Ulong Dagger

Ulong Dagger
Dear Patchouli

Some of the company's soldiers came riding into their temporary base at Klambir Lima.

One of them rode with a little native girl sitting in the saddle in front.

The girl looked terrified, sobbing through her eyes and cheeks, her body and hair dirty dusty here and there. On his right arm there is a wound wrapped in a white cloth that is also dirty, there is a red color of traces of blood spread on the cloth.

After descending and tethering the horses, the company soldier carried the girl and with a friend walked towards the command tent.

Heidrich was having a serious conversation with Jhon in the tent, they turned their heads at the same time as the guard soldiers came in and said there were patrolling soldiers who were about to meet.

"Have them come in" Heidrich said.

"Each commander" said the soldier and rushed out.

Before long two soldiers threw up the tent and burst in, one of them carrying the girl they had brought.

"Report commander" said one of them.

Heidrich nodded while staring confusedly.

"We met two people in the northeast direction, probably irregulars" said the soldier.

"Why can you conclude like that?", Heidrich said.

"They immediately attacked as soon as we passed, two of our members were killed by them" replied the soldier.

"We were forced to shoot them dead because there was no possibility for us to capture them alive" the soldier said.

Heidrich furrowed his brows thinking, it was very strange that the Warriors had acted so recklessly, what happened?

"They caught you?", asked Lieutenant Heidrich.

"That's the commander's strange, they ran towards us and attacked just as we were passing" replied the soldier.

Heidrich nodded, "meaning that there was indeed something that made them run away and act recklessly", he thought.

"Alright I believe you guys have done your best, give a further explanation later to sergeant Jhon. And this boy, what's wrong with him?." he asked.

Heidrich stood up from his seat and watched the frightened Nilam, Nilam lowered his head in a sobbing cry.

"This child we found with the dead soldiers, he was hiding in the thickets" said the soldier.

Heidrich flicked his shoulder-length curls to look at the boy's face.

"It's okay, good boy, Uncle just wants to see you" Heidrich said, telling himself Uncle to feel familiar to this boy.

Heidrich looked at Nilam with a look of pity, this boy was so beautiful even though he was dirty, there was a stain of mud and blood on his clothes.

Nilam looked at Heidrich while muttering, his eyes glazed with fear. Lieutenant Heidrich was curious and put his ear to Nilam's face.

"Wolf.. Wolf.." muttered Nilam softly.

Heidrich.

"Wolf..The wolf!!!" nilam yelled and then screamed hysterically.

Heidrich took Nilam from his soldier's sling, patting him on the boy's back to calm down.

"Sw..Ssh. It's okay, it's okay" Heidrich told the rebel Nilam.

Some time Heidrich patted Nilam's back, there was pity and affection in his heart for this boy.

Sergeant Jhon and the other soldiers just kept waiting for Heidrich to persuade the boy.

Eventually Heidrich managed to calm Nilam down, the boy stopped screaming and stuck his head into Heidrich's chest and sobbed.

Carrying and patting Nilam on the back, Heidrich ordered his soldiers on the outside to call the female plantation laborers.

The soldier rushed out of the command tent and shortly came with two indigenous women in their thirties into the tent.

"Please help this child clean, change his clothes, if you need to buy a new one, feed him and take care".

"Whatever the need will tell me", said Heidrich.

The two native women nodded respectfully.

When he was about to hand Nilam to the two women, Heidrich realized that Nilam's hand was wrapped in white cloth.

"This, the wound on the boy's hand, what happened to his hand?", Heidrich asked the two soldiers.

"His hands have been clad like that since we first found the commander" replied the soldier.

Heidrich handed Nilam who was in his arms to one of the women.

On the trunk of Nilam's head to calm down, "Sepakcik first see your wounds, let later change the cloth", Heidrich persuaded.

Slowly Heidrich opened the wrapping cloth of Nilam's arm, seen there are scratches deep enough, the claw marks of wild animals.

Lieutenant Heidrich stared furiously, "again Ki Bayu", he said in his heart.

"Native people hate us even more. Not enough airlines who annex their land, now people like Ki Bayu do terrible things in the name of us", Heidrich grumbled in his heart.

Lieutenant Heidrich had the two women workers take Nilam for treatment, and ordered the two soldiers to get out of the tent and return to his squad.

Unable to do anything to injure Ki Bayu, the enraged Lieutenant Heidrich invites his men to leave the meeting site.

"Based on a crazy old man!!", said Lieutenant Heidrich furiously and turned the horse around.

"You wait until the report about you is received by the airline, then your business here is done!!" then he kicked the horse.

Sergeant Jhon and two other company soldiers followed their commander away.

John rode beside Heidrich, he looked at his superior, so quickly Heidrich changed his mind about Ki Bayu, even though they had gone all the way to meet him.

Heidrich turned his head, as if he knew what his men were thinking he said "i am only talking to humans, and he is not human" Heidrich explained to John the reason for their departure.

"Any commander" replied Sergeant Jhon.

Jhon nodded in understanding, this commander as far as he was familiar was a gentleman. He will not accept ways that violate morals and ethics. And the foolish Ki Bayu displayed his madness in front of the commander.

Ki Bayu clucked angrily at Heidrich and the cavalry who were riding away.

Suma looked at her boss leaving without looking back. They must have been unaware and probably didn't care if he tried to stay here.

Suma also sat on her horse quietly in front of Ki Bayu.

"You, why don't you go with your friends?" ki Bayu said astonished.

Suma grinned, then said, "you should understand your position as an old man".

"No need for you to show off your madness to them, you won't earn their respect by acting that way" Suma said.

Ki Bayu stared intently at Suma. He instead blamed this person who had issued a spicy remark so that he was provoked to act recklessly.

"Young man, it's not hard for me to finish you off here if I want to, why are you still talking like you're in charge?", asked Ki Suma and spat to the side.

"Well, you're so old, but your mind is completely useless" Suma chuckled.

Ki Bayu growled furiously, felt a keris at the waist.

"Hahahaha.", Suma laughed out loud.

"That's all that's in your parents' minds, never caring whether someone else says it, just your taste that you follow. When you lose a fight, you use force to attack" Suma said.

Ki Bayu speechlessly glared.

"You please attack me, of course you can do that. But remember, I am currently a sergeant in the company's army" Suma said.

"If you attack me it means you attack the whole company, and you will be hunted" he chuckled.

True also thought Ki Bayu, if he killed this big-mouthed young man then what the Dutch Lieutenant said was going to come true, the airline would cancel the agreement with him and he would be considered defiant.

Then the whole army of companies will go after him, and what's in it for him?

Ki Bayu growled in annoyance, clenched his jaw but could do nothing.

He laughed triumphantly in his heart.

"Now that you understand what I mean, are you willing to listen to my advice?" ask Suma.

Ki Bayu though looks reluctant but can not say anything.

Suma herself actually disliked Ki Bayu, this kind of person felt most invincible, would not want to hear the orders of others, and would definitely be difficult in the future.

But seeing how the firearm was unable to injure Ki Bayu made him have to rethink how to get rid of this old man.

"Look, I think what you do can still be redeemed, of course with success" said Suma.

Ki Bayu silently looked at Suma.

What's wrong with him listening to her thoughts.

Suma then explained the information she got about Awang's hideout, and said if Ki Bayu destroyed the base then it would restore his original position in front of Lieutenant Heidrich.

Ki Bayu silently said nothing as Suma explained, but Suma was sure Ki Bayu would carry it out. Because that was the only choice that this old man had.

"It's up to you, aren't you invincible?" suma said then spur his horse to leave Ki Bayu.

Suma spurred her horse across the thatch field while smirking in satisfaction.

And so it was a few nights after his meeting with Suma, based on the information he received Ki Bayu managed to destroy Awang's hideout headquarters and his group.

Suma managed to get Ki Bayu to destroy the headquarters without losing a soldier.

Then the next morning he ordered some of his men there so that he could claim his troops who destroyed the hideout.

Unfortunately unexpectedly, Awang and his entourage were not killed there so his troops were slaughtered by them.

Even if Suma was not out of her mind, she just blamed Ki Bayu for the tragedy.

And Ki Bayu banged him with Lieutenant Heidrich.
