Waiting for Tomorrow

Waiting for Tomorrow
Before the Dawn

That night, the atmosphere in the village where Fera lived was very quiet. There was only the sound of insects ringing out loud. When the wall clock showed at 03.17 WIB, a woman woke up from her sleep. The woman who was none other than her biological sister that day, moved out of her bed with her two eyes still half closed.

Fera slowly walked towards the bathroom that was behind the house. When he arrived in the bathroom, the building separated from the house, Fera urinated. Once finished, Fera wudhu using water that is in a solid made of clay.

Fresh and cold water poured down the limbs of Fera. Both of his eyes, which were difficult to open, finally opened wide.

After finishing ablution, Fera went back into the house and walked towards his room. Arriving in his room, Fera wore a mukena and performed the tahajud prayer.

In the silence of the night, Fera performed the tahajud prayer very solemnly. After the prayer, Fera immediately offered a prayer to Allah, the Almighty.

"O Allah is the Protector! Protect the Day wherever He is! Keep the Day out of all dangers! Give Him salvation, health and long life, O God! Aamiin yes rabbal'alamiin." Her tears fell on her cheeks.

"O Allah is Oft-Forgiving! Forgive my sins and the sins of my mother! O Allah, You are All-Knowing of all that is in the heart of the Servant! It wasn't my intention to lie to Mom! All I did for the good of Mom! Give health and longevity to Mother, O God! Hopefully soon there will be news from Mas Hari! May Hari return home soon, O God! Aamiin yes rabbal'alamiin." Fera closed his prayer by rubbing his face with both palms. Just as Fera was about to release the face she was wearing, unexpectedly, a voice suddenly sounded someone exclaiming from the door of her room.

"What did all your prayers mean, Fera?" Ask the guy. Hearing his words, Fera hurried to turn her body and looked towards the door of her room. Right in front of her bedroom door, Fera saw a woman who was no stranger to her. This woman is none other than my mother.

"Emery! Already awake?" Fera asked in shock.

"Jawab Fera! What did all your prayers mean?" Ask mom hard.

"Fera only prayed for the safety of Mother, Fera, and Mas Hari!" Answer her nervously.

"lik! Don't think you don't hear all your prayers! Mom heard everything! Even since you came out of the room, Mom heard it! Because you can't sleep!" Mom cried out loudly.

"Fera, I'm sorry about Mom! Fera did not intend to lie to Mom at all! Fera just don't want Mom to think Mas Hari continuously! Fera didn't want to see Mom get sick!" The reply. Tears were back on her cheeks.

"What lies have you done, Fera? Earlier I heard you say I hope soon there is news from Hari! May the day return home soon! Tell me honestly! What do you mean by those words?" Mother's orders.

"Actually, the letter that Mother received yesterday, it was not a letter from Mas Hari. But the letter he made was actually Fera." Reply to Fera slowly.

"What did you say, Fera? The letter wasn't from Hari? Tega You Fera!!! You can lie to Mom!!! My mother is very disappointed in you!!! I can't believe I have a hypocritical child like you!!!" Shouted mom as hard as she could. Her tears washed both her cheeks. Hearing the screams of his mother, Fera immediately ran over to his body. Fera immediately squirmed in front of his mother's two legs. Her tears flooded her face, to the point of dripping on the backs of her mother's legs.

"Fera apologize born and inner, Mother!!! Fera lied to Mom for being forced!!! Fera did not want to see Mum sick because she did not want to eat and thought Mas Hari continued!!!" Fera was crying.

"So right, the letter that Mom received a few weeks ago, it wasn't from Hari?" Ask my mom as if she still doesn't believe me.

"Yes Mak! That letter Fera made! Fera intended for Mum not to worry about Mas Hari anymore!" The answer.

"O Allah, O Rabbi!!! Where is my son really??? Why don't you ever tell Mom???" My mother cried hysterically. Hearing her screams, Fera slowly rose to her feet and directly hugged her thin body.

"Tough and patient friend!!! May Allah protect Murs Day wherever He may be!!! Hopefully Mas Hari will soon be able to return home in good health!!!" Fera tried to calm him down.

"But Jakarta is vast, Mak! Where do you want to go?" Fera asked as she let go of her embrace.

"Yes, we're dancing in her dorms! Same at the factory where Hari works!" The reply.

"Yes, then tomorrow Fera will come to Jakarta! Tomorrow's Monday, Fera's permission is not to teach first!" Her speech.

"Now we're ready! Let's go in the morning! Bring clothes as necessary! To eat, we only bring food! If it's money to buy a train ticket, you still have money!" Said.

"Fera also still has Mak's savings!" Her speech.

"Alhamdulillah then. Yes, Mom to the room first!"

"Fera wants to get Mak ready!" Reply Fera. After her mother returned to her room, Fera rushed to put some clothes in her pink bag.

Finished preparing the clothes that were about to be brought, I suddenly heard the adzan shubuh. Fera and mother also performed prayer shabuh congregation. After finishing the prayer, they were both busy cooking in the kitchen for breakfast and supplies on the way. While Fera and mother were enjoying breakfast, suddenly a voice heard someone say hello.

  "Assalamu'alaikum." His regards.

"Wa'alaikumsalam." Answer mom and Fera together.

"Who is Mak? This early morning we came home!" Ask Fera.

"No idea, Fer. Please look ahead!" Her request.

"Yes Mak." The reply. Fera got up from her seat and walked towards the front door of the house. Curiously, Fera opened the front door that was still locked. As soon as the door opened, Fera immediately smiled broadly.

"Oh Mba Fatimah! Kirain who's coming this early!" Exclaims.

"It's a little fried chicken from Mom, Fera!" Said the woman standing at the door, who turned out to be Fatimah, holding out her right hand which was holding black plastic.

"Thank God, thank you very much Mba! You can make this chicken!" Reply while receiving plastic filled with fried chicken from Fatimah's mother.

"Where are you going, Fera? It's so nice and beautiful!" Fatimah asked while looking at the face and clothes worn by Fera.

"You go to Jakarta Mba." He answered with a slightly unpleasant feeling.

"A holiday for Fer? So yummy! I'm staying at work Sunday! Her speech.

"Not an Mba vacation. But there's important business! I went to Jakarta the same Mom! Let's go in first Mba!" Her request. Fatimah went into the house.
