Ulong Dagger

Ulong Dagger
Terror Ki Bayu

"Who are you?", snapped a man carrying a three-eyed spear.

Awang and Ulong raised both palms forward to calm the newly arrived people.

From the looks, the way they held weapons, and the horses, Ulong could judge that these people were not warriors or people who were used to fighting.

Ulong smiled and replied, "we are travelers who happen to be passing by mister".

"If I may know who these gentlemen are?", Ulong asked back.

The men who had just come down from the boat looked at each other, and a rather old man among them in his fifties came forward and answered.

"We are the villagers" said the old man.

"Well, sorry we didn't know, it was the host who came, once again forgive us" Ulong said solemnly.

The people looked at each other again, seeing from the face and the language of Ulong that was so friendly and polite, their suspicions were reduced.

They paid attention to the people who were with Ulong, from their attitude and appearance, they were obviously warriors. Their women who were on standby with bows and arrows did not look weak either.

The old man who had just spoken to Ulong gave a warning by lowering his hand, gesturing for his men to lower their weapons.

"So who are these brothers? May mention the name so that patik can remember" said the parent.

Ulong looked at Awang for a moment, Awang nodded.

"Well forgive our disrespect Pakcik, introduce Pakcik my name Ulong, and this is bang Awang" said Ulong kindly.

After that Ulong introduced one by one the people who were with him.

Seen on his expression the people there were shocked upon hearing Ulong's words.

The men were whispering.

"Is he really Ulong?", whispered one of them.

"That's Awang huh?", whispered the other.

"Which laksmi?"

"They are young".

Then, without their orders, they went forward and took turns to greet Ulong and his entourage, except for the women.

They did not dare to insolently touch the hands of these female warriors, let alone the so famous Laksmi amongst them.

The men just go deep by holding the fingers in front of the chest to the girls.

The girls responded by nodding and holding both hands over their chest.

"Can we sit down together for a visit, also so that we can find out if you have left this village?" ulong said with a friendly tone.

Nervously the old man nodded, "Well, that's right, sorry we didn't immediately allow guests to stop by and sit in our hut" he said.

After introducing himself as Rustam the old man invited Ulong and friends to follow him.

"Let's follow my master and mistress, it's not nice that we stand here telling stories" said Rustam.

A man from Rustam's entourage called out to a woman standing not far from it staring at them.

The man whispered to the woman who came over as she was called.

Although whispering but all of them there heard it, "provide coffee and fry for our guests, hurry up!!".

The whispered woman nodded and hurried to take a few other women who had just gotten off the boat.

Ulong and a group of villagers followed Rustam to the largest house last night, which was locked.

Meanwhile, several other men left the group and some helped to disembark the passengers who had not yet disembarked from the boat and others pulled the boats to the mainland.

"Eemm. sorry Uncle, we had taken smoked fish from the house there" said Mat Kecik pointed at a house and scratched his head.

Rustam smiled wryly and nodded.

It was his favorite fish.

"We also apologize for entering your house without permission" Laksmi said, followed by nods from the other girls.

Rustam nodded again, "it's okay mama", he said. Now the attitude is much more friendly, as well as some men there they look shy and reluctant to look at Ulong and friends.

As he climbed the steps of the stage house Rustam continued the conversation, "we have heard many stories about you famous warriors, and we heard you acting not too far from this region".

Mardiani, Laksmi, and Salhah blushed to hear the phrase "famous fighter" spoken by Rustam.

"What kind of story is Pakcik?", asked Awang.

"It's good news, I'm afraid to tell you in front of the magic people" said Rustam embarrassed.

Mardiani, Laksmi, and Salhah blushed again, they lowered their heads hiding amused smiles.

They also climbed the terrace of the house on stage and sat around forming a circle facing the face.

Ulong and the silent friends stared at Rustam, waiting for the host to open the conversation.

Rustam himself at that time seemed to speak to the men on his right and left in a slow voice.

Mat Kecik looked at Awang, he impatiently sat waiting like that without speaking anything.

Awang slicked his knee Mat Kecik told him to be patient.

Before long some women followed up the stage house, they served coffee with steam to pieces on a tray and some dishes of fried yams.

Mat Kecik looked at it with enthusiasm, Awang tapped on the knee Mat Kecik.

"Well this is the one who was waiting for earlier, it is not good we chat without accompanied by a glass of coffee" said Rustam.

"So, gentlemen and gentlemen, hearing that you are guerrillas in the area around here, we sent people a week ago to find out where you are and to meet you, but none of the people we sent back brought results" Rustam said.

"Finding us for what, Uncle?", asked Arman curiously.

"We really need your help" Rustam said in a clear tone.

"Our village and some villages on this coast for almost a month in the terror of werewolves and giant wolves" said the old man sadly.

Now it's Ulong's turn and the troupe that was shocked, Mat Kecik who was sipping coffee until choking.

"Ki Bayu!!!", said Awang and Arman simultaneously.

"Who is Ki Bayu?", asked the old man in surprise.

"Look Pakcik, as far as we know the giant wolf and the wolf so that the owner is Ki Bayu" said Awang explained.

"Well yes, that means the old man. Only a few of us have ever seen him, the old man has kidnapped three girls from several villages around here" Rustam said.

"I've seen him, he's kidnapped Ncik Rahmat's daughter, and killed the men who tried to get in the way" one man said.

"I even threw a stone at the one-legged man, but I didn't know if I was hit or not because after throwing I ran away" he continued.

"One foot huh?", asked Awang astonished.

"What does Ki Bayu look like who attacked you?", he asked again curiously.

"The guy was skinny, dressed in black, his nose was thin and there was a scratch on his face. He was wearing a white tiger skin coat with a black stripe draped over his shoulder" the man said.

"Yes it's true him, but in the past when faced with us both legs were still intact, meaning someone managed to hurt him" said Awang.

This was really new news for Awang, making him really curious.

Then Awang told him that they had faced the man. They just don't know how to beat him.

He also told me that Ki Bayu was working for the company.

"Indeed the company is really barbaric" said Mat Kecik while plucking fried yams from a plate.

Arman nudged his friend's waist.

Awang also said that because they did not manage to defeat Ki Bayu they were forced to leave, and did not realize that Pakcik Leman was left behind to fight alone against Ki Bayu and his wolves.

"For him we went back there and found Uncle Leman dead" said Awang looked down sad.

The villagers looked confused, whereas their expressions briefly looked happy.

They became confused because the Awang they heard so powerfully could not defeat Ki Bayu and was forced to flee.

They looked at each other again, then one person opened his voice,

"Aah bang Awang has not been able to beat him just because he does not know Ki Bayu's weakness" he said.

"Well, yes" said another man.

They nodded in affirmation, and again looked happy.

"But there was one clue Pakcik Leman left before he died" Awang said.

"Man, it's your turn" said Mat Kecik while chewing a piece of yam.

Arman looked at Mat Kecik, grinned, then came forward from his seat, took out a dagger and drew a flame on the wooden floor.

"That's the clue Mr. Leman left behind, or at least that's the sign we found next to his body.

Ulong stared at the picture carefully, "maybe that means fire" he said.

"Well, we fought against him ourselves. Me, Mat Kecik, and Arman. We both witnessed, I poured embers over his face, and he was not hurt" Awang said.

"Yes right that" said Mat Kecik, he was about to pluck another piece of yam from the plate, Arman prank his friend, pulled the plate containing yam away.

"Aah you are Man, do not know you fight the company is heavy, must eat a lot to be powerful" said Mat Kecik protest.

"So then, brother has spilled embers into Ki Bayu's face and he is not injured?", asked Ulong to confirm.

"Yes, twice instead" Arman said, welcoming Ulong's question.

"Is there any suggestion of you Long?" ask Awang.

"I thought it could be that the fire was not to defeat Ki Bayu, but a clue to defeat him" Ulong said.

Those present looked at Ulong in confusion.

"I mean we have to ascertain whether there are clues that we can find from the fire when faced with Ki Bayu, not used to attack him" Ulong said again.

"There are two important clues here, the first is the picture left by Pakcik Leman, the second is that Ki Bayu can be injured and the broken leg wound was clearly cut instead of burned", ulong.

Those present were flabbergasted to hear Ulong's words and nodded in understanding.

"But that later we both find out, now is how to respond first in case there is another attack here by Ki Bayu or his pet".

"As long as he feels that nothing can beat him here, it will let him off guard and we have to take advantage of that negligence".

"I see a lot of fishing nets here, and I know how the nets work, so involved the body it will be difficult to get away from it" Ulong said.

Those fishermen who were there simultaneously nodded again confirming.

"Well, I'd like to ask you guys for help, it's still early in the morning, first I ask you to gather the men from the village around the beach to gather here, some of them will bring boats and canoes as you have done so far to bring women and children to the sea. Second, help us set traps with fishing nets here" Ulong said.

"The good idea is Long" said Mat Kecik happy, because the plate of sweet potatoes that had been empty in front of him was replaced with another plate carried by a young woman.

"And we have to start from now" Ulong said.
