Trapped on Zombie Island

Chapter 23

The atmosphere was so gripping for Marsell, Rere, Rangga, and Alan, they couldn't rest in peace because in the corridor there, they could not, a lot of zombies are ready to tear their bodies apart if they open the apartment door.

Marsell regretted that he should not have damaged the remote car to trick the zombies. That means they can't go anywhere anymore.

Unlike the people in the rooftop there, now the atmosphere feels so calm, they do not hear at all the sounds of zombies although in fact they can see zombies clearly if they look down, he said, but tonight they want to for a moment forget the terrible events of tonight.

At exactly 02.00 in the morning, Cindy was asleep, as well as Adel who fell asleep on a large table accompanied by Mira and Ana who both relax because of fatigue.

Diego put Cindy's body in that chair. Diego opens his shirt, he uses his white shirt to cover his daughter's body.

Now Diego only wears a shirt in white, he does not care about himself who has to be cold for Cindy.

Diego and Rachel sit on the floor and wake themselves to the edge of the chair to keep Cindy from falling.

Diego doesn't know what their fate will be tomorrow, so he wants to explain everything to Rachel, even if she ends up having to die, at least she won't die of curiosity. Moreover, their location is in the left corner of the rooftop, located a little far with the other five people.

Diego held Rachel's hand, and looked at her with a sad look, "I'm sorry if I hurt you in the past."

"I admitted long before I met you that I used to play women. But to be honest you're the only woman who makes me crazy, until I can't help myself. Rachel frowned, "Are you?"

"If I die here, I hope I'll be reminded Cindy that Cindy's met her father." Diego said.

"Don't talk like that." Rachel also doesn't know what their fate will be but wishes she and Cindy could go home with Diego.

"But if we manage to get out of here, do you want to marry me?"

Rachel smiled amusedly, "How can you propose to me on such a horrible island?"

"Because I don't know tomorrow what our fate will be like even though I will try hard to protect you and Cindy. At least you can encourage me."

Rachel was silent for a while, she admitted she still had feelings for Diego, she felt it was better she was telling the truth while having the chance to express it. "Well, let's get married if we make it out of here."

Diego smiled broadly at Rachel's reply, "Right? You want to marry me?"

Rachel timidly nodded her head.

Maybe because he was wearing a deep shirt, Diego was so cold, he hugged Rachel from behind. "Thank you, I promise I'll take you and Cindy off this island, and everyone else here too. Somehow."

Then they put their lips together, so happy, even though the kiss was only for a moment. Because eventually they can both express their feelings.

Dave was still laying down, staring at the flickering stars in the sky, at least he could calm down a little now, although he did not know tomorrow what the fate of those who were here would be like, at least he could be a little quiet now, just hoping for a miracle to come.

Dave saw Ana walking closer to the rooftop fortress, he was so relieved that the girl was with him in this rooftop.

Dave got up right away, he walked over to Ana there. Apparently Ana is looking down there, there are still many zombies hanging around who will be ready to prey on them.

"You're not sleeping?" dave asked as he stood beside Ana.

Ana turns to Dave, "I can't sleep, I'm afraid the zombies will attack us again. Especially here we can't run anywhere."

"At least you should rest your body. We don't know what's going to happen tomorrow, so our stamina has to stay awake."

Ana tells Dave, "You too, why don't you sleep?"

Dave was just grinning, he just realized he was doing himself, too.

"Did I make you angry a lot?" ask Dave while looking at Ana.

"Very. You always bother me, even I'm surprised how can we be on campus?"

Dave was silent for a while, he didn't know tomorrow what would happen to him, so he wanted to express his feelings to Ana, so that she wouldn't die of curiosity, "Because I'm following you."

Ana rounded her eyes as soon as she heard Dave's reply, "A follow me? Why?"

"I didn't know why at first either, because I never fell in love. I feel weird about myself wanting to see you all the time, I just realized I'm in love with you." Dave knows this is not the right time to talk about feelings, but he will be more tortured if he is destined not to survive this zombie island, so he wants Ana to know about his feelings.

Ana is misbehaved to hear it, "Why not say it from the past?"

"If I told you first, would you accept me?" ask Dave expectantly.

"I'll answer you later if we've managed to leave this island, we have to go home together, promise ya?"

Dave did not answer yes or no, he just smiled faintly.

Dave remembered the chocolate he wanted to give Ana, he still kept it in his pants pocket even though the packaging condition was no longer good, "This is chocolate for you, sorry the condition is like this."

Ana happily accepts the chocolate, "Thank you, but can I share it with the people here?"

"Of course, just so long as you eat it."

The two of them smiled and looked at each other, then chatted back.

"It looks like this island is long dead" said Dave, looking at all the buildings down there.

Ana is silent for a moment, when she's about to pick up a sword to help Dave, she accidentally sees a calendar, it looks like the calendar there shows the year 2021. "I don't think it's that long, I remember very well I saw the calendar on that table showing the month of December 2021."
