A Husband's Love

A Husband's Love
Sinta's Achievement

To imagine four years is not a short time. Sinta must be willing to separate from the people she cares about in order to continue her education. The day of living abroad feels foreign even though there is a husband, Andra and Agnes with him. It turned out that life without Airia in the country was very torturing for him. Not just Sinta. Andre is too.

Until they have been living in a country of people for a year. Airia was not delivered by Andi as a promise first. It was not that Andi was not willing to keep his promise. But Airia won't. Face to face via video call, that way they let go of longing. But the technology could not satisfy the longing of a husband and wife will be their fruit. Almost every day they make video calls. It turns out that only touch and touch can satisfy that longing.

Radit and Sean keep their promises to their wives. After Andre and Sinta stayed in the second year in the country. Two pairs of friends and their children visited the country. They had to wait two years because Tini gave birth to their second child in Sinta's first year abroad.

But not all promises are kept. Two couples and their children could not stay at Andre's apartment. The apartment was too small to accommodate eight new residents. Radit and Vina bring their three sons while Sean and Tini only bring Ayu Dewi with them.

The arrival of their friends can reduce their longing. But not for Airia. The arrival of the best friend actually makes their desire even more passionate to immediately meet the beloved daughter. And that longing is also what makes Andre and Sinta eager to quickly complete their education in the country. They deliberately ignored Andi's request to print grandchildren for Papa Rahmat who was born abroad. They focus on the purpose of their existence in the country.

Sinta and Andre could feel the time as slowly turning. But their achievement in completing education is worthy of thumbs up. Sinta was able to complete her education two and a half years while Andre was able to complete her education three and a half years.

Now they have returned to their home country. After three and a half years in the land of the people. Sinta and Andre could feel their hearts calm again after regrouping with Airia. The girl was already sitting in kindergarten. Sinta's duties are increasing at home to become a teacher for her eldest daughter.

Sinta is getting busy. Being a career woman who was once dreamed of has now been realized. Sinta even graduated to become a lecturer at one of the city's public universities. Andre did not limit Sinta to a career. Andre only asked that Sinta be smart to divide her time between husband, children and career. Sinta's achievement after her bitter life struggle finally paid off. Happiness with a small family and also a brilliant career. And that achievement was achieved Sinta at a young age.

And already six months, Sinta underwent a profession as a lecturer. And during that time also Sinta can divide the time well. Sinta only had three days of teaching at the university. And four full days for his little family. Sinta did not waste those four days. The four days of the week are used by Sinta as best as possible specifically for her small family. Visiting her parents-in-law who are getting older and sometimes visiting her parents in the village on weekends.

Like at this moment. Sinta and Andre and their two daughters' sons are in the house of Papa Rahmat. The elderly couple was very happy to be visited by his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. They talk a lot about things. More often than not, they talk about their own universities.

"Andre, papa heard there is a vacancy for economics lecturers at our campus. Is that true?" ask papa Rahmat. The old man had indeed entrusted the university completely to Andre. Andre was already the rector of that university. But the responsibility is more than that. Papa Rahmat only hitchhiked in the organizational structure of the university. But those who carry out their duties and responsibilities as the owner of the university have been completely taken over by Andre. Mr. Grace only signed what needed to be signed.

"real pa. The old lecturer was proven to be cheating by accepting bribes from students to facilitate thesis affairs," replied Andre. Papa Rahmat nodded in agreement after hearing the sanctions that had been imposed on the lecturer. Both Rahmat and Andre did not tolerate all the actions of the lecturer who cheated.

"Good son. Papa likes the way you handle problems wisely like that. Let it be a lesson for other lecturers so as not to cheat," said papa Rahmat praising Andre's policy. Andre did not fire the lecturer. But Andre asked the lecturer concerned to resign for the good name of the lecturer himself.

"If you immediately fire pity the father pa. He must have been hard to get a teaching place. Which made me make that final decision. It turned out that it wasn't the first time he did something like that" Andre said.

"Not pa. We have opened vacancies and there are already several candidates who have been interviewed. But it is not suitable to replace the father" replied Andre. He was also a little dizzy with the substitute of the lecturer. Of many applicants. But none of them are competent according to him.

"What if Sinta replaces that lecturer?" ask Rahmat sir. Sinta who from earlier only listened to the conversation of her husband and father-in-law immediately looked at the faces of the two alternately. While Mama Ningsih smiled a sign of agreeing with the proposal of papa Rahmat.

Andre thought and looked at his wife's face. It's not that he didn't think about it. But he did not want Sinta to be too tired to work. Had Sinta taught at another private university. It is certain Andre will immediately recommend Sinta himself.

"I don't think pa. Airia and Andra were young. I've been busy one day for almost six days a week. If Sinta like me is busy six days a week pity the children," replied Andre.

"What do you think Sinta. I guess that only ordinary lecturers are not full one daily on campus. You will be on campus when there are teaching hours. Soon the children will go to school. Airia and Andra's school hours can be adjusted to Sinta's teaching schedule on campus. So during the day Sinta can still be with Airia and Andra," said Papa Rahmat. All the words of Father Grace actually make sense. But Sinta has his own views on the offer.

"Sorry pa. What you said is true. And what Andre said was also true. But I think personally. It would be nice if we gave that opportunity to someone else. Not because I didn't devote myself to my own alma mater. But we need to keep the assessment of the campus internal. Some of them must have thought that the draw from a troubled lecturer was an element of intentional or trapping to include me as a lecturer there. We must think in that direction for the convenience of the lecturers and staff working pa," replied Sinta politely but his opinion was very good.

Papa Rahmat and mama Ningsih smiled. They did not expect if Sinta had any other thoughts for the vacancy. From those words, papa Rahmat and mama Ningsih that Sinta is not a selfish and greedy human being.

While Andre was embracing the shoulder of Sinta who was sitting next to him. Andre realized that Sinta was getting older and wiser. He was very proud to hear his wife's answer.

"You're getting smarter baby" praised Andre sincerely. Sinta just smiled at the compliments and husband.

"Can I graduate domestically to replace that lecturer?" ask Sinta.

"As long as he meets the criteria and passes the test. Why not?" answer Andre.

"How about Vina pa. He is still unemployed," Sinta said again. Papa Mercy who had forgotten his son-in-law's friend. Ask who Vina really is. Andre explained. Papa Mercy still does not remember. Probably because of age, memory is weakened.

"If Radit allows. I don't think it's a problem if Vina can pass the test" replied Andre. He also did not mind if Vina became a lecturer at his family's university. Vina is also a smart woman and has also passed strata two. It's just that he continued his education domestically.
