Waiting for Tomorrow

Waiting for Tomorrow
The Instinct of a Mother

"Oh God! Please save that young man! Don't let what I used to experience, repeat itself!" Say it in the heart. After a moment of contemplation, without wasting any more time the man walked quickly towards the administration.

Meanwhile, the situation in Hari's hometown, the night looked very quiet. Only the sound of frogs came from the direction of the rice fields. Indeed, every sun has sunk, the situation in the village looks silent.

Inside Hari's house, Fera was seen in the living room folding clothes that had been finished drying. The radio voice became his friend. My mom made a cup of black coffee in the kitchen.

When the mother was carrying a cup containing black coffee that he had finished making, unexpectedly, unfortunate fate was approaching her. Mother slipped on the tile floor she was treading on, as she walked towards the living room.

  Pprrraaaan......!!!

Unforgiving anymore. The cup of black coffee he was holding slipped from his grasp and fell on the floor in a state of being smashed to pieces.

Hearing the sound of the cup shards being quite loud, Fera immediately ran towards the direction the sound was coming from. That day, she was shocked to see her mother lying on the floor with black coffee on the clothes she was wearing and on the tile floor.

"Come, Mother!!! How can you fall!!!" Shouted Fera hysterically.

"Emak kepeleset, Fer!" Reply Mom whimpering in pain.

"Be careful Mom if you walk!" His face approached the mother's body. Fera also helped lift the mother to stand and support her mother's body towards the mother's room.

"Better now Mom rest! Maybe Mom's overachieved!"

"Yes Fer! Maybe Mom was too hot for too long while drying rice! So Mom's head is a little dizzy!" The reply. Aided by her youngest child, she lay on a mattress-floated cot lined with sheets.

"Dizziness Mother instead of rest even make coffee! It's late at night! It's ten o'clock less!" Fera said while massaging her mother's feet.

"Thank you Hari! He's been up to boarding what hasn't he? My mother's feelings are not calm!" She said, imagining her son's face.

"It seems to have reached Mak! Mom don't think about Mas Hari! There's Fera here! Tomorrow if it's off and it's time, Mas Hari can go home again, Mak!" Fera tried to calm her mother's heart.

"But this time it feels different, Fer! My mother was nervous and could not sleep! So Mom makes black coffee so she can accompany you while listening to the radio. But it's just a slip!" Tears instantly dripped down my mother's cheeks.

"Insha Allah is Good Day, Mother! Does anyone hurt, Mom?"

"Mother's right hand hurts a little! Probably sprains. It was to support."

"Yes tomorrow Fera call Bu Suripah to massage Mom! If it's not good now. It's already night!"

  "Yes Fer. Tomorrow morning."

"Then it's better now Mommy rest! Calm your mind! Insha Allah tomorrow if you have time to send a letter." Fera covered her mother's body with a blanket.

"Yes Fera. You also sleep! I have to go teach tomorrow! Let's just fold her clothes tomorrow!" Her request.

"It's also over now, Mak! Yeah, well, Fera lives first!"

  "Yes." Yeah."

After three days since Hari's departure from home, she was always waiting on the front porch. Mother seemed to daydream about the figure of a boy who was loved and missed. My mom looks like she's waiting for someone.

"Sir, how come this morning is still sitting here? My mom hasn't had breakfast yet!" Fera said so out of the house and saw his mother sitting dreamy.

"But it's nine o'clock more, Mom! If you don't eat breakfast, it hurts! The stomach acid will come back again!"

  "Emak isn't hungry yet, Fera!"

"Don't wait for the hungry! Your mother should eat it regularly! Let Fera get ya!" Fera was about to go back inside the house. But his mother quickly banned him.

"No need for Fera!!! If you say you're not hungry, don't force it!!!" Shouted Emak while looking towards Fera. Hearing the snapping of his mother who was quite loud, Fera was shocked not to play.

"Mak, what's wrong Fera? Is Fera wrong to tell Mom to have breakfast?" Ask Fera sadly. Instantly her tears instantly dripped down her cheeks.

"You're not at all wrong Fera! I'm sorry I yelled at Fera!" Mother looked back at the rice field area across from her house.

"Why Mom? Fera doesn't want to see her sick again! My mother's hand has healed!" Fera sat down on the right side of her mother.

"Emak is waiting for the post office attendant to come here, Fera!" Answer's flat.

"Are you waiting for retirement? Don't you usually have to pick up your own mom at the post office?" Fera was astonished.

"Not Fera. I am not waiting for retirement money. But Mom is waiting for a letter from Masmu!" Tears that had been held since, finally fell on both cheeks.

"Oh, you've been sitting here waiting for a post office attendant?" Ask Fera in surprise.

"Yes Fer. Mother keeps thinking Day! Since the departure of Day a few days ago, Mother so no appetite. It's hard to close your eyes!"

"Don't keep thinking, Mom! Insha Allah Mas Hari has survived until Jakarta. Maybe Mas Hari was busy working until night. So I haven't had time to send a letter to my mom!" Fera tried to calm him down.

"Is that possible, Fer?" My mother still could not believe his words.

"Yes Mak! Mas Hari might be more overtime in the factory! It's a red date, Mom! Post office is closed! Even if you wait until sundown, there won't be a post office attendant coming!"

"Oh red date yeah, Fer! My mother was unconscious!" Seru.

"Yes Mak! Maybe tomorrow if Mas Hari enters the night, Mas Hari can just send a letter to Mom!"

"Yes yes! If it's still in the morning, so there's no time to go to the post office!"

"Yes right, Mom! So, it's better now Mom has breakfast first! it's still morning!" Pinta Fera while holding her mother's right arm. They also stood up slowly.

  "You also have breakfast, Fera!"

"I've had breakfast, Mom!" The reply. They also entered the house. Fera held her mother's arm.

When my mother was enjoying breakfast, suddenly I heard the sound of someone saying greetings.

  "Assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikumsalam!" Answer mom and Fera together!" Fera who was sweeping the floor rushed towards the front door of his house.

"Oh, Mba Fatimah! Kirain who!" The thrill when he saw someone who came to visit his house turned out to be Fatimah. A woman who was recently proposed by her brother.
