Whiter

Whiter
The Part 10

This morning Jared entered the office feeling uneasy. For three days he had nightmares. Last night was the worst. He dreamed the company he led went bankrupt suddenly and then employees demo large with claims of compensation to him. Anxiety has always been clouding him lately. Everything about the company is going well.

As he was about to enter the office, he recalled the woman's behavior. She must have opened the door and greeted him with strange greetings. Last time he used the word 'honey'. The woman had no idea how much Jared wanted to praise and scold her incredible bravery.

He clucked funny as he walked quickly into the elevator. If others heard how he was teasing this married director then he would have already been severely insulted. He also realized that Shanon always came early just to greet him in the morning.

Jared frowning. What is he thinking? Just now he was thinking about Shanon. Did he miss the receptionist's ridiculous deeds?

Impossible.

It was just a sudden annoyance that appeared as a memory of an incompetent employee.

The elevator opened and he quickly entered the room. For the first time the atmosphere inside here felt stifling and boring. Jared stretched before sitting down. He needs something as entertainment. Maybe later he will have to go down the field and check the readiness of the location that he will make a restaurant. Yeah, at least it'll restore his spirit.

At exactly 8 o'clock, Fira entered his room.

"Good morning, Mr. Jared," he said with a big smile. He put a stack of files on the table and then started with his explanation.

"These are the files you requested yesterday. This one," Fira thrusts a chocolate map. "It's a file on the case of the arson of the dugout three days ago, Mr. Jared's. The investigation team you formed has completed their task. All the information is in this map. They need your decision after this report is submitted. That's all for this morning, Mr. Jared's. I'm ahead if you need anything. Excuse me."

Jared nodded and took the chocolate map. The fate of the receptionist depended on the facts the team found. Intrigued by the contents, he opened the map and found several sheets of paper containing photos and explanations in it. Jared read everything in detail. His eyes squinted not expecting something like this could happen in his company.

It's been three days that Shanon has been unemployed. Some things he has done and tried to live happily for a while. He's been seeing Viella and has been shopping for food and other necessities on discounted days, but still. The mood feels unstable.

Living like this is like living on the edge of a cliff. Shannon lives in uncertainty. If they fire him then he knows what to do to find a job but the fact they hang his fate. He did not know how long he would be unemployed, nor did he know whether he would still work at Noire or not. I don't know what happened at the company. Did they do an investigation? Where has the investigation gone? Are there facts that can help him?

Shanon shuffled his own hair. It's boring to be home all day without knowing what to do. It takes time to breathe fresh air. Yes, he had to take a walk in the park to get his mind fresh again.

After changing into more casual clothes, Shanon came out of his small flat. Not forgetting to lock the house, he walked quickly at least hoping it was as a morning sport that he missed earlier. The air at 9:40 felt a little stinging. Evident from the sweat that began to wet his forehead. The park is still a little far away, he can not give up by relaxing in the cafe and spend the money again.

His breath was puffed up when he finally arrived at the park. Not so many people at this hour. Shanon sits on a garden chair with bulging cheeks. Everyone must be at work now while he sits and looks lazing here.

Shannon shook her hands in front of her face. At least his movements gave him a little wind.

Again this kind of sad thing happened to him. As he thought he already had everything suddenly fate gave way to another. The road was so bad that he fell down and could not stand up again.  Shannon knows the pain. The world treated her so cruelly then made her a hard woman. He's tough enough to handle this kind of thing. Shannon believes the world will never betray her twice.

The sun is getting stinging. Shannon was very thirsty. If he continued to behave in this torturous manner, he would soon die. Giving up on the situation, he was forced to go to the nearest cafe. How foolish it was to not bring his own drinking water from home. It should be more economical.

On her weight trip, Shanon sees a familiar black sedan. He nodded with an unintelligent smile. His eyes have been catching things related to Jared lately. He tried his best not to call or text the man. But since then he has always caught things related to him.

Dani, a teenager he knew for living close to him, was seen walking fast, almost running towards the sedan. Shanon smiled slightly as he watched what the little teenager was doing. The car owner got out. Dani who pretended to accidentally hit the car owner caused suspicion from Shanon. Obviously Dani saw the car since then. There's no way he didn't do it on purpose, right?.

And what is this?

Jared's?

Dani hit Jared?

Really Jared?

What's that guy doing here?

Dani was like saying sorry before hurriedly running towards him. Shanon stared at the two in turn until he realized what was happening. Coinciding with that, Jared shows a reaction that convinces him that Dani has stolen his wallet.

His eyes widened and then stared intently at Dani who was running hastily without realizing her presence there. Shannon nimbly pulled Dani's hand as it passed almost past her. His grip was tight, so tight that Dani's rostrum had no effect at all.

"Dani, take off the wallet or you'll be in big trouble" Shanon threatened with tightening lips.

Dani turns back to realize who's holding him. "Sister Shany? Let go of me, brother. I need this money."

"You can't find a way out by committing a crime!"

"Let go!" ronta Dani wants to escape.

With the initiative and sensitivity that Jared was almost near them, Shanon let go of his hand and suddenly pulled the wallet from Dani's grasp.

"Run or you'll be in jail!" growled Shanon let go of one of his hands again. Dani looked surprised and did not understand the situation but without thinking he ran fast away from Shanon.

He let out a deep breath when Jared arrived beside him. "Why did you let the thief escape, miss?"

Shanon smiled faintly. Destiny brought him to the prince. He turned slowly. He believes Jared did not think he saved his wallet today. The shocked expression so thick on Jared's face made Shanon cluck.

"This is your wallet." He handed it over just like that then folded his hands in front of his chest.

Jared looked at him suspiciously. "You followed me to this place?"

Shanon smiled obliquely. "I am indeed unemployed for the time being but I don't have time to follow you, Mister Spicy Mouthed."

"It's not an office" Shannon said quickly.

Jared narrowed his eyes as he kept his wallet back. "Why did you let him get away?"

Shannon shrugged her shoulders. "Not everyone lives well like you, Jared Walter. Financial problems sometimes make people like us act beyond reason."

"So you let a criminal live free in this town?"

"He's just a teenager who's still in school. I know him and know his difficulties. I don't want to add to his life's problems" Shannon said with firmness. "I managed to get your wallet back. So no problem, is it?"

Jared just gave him a long look that he didn't understand. After a while he took a deep breath and then turned his attention by staring at the condition of the garden.

"What are you doing here?" he asked without looking at Shanon.

"Now are you curious about my activities?" He raised both eyebrows when Jared turned his lazy head to him.

"I asked because I know you."

"So you're aware of my presence?"

"Can you stop looking at every question I ask?" jared asked with irritated intonation.

Shannon laughed and lowered her hand. "I'm looking for some fresh air."

"The air is no longer fresh at 10:20 a.m."

Shanon squinted his eyes. "Can you stop reading every statement I make?"

This time Shanon nullifies the sentence just like Jared did before.

Scores 1:1

Instead of being angry, Jared even clucked to make Shanon's heart pound.

"Then what do company leaders do here, in working hours like this?" shanon asked with a friendly expression.

"I'm looking at my assets" Jared replied as he looked around.

Shanon's eyes widened. "This park is yours?"

"You still asking?"

"God. You must be very rich," Shannon praised with a look of admiration.

Jared laughed at the compliment. "I want to set up a restaurant here."

"Why?"

"What kind of question is that?" Jared's forehead frowned. "You're an incompetent employee."

He sneered. "I wasn't your employee for a while so stop making fun of me."

He let out a long breath as if he had to explain. "This place is strategic and often visited by many people. There are no restaurants nearby so the opportunity to advance the business is huge."

"You're gonna take the park away?"

"Why did I do it?" Jared looked at the park once more. "This park has become a public attraction. I'll build a building on the north side" he pointed out excitedly. "And this garden I'll arrange to be more beautiful."

As Jared was calm and free to talk to him like this, he looked radiant. Shanon never expected that they would have a casual chat like this after what happened in the office. Hold still. Is this the impact of Jared's longing for him? Shanon chuckled.

"Why are you laughing?" Jared showed a confused expression. "Is there anything funny here?"

Shanon rolled his eyeballs. "Stop acting like a fierce boss here. I was just thinking of something funny."

"You think about it while I'm explaining my business plan?" He raised both his eyebrows.

"Who would listen to your business ramblings on this sunny morning?" shanon's comments were full of courage. "I'm thirsty."

Jared did not respond to his sentence making Shanon continue. "You're really insensitive, Jared. I helped you and now I'm thirsty. Why don't you offer tea in return?"

Jared ignored him by stepping away past him just like that. "I didn't ask you to help me."

He looked at the man's back then followed with jerking steps.

"Fuck you, Jared Walter!"
