After the Rain

After the Rain
Dark Eyes

Yandri was quite surprised to hear the voice of a woman who offered him a drink. Suddenly he looked. A beautiful woman wearing a shar'i looks so graceful. Yandri only sighed when he realized who the hijab woman really was.

"No, thank you. I had a drink earlier," Yandri replied lying.

Siska took a deep breath. It was obvious she saw that Yandri had not touched any drinks, but why did she have to lie? Is it possible because he still harbors his hatred, Siska thought.

"Are you still so disappointed in me?" ask Siska, slowly.

Yandri. He did not understand the direction of the woman's conversation that had suddenly appeared before him after so many years.

"Do I have a reason to be disappointed?" Yandri asked back.

"It's been a dozen years, Yan. But why is your attitude still cold on me" Siska replied.

"Hmm, that's just your feeling. My attitude is like this. I thought you knew about it, too" replied Yandri.

"I'm really sorry, Yan. I realized all my stupidity. But I swear, now I've changed. I love you, I love you so much" Siska said without feeling ashamed to express her feelings of love.

"I'm sorry, you're wrong to love people. I'm a family man. Excuse me!"

Unwilling to respond to the woman from his past, Yandri then steps up to avoid Siska.

"You don't want to share your feelings with me?" shout Siska.

For a moment, Yandri's steps came to a halt. Honestly speaking, he did not understand the meaning behind the question Siska was asking.

"I know you've been separated from him for a long time, Yan. Don't you want to share your grievances with me. Emm, at least as a friend," continued Siska, hopeful.

Yandri is quite surprised to know if Siska knows about her status. However, he would never share his feelings with anyone. Even more so with a woman. Although only friendship.

"There has never been a true friendship between a man and a woman. And if there is, it's not me!" yandri asserted, as he passed away.

Be ill. Surely Siska's heart ached again when she accepted Yandri's rejection again. However, for some reason Siska was still trying to put aside her pain. Could it be because Siska's love was too great compared to her pain?

Time keeps going. Ms. Maryam's complaint about Yandri's cold attitude towards women, made Yandri even more reluctant to go home. He even went back to studying to a higher level. Yes, Yandri's small ambition to become a Great Master, now re-emerged in his mind.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Bin. It's Dad" Yandri said as he contacted his daughter's boarding school.

"Wa'alaikumsalam's chat. Yes, Well ... how are you?" answer the stars on the other end of the phone.

"Thank God, good news, son. How are you, healthy?" Yandri asked back.

"The baby is healthy, Dad," replied the Star.

"Hmm, thank goodness then. Oh yes, Bin. I'd like to have an important conversation with you, would you?" ask Yandri again.

"Can Well. It just so happens that Bibin is resting again, really," said Bintang.

"Maybe, for the next six months, I can't see you, son. You are intending to continue your education in Malaysia. You're not pa-pa, are you?" ask Yandri.

Silent. For a few seconds, there was no response from the other end of the phone.

"Bin, you mind, huh?" ask Yandri.

"Eh, no Dad," replied the Star.

"Kok quiet?" yandri.

"No pa-pa, Dad. Bibin was just a little surprised, why do you have to continue your education in another country?" star Words.

"There just so happens to be a student exchange program at Dad's school. And Dad was elected to be the representative of the school" Yandri said.

"Yes, I'm leaving" replied the Star.

"That means, one year and a half we will not meet, Dad," said the Star.

"It seems so, son," replied Yandri.

"Hmm, yeah, nothing, Dad. After all, Father in the land of people, right, not for holidays, hehehe,." - joke Star.

"God willing, if there is a holiday, I will go home, son," replied Yandri.

"Yes, Dad. Yes, yes, Dad. The bibin is called Rohisyah" said the Star.

"Oh, okay son. Take good care of yourself. I love Bibin."

"Yes, Dad. Bibin loves Daddy too. Dad, assalamu'alaikum!" concluded Bintang, ending his conversation across the phone.

"Wa'alaikumsalam."

After returning his son's greetings, Yandri again put the phone on his desk. His hopes of reuniting with Daniar are getting thinner. Therefore, Yandri again grew his childhood ideals to forget his feelings for Daniar.

.

.

His first meeting after so many years did not change Yandri's attitude towards him. Siska thought, all of that must be because of that woman. His ex-wife Yandri.

I have to think of a way that Yandri doesn't always have to meet Daniar. If they still continue to meet, it will certainly be more difficult for Yandri to forget the woman. And, the reason for the meeting was the Star, their only daughter. If Yandri could take custody of the Star of Daniar, of course he had no reason to meet Daniar again. Hmm, I have an idea how to stop their meeting, Inner Siska grinned.

Siska slightly polished her face with natural makeup. After that, he took the keys of his motorbike and got out of the house. Siska intends to visit Miss Maryam to convey something.

After traveling for almost half an hour, Siska finally arrived at Miss Maryam's house.

"Assalamu'alaikum!" greet Siska while knocking on the door of Miss Maryam's house.

"Wa'alaikumsalam." An old woman came to open the door. "Eh, Siska Boy. Please come in!" take the woman who is none other than Miss Maryam.

"How are you, Mom?" Siska said hello while kissing the back of Maryam's hand.

"Alhamdulillah, good news. You alone?" Maryam asked back.

"Alhamdulillah, sound Ma'am," replied Siska.

"Let's sit down, son!" Maryam invited her guests to sit down.

A moment later, they sat facing each other. Maryam called her son to make a drink. Then he asked Siska.

"Tumben come here, son. What's the need?" asked Maryam who was curious because Siska came, but Yandri was not at home.

Yes, it is true. When Yandri is undergoing his retirement, Siska is always looking for reasons to visit Miss Maryam in order to meet Yandri.

"Look, Mom. Mother herself knew that Yandri's attitude was still so cold towards Siska. And all of that is of course there is a reason" said Siska starting the topic of conversation.

"You mean? What kind of reason, son? Didn't Yandri ever say that he forgave your past mistakes?" miss Maryam.

"That's true, Mom. But that's not the reason Siska meant" Siska said.

"Want to?"

"Mom, Yandri will not change his feelings while still routinely meeting Daniar" Siska's great-grandson.

"Honestly I don't understand, Sis. Please just get to the point," replied Miss Maryam who began to feel annoyed with the discussion of Siska who was too long-winded according to him.

"What if we take custody of the Star, ma'am. Mother herself knew how Yandri had behaved towards the Stars. If Bintang is still in the hands of Daniar, he can be used as a tool to dredge Yandri money. However, if Bintang lives with Mom, all Star spending can be clearly known. You can manage all of Yandri's income without having to share it again with Bintang. Because of all the Star's needs, Mother will arrange it later."

I don't know which demon possessed Siska until she was able to instigate Miss Maryam. In fact, Siska's initial intention was only to keep Daniar and Yandri away. However, somehow he was so fluent in talking about a heinous plan to separate mother and child. It seemed, love had already made Siska dark-eyed.
