A week after that incident, Reni never again greeted or looked at Beno. Although Beno exists, Reni considers him like air. Existing but intangible, felt but invisible. Reni's eyes were blind, her heart frozen like a stone.

This morning Reni took Edgar and Elga for a walk in the yard. Breathing fresh air while drying them in the morning sun which is certainly good for health.

The man approached Reni and pulled the girl's hair until her head was pulled back.
