Sunflower Powder

Next day.

Elaine was in a fish pond in the park next to the Hospital, where she met Ellio yesterday. On his face there was no smile today, his heart was sad.

From the doctor's visit last night, the doctor said Elaine already needs serum again in the near future. The previous administration of serum, which was six months apart, made his body increasingly deficient in brain cells. Therefore doctors really hope Papa Dylan can immediately give sunflower powder faster this month.

Where else should Papa get that powder, Ma? Papa's whispering voice last night to mama, caught by Elaine's ears last night. After the papa whisper, Elaine did not hear her parents speak anymore. He only heard sobs from both of them.

God, why did I make Papa and Mama suffer? If indeed I am destined not to be able to survive in the world, it is better to immediately take me away. Don't make my body last longer, you better make me fall into a coma and take my life. Elaine cried in silence. He felt free to express his feelings because there was no papa and mama around.

“Halo, Elaine.”

That soft voice made Elaine flinch. Elliott! He immediately wiped his tears, then turned to Ellio with a smile.

“Hai, Ellio.”

Ellio looked at Elaine's teary eyes and the reddened shoots of her nose. Ellio smiled then sat in the conblock beside Elaine's wheelchair, just like her position yesterday.

“How are you doing today? Already feel better?” Ask Ellio.

Elaine shook her head. “Doctor visit yesterday, does not bring good news.” Said slowly. Then slowly, Elaine told Ellio about the doctor's request to her mother's father.

“I just want to get out of this world. Poor Papa and Mama, I've made their lives difficult for two years. They took care of me when I suddenly dropped. They also have to go everywhere looking for sunflower powder. Money spent is also not small.” Elaine rubbed her wet nose and her tears began to flow again. “If I survive just to make them suffer, I better go.”

Suddenly Ellio sang a soft song as his eyes glared at the pond. Elaine was silent to hear Ellio sing. He closed his eyes, comforted and calmer.

Then Ellio's hand stretched out, picking a purple flower that grew on the edge of the pond. Then he extended the flower to Elaine.

Elaine smiled as Ellio held out a purple flower to her. He received the flower immediately, and it was brought before him.

“Thank you.” Elaine said happily, her cheeks met red. This time she received flowers from a young boy. Although the flowers he received were very simple and only a sprig, it was enough to make his heart pound. He blushed in shame.

Suddenly, Ellio clasped Elaine's hands together. Elaine was surprised, she looked into Ellio's eyes.

“Please promise you won't give up. Whatever happens, don't give up. I've been looking forward to meeting you for a long time, looking forward to this moment. Save your life energy for me. I'll stand by you, your mom as much as I can. Just the one I asked for, don't give up. You promise?” Ellio. Elaine nodded her head even though she was actually confused by what Ellio said. All he remembers is the point, which is ‘don't give up.’

“I have to go,” Ellio said when he saw Papa Dylan approaching them, “Maybe tomorrow I'm not coming, but never feel like I'm leaving you. I'm always by your side, keep my word. If you are sad, sing the song I taught you. Remember me when you sing it. Can?” Ask Ellio again.

Elaine nodded her head. Ellio removed his hand from Elaine's hand.

“Ellio, how are you?” Papa Dylan greeted him.

“Good, Om. Sorry, I have to go. Elaine, I'm saying yes.” Ellio lowered his body slightly towards Papa Dylan, then nodded slightly at Elaine. Then he left the park.

“Ah, she's gone. So rushed. Just asked Papa, is he looking at her again?” Ask Papa Dylan, as if talking to himself.

As Elaine recalls, she also forgot to ask Ellio about herself.

A boy with his tiny wings sits on a field of sunflowers. He sang a little while stroking the flowers around him. Every now and then her tiny hands spread something and seemed to splash fresh dew out from her palms. All the sunflowers around her opened her petals wide, as if welcoming the dew hatch that the child was spreading.

The boy stood up from his seat, then his little wings began to flap and lift his small body into the air. From above the expanse of sunflower fields, he flew here and there while continuing to spread his dew. The whole field he passed tirelessly through, he continued to spread his dew.

“I need your powder! A lot of powder! I need your powder, a lot of powder!” He cried many times to the field from the sky. The sunflowers below him nodded in understanding, and saw the sunflower powders as they evaporated into the air, emanating from every wide open sunflower petal facing the sky. Overjoyed, the boy immediately removed the cloth bag tied to his belt and flew back and forth, collecting the pollen.

“Thank you... Thank you!” The exclamation is repeated so that all the powder can be collected. With a smile on his lips, the bag was closed and he immediately flew to the western horizon, where a giant sunflower developed, the flower that was the residence of the boy.

Carefully, he placed the pouch at the crown of his giant sunflower. Then he lay down between the pistils of the sunflower and covered his body with sheets of sunflowers. The boy closed his eyes, tired after a few days of spreading dew and collecting sunflower powder. His lips smiled in his sleep, he dreamed, dreaming of a little girl with curly blonde was smiling at him.
