Chapters 7. Mandalawangi

The information just obtained by Project Wanara team members about who Darma and Julia really are makes them amazed. Moreover, they were like burning burning fire of spirit to be able to get better. So too with Rama. Behind his slump, Rama is very motivated and makes him back up. Rama is convinced that one day he will definitely reach a much higher level than Darma and Julia.

Then Darma explained briefly about the potential improvement training that will be carried out in Project Wanara.

“Alright, now I will explain about the training place.” Darma began to explain.

“Each project has a different training place and spread in various regions of the Pasundan mountains. Dasamuka at Puncak Cikuray, Anantareja at Puncak Kendang, Dewabrata at Puncak Patuha, Punakawan at Puncak Burangrang, Brahma at Puncak Manglayang and Wanara at Puncak Mandalawangi.” Darma explained slowly.

“Today we will leave for Mandalawangi Peak. Anything to ask?” ask Darma to the entire team.

“What do we need to prepare Mr Darma?” ask Ayu.

“You do not need to bring anything, all your needs and equipment we have prepared at Puncak Mandalawangi.” Answer Darma.

“Sorry Mr Darma, how long will we train at the top of Mandalawangi?” ask Yuna.

“You will be in that place for approximately 1 year” replied Darma.

“Yang sure Mr. Darma, it's a time that is not short” Galih said

responding.

“Yaaa is right that.. I joined because of the lure of 10 million dollars a month. But the money is useless on the mountain sir...!!!” rama added.

“ The mood became quiet.

“Did he really join just for money?” thought Dirga wondering.

“Well are there any other questions?” Darma did not respond to Rama's words.

“Is something wrong? Looks like I was ignored.” thought Rama.

“If all have understood, I will share a watch and emblem for you.” Darma.

Darma contacts a person through the communication tool attached to his ear. Not long after, someone entered carrying a box with a size that was not too large. The box contained watches and emblems for the entire team.

Darma opened the box and started to re-explain…

“This is a special emblem of Project Wanara. This emblem is your identity as a member of the Wanara Project team. Each project has an emblem with a different symbol. The symbol for Project Wanara is White Ape.” Darma.

“Dasamuka has the symbol of Golden Dragon, the symbol for Anantareja is Silver Eagle, while Devabrata is White Tiger, then Punakawan has the symbol of Ash Wolf, and Brahma is Black Bear. This emblem is your identity, always use the emblem on your left chest while training is ongoing.” he added.

“Next is a watch. This watch is made of very strong and sturdy material, it is very difficult to destroy this watch. The function of this watch is almost similar to the Saktih capsule. This watch can display the potential value you have in real time. In addition, this watch can detect your heart rate. In the event of things that could endanger your life, this watch will immediately send a signal to us. That is one form of anticipation that we prepare so that you do not lose your lives as the training progresses. Please take this watch and emblem one by one.”

“Pak Darma, if indeed this watch can predict potential, why do we still need Saktih Capsules?” ask Yuna.

“The accuracy rate of Baktih Capsules is 100%, while this watch only reaches 75%. Although not as accurate as Saktih Capsules, this watch can still be used as an indicator. We chose this watch for its practicality reasons.” Answer Darma.

“Well I understand Mr. darma.” Yuna responded to Darma's explanation.

The entire team walked forward one by one to retrieve the emblem and the watch that had been prepared. Start with Galih who first advanced. Instead of taking the emblem, put it on the left chest. Then take the watch and put it on your left hand. Not long after Galih put on a watch, there was something strange.

“Ahh...” Suddenly Galih yells.

“.....” The other team members were confused.

“What does it hurt?” ask Darma.

“Not too sick actually.. I was just surprised earlier.” Answer Galih.

“Good...” Darma.

“Actually behind this watch there is a small needle that serves to take a little sample of your blood. The sample was used to look at and identify DNA. Once the DNA identification process is successful, this watch will only be yours. No one else will be able to use it. This needs to be done so that we can monitor your development more easily and precisely, because each watch has a different codification. Make sure you do not remove or damage your emblem and watch” Darma continues his explanation.

“Well thank you Mr. Darma.” Galih.

After that, the other team members took turns taking their respective emblems and watches, until Rama's turn came. Darma watches Rama closely for fear that the previous events will repeat themselves.

“Argh...” Rama screamed loudly.

“What happened..?!!” darma asked in shock at Rama's extremely loud shout.

“Eh...” Rama is confused to see Darma looks very worried.

“Nothing happened Mr. Darma, I just feel very excited about receiving this emblem and watch.” Answer Rama.

“Then don't shout recklessly.. Just be surprised..” said Darma.

“Sorry.. Sorry... Pak” Rama responded with a shy smile.

Not long after Rama used the watch, Tiying.

“Why be the number 8 Pak Darma.???” rama shouted after seeing the potential value displayed by the watch. The number 10 alone has surprised Rama, the numbers displayed by the watch actually make Rama more shocked and worse.

“Receive it...” replied Darma soberly.

“I have to fight harder...” Said Rama lirih.

Julia and Yuna gave a small smile at the mannerisms of Rama and Darma. Unlike Ayu who laughed loudly.

“Heh Ayu. Here Ayu is the most innocent loh... Ha ha ha...” Rama responds to the words ayu with a joke and forgets its potential value.

“All members have received emblems and watches. Whenever the potential value of the master and miss increased, the watch would instantly inform. Then the watch will continue to display the number of potential values that the master and the lady have. If the master and the lady do not want the potential value to be known to others, then the feature can be disabled. “Julia is a great woman with a very high potential value and is ranked far above us, but she is still so friendly and humble.” Rama thought with admiration. Unknowingly the gaze of Rama's eyes continued to pay attention to Julia.

“Is there a problem Mr Rama?” julia asked because she felt strange with Rama who looked unfocused.

“Eh... no Julia..” Rama was surprised by Julia's question and blushed in embarrassment.

“If so let's hurry..” said Julia.

“Siaapp Rama answered with passion.

Yuna, Dirga, Ayu, Galih and Rama follow Julia and Darma towards the vehicle that will take them to the training ground. They boarded the elevator and stepped onto the top of the Pandawa Group building.

“Aren't we going to the training ground, why are we going upstairs?” think Rama.

Upon arrival at the top of the Pandawa building, Julia opens the door and….

Wusssh's…. Wussh…. Wusshh….. A strong wind greeted them. Rama was surprised, it turns out that the vehicle in question is a very large helicopter bearing the word Pandawa.

“Please go up..” says Julia.

The entire team boarded the helicopter, followed by Darma and Julia. After that, the helicopter immediately took off and left the Pandawa building.

“We will travel about 1 Hour. Enjoy your travel time, because upon arrival at the destination, you will not be able to feel as comfortable as this.” Said Darma with a horrible looking smile. Suddenly it felt cold. The whole group showed worried faces.

“No need to think too much. Please enjoy this trip.” Julia said trying to eliminate the worry of her team members.

During the journey, Yuna and Ayu fell asleep quite soundly. Galih unceasingly looked out to enjoy the scenery. She has a hobby of reading and always carries her favorite novel. Throughout the trip Dirga was busy reading the novel. While Rama looked very pale, cold sweat continued to flow from his forehead, and his hands gripped the chair very tightly.

“What is it, Lord Rama? Ask Julia.

“This helicopter will not fall Julia....?” Rama asked.

“Of course not sir...” Julia answered with a big smile to Rama.

“Thankful...” Julia's answer and smile were like magic. Rama was calmer.

It did not feel they had been in the helicopter for 1 hour and will soon arrive at their destination. The helicopter slowly began to land. The entire team descended immediately after the helicopter landed and the door opened. What they saw confused them. They were in a vast meadow surrounded by huge, very lush trees.

“Welcome to Mount Mandalawangi and this is where the starting point of your training is.” Darma.

“ The whole group is watching carefully.

“You will walk from here to Puncak Mandalawangi which has a distance of about 50 kilo meters. A normal person can travel that far in a span of about 5 hours, which means the required speed is about 10 kilo meters per hour

“Whataa...” All the team members were shocked.

“Why is the distance that far Mr Darma? We haven't even had lunch yet..” Ask Rama.

“We are not on a picnic?” Answer Darma firmly.

“We will start training to increase your potential. Each of us has prepared 1 bag containing bread, drinks and some other equipment to help you. Make sure the bread and drinks are enough until you arrive at Puncak” Darma continue the explanation.

“There you will compete to be the fastest to reach the top. Of course there are rewards that we will give to anyone who is in the first place.” Darma.

“What is Sir?” ask Ayu curiously.

“Of course you will be very thirsty and hungry during the journey to the top. At the top there is a training building where we have prepared a lot of good food for anyone who is in the first place. Actually the amount of food we prepared was enough for all of you, only the people who were in the first place had full rights over the food. He could spend it on his own without the need to give it to the others. It was a privilege earned.” Darma.

“For others, we have prepared dry bread instead of dinner. So anyone who wants to have a good meal tonight, be at the forefront.” Added.

“Waaaah…. Meals…. I will spend all..” Rama has imagined a lot of food that he can eat.

“Don't dream…! Me, Yuna, Ayu and Galih have been prepared for this Project for a long time. We always train our physiques in our company's specialty Gym. A bum like you has no chance of winning.” Said Dirga coldly after accidentally hearing the words of Rama.

“What did you say...?!!” rama shouted in response to Dirga.

“Already Dirga.. however we are a team, there is no need to discuss the background of each” said Galih trying to mediate.

“Will I continue...” Said Darma who also tried to mediate.

“During the trip, you will pass the path with a fairly steep terrain. But you don't have to worry about getting lost, Julia will walk ahead to guide you and I'll be behind to make sure you're okay. Along the way we have also prepared some directions because it is possible that the distance between people will be very far and will make you lose track of Julia and beyond my attention. If that is not enough and still makes you lost, we will still know your position through the watch you wear.” Darma continued the explanation.

“Julia is ahead to guide you, but don't expect Julia to be waiting for you. So try to continue to be able to follow Julia”.

“Alright.. Now it is 1 pm and if there are no obstacles we will arrive at the summit at around 6 pm. Bring your bags, we'll start with a countdown of 10. Make sure you get to the top safely.” Shouted Darma.

“Are you guys ready..?” ask Darma

“Siaaap....!!!!” the entire team answered in unison.

[10… 9… 8… 7… 6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1….]

“Start....!”
