A Stupidity

Episode 2

I opened my eyes slowly as my phone lying beside my bed shook strongly. I grabbed my phone lazily because I was sure it was a call or an incoming message from a debt collector who charged my debt payment.

A notification of an incoming message appeared on my phone screen. I opened it, someone with a number I didn't know sent me a message.

'Amel, 'Amel,

It's Bayu. Can we meet at 7pm tomorrow at Alam Sutera Living World Mall?'

I flinched and sat in my bed, said Bayu who sent me a message. What does Bayu want to see me? Will he give me a job?

I returned the message.

'Oke Bay, tomorrow the cave to it!'

My heart is pounding, I hope Bayu gives me a job so that I can get out of this debt and improve my life again. God, I hope this is the way out of my trouble!

At 18:55, I arrived at Alam Sutera Living World Mall. I stepped into the West Lobby to wait for Bayu. I contacted him via chat to let him know that I was already where he promised to be. I sat in one of the chairs there.

19.12 WIB. Twelve minutes had passed but Bayu had not yet met me here, nor did he give any news at all, my chat was only read without reply. Is he going to play me?

"Mell!" yelled at someone while patting me on the shoulder. The surprised me immediately got up from my seat and turned my body to face the person. Exactly guess! It was the baby who called me that, he was with another man.

"Sorry, I'm late! There was a little business." he explained. I just nodded slowly.

"Oh yes, know this Adnan, he's my best friend as well as my business partner" said Bayu introduced the tall and slim man who had been with him. The man reached out his hand to invite me to shake hands.

"Adnan, Adnan Wirayudha!" he said introduce himself.

"Lady Amelia, just call me Amel!" I introduced myself to him too. His palm felt very smooth, very different from my palm. Are all the hands of a rich man like that?

"Yes, let's talk about it while eating!" bring Bayu.

Bayu and Adnan took me to one of the restaurants in the mall.

"Now, Mel!" said Bayu while presenting the restaurant menu book. I read the list of food and drinks that were there and there was not a single name that I knew, the price was very expensive for me. What should I order?

"What do you want to order, Mel?" ask Bayu. Bayu's question made me sweat, I really don't understand what to order! I can't even say his name.

"Lo choose it, Bay!" finally said.

"You don't know what's good here" I said.

"Hm. Okay, this cave is just a pesenin?!" bargain Bayu while showing what he will order for me. I nodded slowly.

Bayu also asked what Adnan wanted to order and he told all the orders to the restaurant waiter.

"Amel this is my friend in Junior High" Bayu told Adnan. Adnan nodded his head.

"I used to bully him!" i'm Bayu. Bayu told me how he bullied me back then, and they both laughed out loud. Maybe for them it's a funny story, but really, I used to hate Bayu so much. He made me lazy to go to school because he was constantly treating me badly. I never thought I'd see him again, even now I'm trying to hang my life on the guy who bullied me.

"Lo really needs a job, Mel?" ask Adnan slowly.

"Yes!" I said while nodding my head.

"Gue's been unemployed for a month." I.

"Oh, you're not working?!" Bayu looked surprised to hear my confession. I nodded my head again.

"So you really need a job?" ask Adnan again.

"Yes!" answer's short.

"We have work to do for people who really want to work!" terang Adnan's.

"A.. what is it?" many nervous. I don't know why I feel like I'm catching a bad feeling from this job.

"We want you to save our best friend's life." Bayu continued.

"Ma..he?" I was confused by what Bayu meant. Rescuing it? Is his friend sick? Do they want me to donate an organ to her best friend?

"So gini.." Adnan started the story. He and Bayu told me in detail about the work, what I should do in the work.

"You're out of your mind, aren't you?!" my macu. I was really surprised to hear their explanation of the job.

"Gue don't want to work like that!" reject me. Adnan and Bayu gasped, he looked very surprised because I turned down the job offer from them.

"Lo sure you don't want to do this job?" ask Bayu. I looked at Bayu with sharp eyes.

"Sin, Bay!" myrag.

"If you're sure you don't want to take this job, it's okay. We will find someone else who will help our friend." said Adnan.

"Our intention is just to save our best friend's life" he said slowly.

"Can be in another way, a more normal way." I said.

"What kind of normal do you mean?" ask Bayu.

"Yes, for example, introduce me to your best friend in a normal way, not like you want it!" sahutku.

"Now!" Adnan thrust his phone in front of me.

"This is his girlfriend now" Adnan said. A photo of a very beautiful woman, white, and long-haired plastered on the screen of the phone. The face of that woman was as beautiful as an angel!

"You think, if we use normal means is it possible that he can easily turn away from a woman like this?" ask Adnan.

"Is it possible that you can beat the charm of her boyfriend?" ask again. I fell silent, Adnan's words were true but somehow it felt very piercing to my heart.

"We have absolutely no ill intention to hurt our friend, we just want to restore his life as it used to be" Adnan said.

"Yes, Mel! We just want to help our best friend." Bayu added. I looked at them both in turn. I don't know what to answer. My heart kept beating so fast that it made my chest feel tight.

"Help us, Mel. Please...!" pinta Bayu's.
