Chapter 21: The Rival?

“Sorry for my delay” Ariella entered into a meeting room filled with 11 representatives from various companies that establish cooperation, Andrew Darwin the owner of Darwin Corp looked at her with a questioning gaze.

“What does an employee do here?” asked Alberto, the middle-aged man sitting on Andrew's right side. If Ella's not mistaken the man is the board commissioner for Boya's company.

“I am Ariella Winston, by the way my current position is not a Darwin employee but an Architect as well as the second largest shareholder in Darwin.” company Ariella walked away leisurely, she was sitting on an empty chair that should have been filled by Mederick.

“Omong empty what do you say Ella?” Andrew said calmly, trying to keep his wife in front of other company delegates.

“You can check the list of Darwin's shareholders, I became the second largest shareholder since this morning” Ariella submitted a file containing the shareholding she got from Mederick.

Andrew did not believe. The same reaction Ella could see from the leaders of other companies who were there. Ariella's gaze came to a halt at the charming smiling young man in front of her.

The man looked at Ella with a faint smile, the man looked like he had known Ariella when Ella was sure he had never seen the brown-haired man in front of him. Ella only guessed that the man was one of the company leaders Andrew's colleagues had become.

Seeing the response Ariella gave made the man comment on a big smile. Ariella could feel the threat from the man's smile.

“So can we continue the meeting?” Said Ariella disconnecting her gaze from the young man in front of her.

“Sure miss” replied the Man in front of Ariella with a widening smile

The meeting went back but this time felt awkward due to the sudden arrival of Ariella. Andrew held back his anger when Ariella rejected all the ideas proposed by other directors.

“It seems that Miss Darwin did not understand the topic of our meeting this time”

Ariella stared at the figure who spoke to her in a dismissive tone.

“What do you mean sir Alberto?”

“Nona Darwin rejected all the ideas we gave because it does not understand how the concept of development we will do” said the middle-aged man still in a trivial tone.

“You will evict the people's houses and provide compensation, right? but what compensation 10 million is equivalent to their houses and plantation land that you destroyed in order to build this project” said Ariella made a state of silence immediately.

“I said I like you” reset Axel

“Sorry, I'm married” said Ariella while displaying the ring on the ring finger of her left hand.

“What's really why? I asked” Excited Axel with his big smile

“Hah?”

“I don't care even though you're married, I'll just say if I like you” Axel said that made Ariella gaping. He thought Axel was a cool guy and full of mysteries like Mederick but he wasn't

“By the way if you need help tell me, I'll do anything for the woman I love” Axel said

“No, thank you” reject Ariella quickly

“Don't refuse, Ella. Especially for you my offer will be valid for forever”

“Crazy.” Ariella said as she turned her body, walking away from Axel who was staring at Ariella's back with a faint smile

“Ariella.. You really are something.” murmured
