Determining Choices

Elaine woke up from her sleep. But how surprised he was when he realized, he was not in his room anymore. Looked at the room, the walls were all white. The blanket that covered his body was also white in color. Elaine glanced at his hand, a needle stuck in the back of his hand. The infirmary?

Elaine complained in her heart. Did Papa and Mama put him in here because they thought he was sick?

Elaine heard footsteps approaching her. He opened his eyes a little. A doctor and a nurse were heading towards him. As soon as they reached Elaine's bed, they worked, checking this and that.

“Patients are fully aware. Allow parents to enter.” Doctor's orders to his nurse.

A few moments later, my mother entered with tears.

“Elaine, darling, thank goodness you're sober, son.” Issue mama. She hugged Elaine and kissed her cheek.

“Ma... I why?” Ask Elaine. His voice was hoarse, his throat was dry.

“You're not as aware as you were yesterday, son. Three more days. Is anyone sick? If anyone's sick, tell Mama, son. Don't you shut up. Are you angry with Mom and Dad? Papa and Mama if angry there is also a reason, son. Don't hate us, yeah. Forgive Papa and Mama if being too hard on you, makes you sad. Don't be reckless, son, don't leave us.” Mama sniffled again.

Elaine scrunched her forehead. There's something weird here.

“Ma, I ain't what. I'm not mad at Papa and Mama.” He said weakly, his throat still hurts.

“Thank God, Son. Thank you for understanding my love for you Papa and Mama. Next time don't be reckless, son?” Mama said again, still with her voice trembling.

Elaine shook her head. Something's wrong here. Why is Mama saying that? Nekat what? Do I think I tried to kill myself because Papa and Mama were angry yesterday?

Elaine let out her breath. He wanted to argue, but his throat was still sore. Eventually Elaine closed her eyes, choosing to go back to sleep. He better be quiet, don't argue with his mother.

Closing her eyes, Elaine kept thinking. He imagined the face of Papa and Mama who he first saw when he just realized from his coma. Mama's sad face and papa's face whose feelings are shattered. What if I decide to follow Ellio to the fairy world? Am I going to die? How much sadness do you and your mom have, how deeply do they feel?

Today Elaine was discharged from the hospital, after three days in the ICU and one day in a regular inpatient room. The doctor has done an examination and Elaine has been declared healthy. Of course, because of the cause of Elaine falling asleep not because of illness, but because of the drug from Ellio.

One thing Elaine has just realized. Mom and Dad talked about Edward more and more. Invite Edward to study together. Invite Edward for a vacation with us this weekend. Take Edward out for a walk after school, so you don't get lonely. Edward's and Edward's, papa and mama's talk to Elaine is largely dominated by Edward.

The day after Elaine was discharged from the hospital, she started school again. Just then Elaine sensed, Edward's attitude began to change for her.

“Ed, why you? How are you weird today?” Elaine asked as they ate in the cafeteria. At that time Oliver and Michelle were queuing at another food stall, only Elaine and Edward were already sitting at the cafeteria dining table.

“O yes? I'm normal with.” Answer Edward. Elaine was silent but watched Edward. Edward was quieter, not as cheerful as usual.

Eventually they eat in silence, except for Michelle and Oliver. Edward and Eline only spoke as necessary.

“Ngg... El, later after school hours, can we talk?” Edward asked hesitantly, after they finished lunch and just the two of them. Elaine nodded her head.

“But don't be long yes, because I picked up Ellio.” Said Elaine again. Edward nodded. They didn't say much because after that Oliver and Michelle rejoined them.

“You said what?” Elaine asked Edward that afternoon in class. School hours are over and the other students have left class. Only Edward and Elaine are in the class.

“Ngg...” Edward looks hesitant.

“Ga what, Ed. By the way.” Elaine said quickly, trying to remove Edward's hesitation.

“Ngg... A-I just want to say..” Edward again looks hesitant. He looked at Elaine's eyes, then immediately threw away his gaze.

Elaine did not speak, she just looked at Edward, waiting for him to speak.

“Ngg... There is a plan among our parents,” Edward swallowed his saliva, “To me... Ngg... Match up ki-kita..” Continue slowly, while glancing to see Elaine's reaction.

Elaine widened her eyes.

“What?” Ask, surprised.

Edward looked at Elaine's face.

“Ngg... A-I know, you've been with Ellio, ta-but, our parents insisted..” Edward said again. He was worried that Elaine would faint at the news she was telling him.

Elaine was still speechless, she was completely shocked. Why did Mama and Papa match me with Edward? What's to keep Ellio away?

Elaine's tears are dripping. How unhappy his parents are with Ellio, even though Ellio has saved his life. Ellio's fault is only one, which is getting into Elaine's room.

“Ngg.. El, l-if you don't mind, can we try.” Edward reconnects his words hesitantly.

Elaine raised her eyes when she heard Edward's words. “No!” Hysterical shouting.

“El.. Listen to me first!” Edward exclaimed, trying to keep Elaine calm. “I mean, we're just going through it so that our parents are calm! Bu-Not a real date, I mean.” Keep Edward on again.

“Then what about our parents? They keep pushing us, El! I mean, so that they don't chase us.” Obviously Edward again.

“You're serious? You didn't turn down the time your mom set us up? You know I have Ellio!” Ketus Elaine's.

Edward sighed, then steadily he began to stare at Elaine. Elaine shuddered at Edward's gaze.

“A-I actually... Like you..” His words were slow, but it sounded like a firecracker in Elaine's ear.

“No! That's not true!” He shouted again, then he quickly picked up his bag and left the classroom. No matter what Edward was still trying to explain his feelings.

Elaine kept running along the school corridor. Her tears did not stop flowing.

Arriving at the school gate, Ellio was already leaning against the school gate, waiting for Elaine's arrival. He was silent to see Elaine approaching him while crying.

Elaine immediately grabs Ellio's hand and pulls him to leave school. Along the way home, he spoke nothing but still clasped Ellio's hand. Ellio let himself be dragged along by Elaine all the way to his house.

They had stopped walking and sat on a park bench in the city park. There Elaine cried so hard, venting her feelings of disappointment on her parents. Ellio was just speechless, sitting next to Elaine. He already knew everything from his ability to read Elaine's mind.

After crying, they continued on their way home to Elaine.

Arriving at home, Elaine clasped Ellio's hand and pulled him into the living room. Ellio let Elaine do as she pleased.

“Mama! Maa...” Elaine shouted in the living room, shortly after they passed the door of the house. Mama who was in the kitchen, immediately approached Elaine.

“Elaine? What's up.” Mama's words were interrupted when she saw Ellio was there too.

“Mama? Why did Mom and Dad match me with Edward?” Tears flooded Elaine's cheeks.

“Elaine, that.....,” mama stuttered, surprised Elaine directly attacked him with that question.

“I don't want Edward!” Shouted Elaine hysterically.

“El.. El..” This time Ellio opened his voice, he immediately grabbed Elaine and leaned her against his chest.

Mama's eyes grew up watching Ellio hug Elaine.

“You! How dare you! Release Elaine!” Excited mad mama.

“Tante, please! Please don't be like this!” Said Ellio quietly.

But your anger ignited Elaine's emotions again.

“I just want with Ellio! I don't want anything else!” It's Elaine again.

“Elaine! Don't be disrespectful to Mama!” Reprimanded mama because Elaine yelled in front of her. “You don't know how sorry Papa and Mama are to you! We just want what's best for you, not what's ruining you!” Keep mom again.

“Who is destructive? I'm not broken!” Denied Elaine hard.

“Elaine!” Reprove Mama again. He pointed to Elaine's room.

“Log into your room! Wait for Papa to come home, and we'll talk! Ellio, you're home!” Mother's orders again.

“No! Don't want! I was disappointed with Papa and Mama, I think Papa and Mama love me, it turns out I was wrong! Papa and Mama only attach importance to the will of Papa and Mama!” Elaine screamed while crying.

“Elaine!” Tegur mama the third time. This time he went straight to Elaine and pulled his hand towards Elaine's room.

“No, no want!” Elaine continued to rebel but her strength was defeated by the angry power of her mother. Ellio who tried to keep Elaine in his arms could not do much because he did not want to be judged bad again by Mama Angel.

“Wicked Father! Bad mama! I just want Ellio! I've never asked Papa and Mama for anything, have I? Now I ask! I just want Ellio!” Elaine shouted in between her steps towards the room. Tears kept flowing down her cheeks.

“Ellio! Ellio!” The exclamation repeated over and over while looking at Ellio.

Ellio was only fixated on seeing the scene before his eyes. She didn't expect Mama Angel to be that angry.

“Elaine!” Suddenly my mom screamed.

Ellio jerks. He saw Elaine collapsing on the doorstep of his room.
