The fury of a father

Ken held her cheeks which felt hot and reddened. Ken just kept silent to let his parents vent his anger. Ken looked at Ken's crying mama in his arms.

"What will we say to Karina's parents" said Ken's mother, who Ken could still hear.

Ken himself felt stunned when he remembered Karina's mother's message to take care of her no matter what. But now what happened, he was wasting it. And even she also wasted their only daughter.

Ken hasn't seen her and her daughter since she last met, telling her about her divorce. After that Ken never found out how they were doing. Even Ken forgot about them and his daughter's living, and he can't remember when to send her transfers. He really feels guilty.

He deserves bad treatment from his parents. If only Karina's parents were still alive. Karina's father who was a soldier would definitely shoot her dead. Ken sat on the couch regretting his mistake. Both of his hands rubbed his face rough.

He is so blinded by his love for Lena that he forgets two lives that are still his responsibility. Ken felt guilty.

"Everything's done." replied papa Ken staring at Ken sharply.

"I should have raised her as my daughter rather than my daughter-in-law pa." said Ken's mother sobbing.

"Now where is Karina pa, where is she?" asked Ken's mom to hold her husband's shirt.

"Papa saw Karina's house empty. And it seems like it's been a long time since the residents left the house." replied papa feeling guilty.

"What does papa mean? Our house is empty? If not, where are they?" it wasn't Ken's mother who asked but Ken who was even surprised to hear about their old house being empty uninhabited.

"Why are you asking now? Where have we been all this time not knowing where they are? Don't you also not support your daughter...?" papa Ken's worried face grew even more wrathful when he saw his son just speechless not answering which means his guess is correct.

"Breng men's base*sek. How dare you waste them. Even though you're not supporting Karina you should be supporting your daughter, our granddaughter." slaps repeatedly dropped back in Ken's face because of the papa's wrath, Ken didn't fight back, he just accepted all his papa's treatment because he felt he deserved it." You really breng*sek Ken, papa never taught you to be a breng*sek guy. Papa's really ashamed to have such a son* as you." papa Ken's collar on Ken's shirt just silently accepted.

Mama Ken screamed hysterically at her husband's wrath, Ken's mother repeatedly separated them and tried to defuse her husband's anger, not because of Ken but because Ken's mother was afraid her husband's illness would recur.

Mama Ken agrees her son gets the slap. He was so foolish as to waste his wife as good as Karina, as gentle as he was, as he thought, as obedient as he was and everything.

"Sorry Ken pa, ma. Sorry..."

"You think with an apology you can give it all back. Just because the ego of love has blinded the eyes of your heart Ken.." cried Papa Ken who already looks bored and breath hunting.

And suddenly Papa Ken held his chest in pain and fainted. Mama Ken went back to screaming hysterically at what she was worried about.

"LADY..."

"LADY..."

yelled Ken and his mother at the same time immediately approached his papa.

Now the tone of voice felt flat without expression. Ken simply nodded and left his papa's VVIP treatment room.

After fainting, Mang Saleh immediately prepared a car and helped Ken lift the body of his fainted employer. Everyone including the maid in the house was confused, panicked and anxious to see her master faint. And within half an hour, they arrived at the hospital to be greeted by the nurses Ken had contacted to prepare.

The doctors and nurses who were on standby immediately pushed him into the ER room to be examined. Not for an hour, the doctor came out of the ER room to give good news that Papa Ken was fine. And fortunately it was handled immediately until it was not too late.

And here they are now, in the VVIP treatment room with Ken's mother holding tightly to her husband's fingers lying limp and babbling encouraging her husband to wake up immediately.

The morning before leaving for the project, Ken stopped by the hospital with bi Atun to come along to bring him whatever his employer asked him to do. As soon as the door was opened, Papa Ken immediately glared unwilling to look at Ken.

Papa Ken is already hurting. Mama Ken though still answering Ken's words but never looked at his son directly, he always avoided seeing his son's eyes.

"Sorry mom, ma... Forgive Ken... Ken's wrong..." Ken even knelt on the side of Papa Ken's bed, his eyes shedding tears of regret.

But his parents remained silent not to mengubris son's words.

"Pa, ma. please forgive Ken. Ken knows Ken's wrong, everything's been done, ma. Ken never loved Karina as a woman. Ken only loved Karina as a sister. Not more. Ken loves Lena pa, ma." papa and mama Ken closed their eyes disappointed to hear the expression of his son's heart.

They feel more and more guilty for their previous compulsion on Karina to be willing to be betrothed to Ken. Because they know Karina loves Ken so much. Although they know Ken still doesn't love Karina as a woman, they are convinced that gradually the two will definitely love each other for living together.

However their estimation is wrong, Ken leaves Karina and her daughter only to meet her love. If they knew this would happen, they would rather adopt Karina as their daughter instead of their daughter-in-law but have to be hurt by their son.

And now they finally realized, the last time Karina visited them with her daughter was to say goodbye to them directly even though she said nothing. At that time Ken's mom should have realized something was wrong with the couple.

But Karina's smile that looks contrived makes mama Ken dismiss the opinion that he considered unwarranted. Until Ken's mother closed her eyes not to interfere too much in their household affairs. And now, they don't know where the two went. Are they okay, do they live comfortably and safely, can they survive even Ken forgot to support his daughter.

They felt very, very guilty for both of Karina's parents who had died as well as for Karina and her granddaughter.

"We'll never forgive you before we bring back our daughter" said Papa Ken, still turning his back to Ken, unwilling to look at her.
