Today Shanon deliberately came half an hour earlier than usual. He had already fixed some things he had previously designed. All this is thanks to yesterday. He still could not believe that something that was not in his plan was able to make a big impact that led him to a stroke of luck.
Jared, as he had expected, did not reply to his short message. He may be in a dilemma or wondering where his responsive actions come from.
Shanon clucked in excitement while stirring a cup of hot coffee in his hand. One wish today. May that luck still be on her side.
The office is still so quiet considering it is still at 7 am. Jared will arrive soon, so Shanon prepares everything to look more natural. He will take action based on Jared's response to him later. How wonderful this experience will be if he manages to carry it out smoothly.
Shanon glanced at his watch. It was 7:10 but the director never showed his handsome face. He grumbled in annoyance. What if the coffee gets cold? Should I make new coffee?
Busy with his own thoughts, he almost missed the moment where Jared entered the office. His heart was pounding as his mouth muttered casually, "I'm sorry I couldn't open the door for you today, baby."
It cringes. Where's Jimmy? Why didn't he open the door for Jared?
The director's long move made Shanon a little desperate to determine the right time to appear. Trouble he swallowed his saliva as he decided to step in with his broken heels. His hands continued to stir the coffee which was now warm without paying attention to the surroundings. Shannon knows the right moment to do this. He is confident he can do it as perfectly as possible.
"Good morning Mr. Jared." he said kindly with a big smile.
Unfortunately, despite the quiet atmosphere, Jared was not interested in starting a conversation, returning his greeting even to glance at him a little. Shanon felt a little coxed, so with tightened lips he wiggled the heels of his shoes and dropped himself. The sound of broken glass with complaints of pain filled the lobby that was still quiet.
"Aw!" Shit! It really hurts. Shanon rubbed his hand that was hit by the steeping of his warm coffee.
Uh Damn!
As he expected, Jared would kneel beside him with a worried expression in a matter of seconds.
"Can you do something right?!" jared snapped while holding his hand which started to show red marks.
"Aw sick," he lamented with a grimacing face.
Jared clenched his teeth with angry eyes. Shanon wants gentle attention but the opposite is true. He looked at Shanon with sharp eyes full of anger.
"You have to stop working in my company" snapped Jared again.
Shanon. The coffee did give him more pain than he imagined, but he could not complain too much. His brain immediately worked to touch the ankle with eyes staring at the sliver of the shoe with his broken heel.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Jared's."
Jared stared in the same direction at his feet and shoes. "You're still wearing worn out shoes like that?"
"I don't have much of a shoe collection, Mr. Jared's. I can't afford to spend money on that kind of thing."
With that the director stared at him for quite a while. That cold expression made Shanon a little nervous. Was he found out? If traced deeper into this kind of incident would not have been possible so easily. Shanon already felt almost insane being stared at so sharply by the man he was after. Fortunately when he intended to complain again, Jared immediately carried him. The unexpected act made hope soar in Shanon's heart.
One step closer.
Jared took him to the employee break room. Not many employees come to this room unless their condition is not healthy. Unbeknownst to Jared, Shanon gave a small smile of feeling victorious.
Jared carefully sat him on the small bed. This man seemed unfamiliar with the condition of the small and narrow room. The atmosphere was a little awkward as no one had started the conversation for quite a long time.
"I will tell them to bring ointment for your hand. Your ankle seems to be injured. If you can't work, take a break" Jared said flatly before moving to leave the room.
"Am I going to get fired?"
"You're speaking informally to me anymore?"
Shanon looked at him uneasily. "You know what I've done. I can't talk formally when there's only the two of us in this room."
Jared looked at him as if weighing what to say. "You're incompetent, always careless, also unprofessional. If it wasn't for your comment about not being able to buy shoes then I would have definitely fired you right now. Let's just say I pity you. If possible, then you must return in training to practice your bad skills. You're gonna hurt the company if you keep getting hurt like this." Jared walked intimidatedly closer to Shanon. "So remember, you've got some warnings from me. Take care of your attitude then I will consider your existence here."
Jared frowning. "I acted humanely. You don't have to overestimate everything." He put both his hands into a bag of trousers which plainly showed a wall of separation that was towering between the two of them. "Be formal with me." That's a threat, though it sounds sweet to Shanon now.
Jared was about to turn around when Shannon spontaneously pulled her arm up to fall on the bed. Jared's eyes widened to make Shanon feel satisfied. Without a second thought, Shanon wrapped his hand around Jared's neck and then pulled it until their lips touched. Shannon kisses Jared Walter, the man she dreams of and the director of the company she works for. Her lips only touched the man's lips briefly. Shanon just wanted to give a sign that from now on, those lips would be his.
He took off his lip-touch over the warm lips, then laid his head casually on the bed, just below the support of Jared Walter's sturdy body. He was very happy. I want to feel like he shouted to voice that happiness but now is not the time because Jared is still in the same position with a surprised face and a sculpted body. Shanon was afraid that his prince had a heart attack, even though it made no sense, but he had to melt the atmosphere.
"It's our first kiss. I'm waiting for the moment where you will take the initiative to do it yourself" whispered Shanon gently with a flaky smile.
Hearing that Jared snapped consciously then stood up. He tidied up his clothes then stared intently at Shanon. "You made me think about how bad you really are."
Then he passed leaving Shanon chortling coldly.
"You'd be surprised to find out how bad I am, Mr. Jared" he muttered with a cynical smile.
Jared took a quick step towards the elevator after leaving the room. This is totally absurd. He could not believe that such a simple-looking woman with such an innocent look would do such an immoral thing. Hells! He is no ordinary employee. The woman knew she was the head of a company that was married and had children. There was no hope for any woman to be with him.
This woman is brave.
Shannon.
Jared shook his head remembering that name. In the elevator, he was still pensive. The woman was like giving poison that made her unsettled since the beginning of their meeting. He will solve this problem as soon as possible. Jared grumbling. He promised not to do anything to the woman. Why did he help her earlier? Why is he always trapped?
Jared entered his room after first getting a greeting from his secretary in the morning. He always arrived earlier than anyone including his own secretary. Jared doesn't like to get attention from others. He felt uncomfortable, therefore always avoid the gaze of adoring employees with a faster presence.
He exhaled a long breath while hanging up his suit. He ruffled his own hair as it suddenly felt chaotic. How much influence does the woman have over her? How long will he feel about this unpleasant situation? Should he have a mutation against the receptionist?
Suddenly he remembered the phrase Shanon, I don't have much collection of shoes, Mr. Jared's. I can't afford to spend money on that kind of thing.
C'mon Jared, since when are you not this professional?
No matter where he whispered, he got the answer 'Since meeting with Shanon.'
He sat down with his grim expression. This is really not good. Forget everything that happened. It is just a temptation to her home life. It has to work. Without much thought he took the files that were piled up on his desk.
Work was able to distract him but every time he finished a file, his mind went back to the woman. Shannon.
That plain face.
That bold action.
The softness of those lips.
He growled while rubbing his eyes. His body rested on the chair with his eyes closed. His heart pounded very quickly when the tiny and soft lips touched his lips. The whisper of the woman stopped her logical mind. What a little touch the woman was able to make her not warty.
He had never experienced anything like this even with his wife. He always has the power to make others not warty. Now things are turning around. He felt like a puppet.
Slowly Jared took a breath and then exhaled. His hands clenched firmly as thoughts of finding out about Shanon began to surface. It can't be like this. Goddamnit! It's just a little touch, Jared. Are you lacking attention? Are you stupid?
That woman was just using you. How can you think of getting closer and feeling it?
Damn it!
You should kill yourself, Jared.
