Part 8's

Lunch time has finally arrived. Jared has done his job productively though his mind repeatedly leads to unimportant things. For the first time he felt tired after 5 hours of work. Usually working a marathon is a pleasure for him but somehow today he forced himself a little. Without lingering he arranged his desk, took a suit and stepped out of the room. Fira greeted him politely. From the beginning Jared was able to see a different look from Fira's eyes towards him. His secretary put feelings for him, only he was able to control himself because of work. If not for his excellent competence, Jared would have fired Fira long ago.

On the ground floor, Jared exited the elevator with his flat expression. All employees should know that he will always be cold to them.

"Good day, Mr. Jared," greet some of the employees he passed by. Jared just gave a small nod then walked quickly with his long steps.

In his heart he wished not to see Shanon. For 5 hours he tried not to remember anything about the woman. He should also not open his mouth about what he has done to the company leadership. When the rumor spread, the woman dug her own grave. Jared doesn't feel guilty at all. He didn't start anything against Shanon.

Almost at the front door, his eyes caught someone he was desperate to avoid. This time, the woman was not alone. He was with Hans who he knew worked in the HRD department. Unknowingly, his steps stopped. Jared knew what he wanted from now on. He wanted to know how Shanon was after what happened this morning. Naturally Jared was worried, however he had said that someone he would order to take care of Shanon, but because it was too shocking he forgot about it. Now that there was no need to ask, Jared already knew the answer. Shannon is still in the healing process. He had not even been able to use his right foot properly, evident from Hans who helped him walk with so much attention. They look good, why doesn't Shanon go after the guy?

Right in front of the lobby sofa, Hans arranged the position of Shanon's legs to sit well. Seeing that alone has given Jared an understanding that the man likes Shanon. It clucked. Two strange creatures like them deserve to be together. They were talking about something as he passed by. The woman, Shanon, is certainly aware of her presence. Jared did not look at them but got a polite greeting from the two.

"Good day, Mr. Jared's."

Jared passed them just like that with an arrogant face typical of company leaders. He hoped that the woman would understand that whatever she did, Jared would not be affected. Shanon's game is too rotten. He understood what the woman's purpose was. It will not fall in the same hole for the umpteenth time.

"What do you want for lunch?" hans asked so kindly. After learning that Shanon was injured, Hans is immediately present to take care of him. He was so kind that Shanon could not resist him in the slightest.

"Order as you ordered."

Hans nodded. "Do your ankles feel comfortable?" He turned his head at Shanon's ankle with a worried expression.

Shanon could only laugh a little while saying, "I'm okay."

Simultaneously, Jared flashed with his hands inside the pouch and his cold expression. Shanon and Hans greeted him, though he received no response. He sneered. After what happened, the man was still like a stiff wood. Shanon clucking small. As if he was boiling a very hard wood, Shanon never knew when Jared would soften against him. He will give a little time before the next plan is carried out.

"I'll be gone for a while, don't move much" Hans said before leaving him there alone.

Lowy pokes Shanon's arm just after Hans leaves. "Hey, are you two officially a couple?"

Shanon widened his mouth, though he voiced laughter. "No Wy, he's just a good friend."

"Are you crazy to waste a man as handsome as Hans? The position is also good here."

Shanon. "If you want to do it for yourself." He smiles. "He's still alone. I'm sure you can."

"Ugh, don't make fun of me" Lowy said with an embarrassed smile.

"I know you're a beautiful queen. With a little incantation, every man will kneel before you."

"Damn it! You're embarrassing me, Shany."

Shanon laughing. He is a very easy friend to tease. Lowy has never been attached to one man for a long time. He falls in love easily but never lasts long for one man. A person may hurt him, hurt him so much that the thought formed is a distrust of the relationship for a long time.

Lunch with Hans. This man's attention sometimes confused him. He has a very long plan. Now was not the time for him to think about Hans. Shanon doesn't want anyone involved in his plans. Maybe Hans is perfect as a lover but Shanon does not want a lover who is innocent and does not understand reality. Love is not just jokes, laughter, and lust. Shanon already understands all kinds of bad feelings that follow love. There is no perfect happiness. The pain is an incredible role in love. He doesn't want anyone to get hurt.

"I'll take you home later," Hans softly said.

Shanon. "It's okay. I'm fine, Hans. I can use the bus."

"In this situation?" point it at Shanon's ankle. "Let me take care of you today."

"You treated me like a baby. I'll probably continue to rely on you" Shannon laughed jokingly.

"I don't mind," Hans replied with a serious face.

Shanon shakes no longer refutes. He does need Hans' help, at least for today.

For five days Shanon did not carry out any further plans against Jared at all, except in the morning where he always opened the door for him. Since the incident Jared kept his distance from him, Shanon knew because the man did not want to say hello, glance or make the slightest sound to show his presence.

Shannon never minded. Shamelessly he continued to do the task even greeting Jared kindly.

The first day he said hello, "Good morning Mr. Jared's."

Day three, "Good morning, Our Handsome Boss."

Day four, "Good morning, Mr. No Expression."

Lastly, this morning, Shanon said, "Good morning, Honey."

This time he got a sharp glare response from Jared even though he was still silent. The man he was waiting for looked even more attractive by being such a nonchalant. Maybe Jared has trouble controlling his feelings. Shanon is happy to learn that he is still talented in giving surprises to Jared Walter. A sweet smile still lingered on her lips especially after she visited the employee break room. During these five days he always visited the historical place. Every time he visited there a passionate feeling filled his chest. The break room gave him hope that Jared would be his.

Eight o'clock in the morning as Shanon and Lowy were busy at work, some employees ran towards the lobby towards the exit. He frowned while looking at their panicked faces.

"FIRE!" shouted one of the female employees.

Shanon's eyes widened. "Fire?!"

The situation triggered the attention of all employees until everything scattered out of the office.

"What's burning?" lowy asked no less panicked.

"It looks like it's from the break room" replied the HRD staff. That made Shanon grimace. The break room he said? How could?

"Who's handling it there?"

"Some people from the security forces."

Shannon rubbed her hair. The break room is not the employee's favorite place, so how can it burn? Someone must be working on it, or looking for trouble with it. Did Jared? No. gabe. There was no way Jared would do such a thing just to upset him. Then who is he? Does he know anything about his plans?

An hour had passed since the fire from the room was extinguished. All the employees got together and were still talking about the chronology of the incident. Shanon has not commented much. He just kept quiet and listened to them.

"I don't know, all of a sudden a plume of smoke came out of the room" said one of them.

"We don't go there very often so we don't know who's going to burn the bed."

Robert arrived and entered the crowd. The conversation about the incident stopped immediately. Shannon's feelings say something bad is about to happen, evident from Robert's angry gaze that leads to her.

"You, how can you vent your anger this way?" accuse Robert of it.

Shanon's mouth was shocked. The other employees looked at him suspiciously. They charged?

"I sir?" shanon asked in an inexhaustible manner.

"Staff from the HRD department saw you walk out of the room half an hour before the fire broke out" Robert said. "What's your goal, Shanon? You want to burn this whole building?"

"Sir, I'm not the culprit" Shanon defended confidently.

"But it's true sir. I saw Shanon come out of that room this morning" said the HRD employee.

"I didn't do anything, sir. I dare to vouch."

Robert shakes. "You're in big trouble, Shanon."

Shanon's heart pounded as the employees split up to make way for someone. Company leader, Jared. He closed his eyes while cursing his misfortune today. One cannot survive with happiness streak. He looked nervously at Jared who showed a scary look full of intimidation.

Shanon's hands suddenly cold. He was innocent but why did he feel that no one believed in his words? Amidst this crowd, would Jared humiliate him? Shannon nervously raised her head and ventured to look straight at the director's bead.

He hopes a miracle will make Jared realize that he will not damage the place by burning it. He believes Jared will support him. But this man before him was not his strong defensive fortress. Jared is not his yet so the voice that sings firmly without feeling it proves everything.

"Lift the feet of my company," he ordered so arrogantly. "You're fired!"
