in full health. Come, Mom," said Ms. Megi, who saw her husband coming out of the parking lot.

For a moment, Daniar could only be glued. Her memories tried to recall Bu Megi's words a few minutes ago.

Sick? Why did Bintang say I was sick to his homeroom? Why would he lie? And why didn't she tell me there was a parent meeting at her school?

Inner Daniar kept asking about the lies the Stars were doing. During this time, Daniar never taught his daughter to lie. Yet, somehow the Star did a lie.

This was the Star's first lie, and I had to stop her immediately so she wouldn't repeat the lie again. I need to see the stars soon. Daniar is back in his heart.

With a breath that hunts down because of emotion, Daniar immediately went to look for the angkot. All the way home, his heart was beating.

Arriving home, Daniar is no longer able to stem his emotions. The first lie of the Stars has provoked the anger of Daniar. He opened the door of the house violently.

"Star! The star!" Daniar called his daughter so loudly.

The star that was drawing, immediately put the drawing equipment. In a hurry, the teenager came out of the room to hear his mother's thunderous call.

"Yes, Bun. Why?" sahut the star as soon as it arrived in front of Daniar.

"What the fuck, Star? Since when do you have a hobby of lying to your mother and teacher?" ask Daniar, furious.

"I-I mean Mother?" the stars do not understand.

"Say! Why are you lying to your homeroom teacher? Why do you say that if you're sick so you can't attend a meeting, why?" tanya Daniar is full of emphasis.

"No, Bun. Bi-bibin doesn't lie. After all, Bibin did not know what Mother was talking about," replied the nervous Star.

"Then, what is this?"
