CHAPTER 67 - Trying to Explain

"Divia. He is guilty. But you must remember, until now he is still our daughter-in-law. Let them solve their household problems. Give them a chance to talk together" Typal Arifin defended his son-in-law, or rather tried to mediate.

"You no longer have the right to speak or to regulate me. Even if I give him the chance to meet Aurora now, it's only for my daughter's sake. Not because of your words" Divia looked at Arifin sharply, then she looked back at Alwi with the same gaze, and said coldly.

"Please meet him. But remember, don't force her if she doesn't want to meet you" The Divia passes from the presence of the two men who have given her the bad experience, with anger rising against her.

Smiling wryly, Arifin approached Alwi and patted his daughter-in-law on the shoulder, before she too passed from the presence of his daughter-in-law.

But he misses his wife very much. He wants to meet and give Aurora an understanding, that everything that happens between him and Delia is unintentional. Yes, he must meet his wife. They need to talk!

Alwi opened the door. He's bending his head. Scan every side of the room. Until his eyes caught the figure who was sleeping on the bed. His heart felt warm for a moment.

Alwi closed the door and approached the bed where his wife was. Alwi looked at his wife's pretty face with his eyes closed, with a sad feeling and full of longing. His hand stroked the woman's hair gently.

If he could turn back the clock, he would not want this storm to hit his marriage to waver. He did not want to give pain and disappointment to his wife. If Delia had never been present in their lives.

Feeling a warm and gentle touch on her head, Aurora's sleep is slowly disturbed. He opened his eyes which still felt heavy. She faintly saw the handsome face that she missed so much.

"I love you to" replied Alwi softly looking at his wife with sadness and longing. She was happy that Aurora was smiling at him. Even saying the word love.

Does that mean she forgave him? But, could it possibly be that easy for Aurora to forget what had happened? Alwi was confused.

Suddenly Aurora woke up and jolted awake, when she was no longer in the influence of dreams.

"Why are you here again? Didn't I tell you I didn't want to see you? Go and take care of the woman. Isn't she pregnant with your child?" Aurora spoke with a quivering voice, and turned her face away with fiery eyes.

"Darling, I know you're angry. But please don't talk like that. Please listen to my explanation, so that there will be no more misunderstandings between us" Alwi stood up and tried to persuade his wife in a soft voice.

Alwi's words made Aurora directly look at her husband with reddened and teary eyes.

"Mistake understandings? Which misunderstanding? When another woman is pregnant with your child. A woman I've taken for granted like my own sister. And you can still say it's all a misunderstanding? Tell me, where's the misunderstanding?" Shake Aurora with tears. The volume of the voice is loud at the end of the sentence.

"Yes, I admit, Delia is pregnant with my child. But I never cheated on him. It all happened during our concert in Surabaya the other day. And you alone, who forced me to stay there without you? Though I have decided to cancel my departure at that time, and accompany you to look after Mama in the hospital. And, from the beginning you were also the one who insisted on helping Delia. And bring it into our lives...."

"alright. I'm going out. But please let me treat your wounds first. I can't see you getting hurt like this" Alwi relented and held the injured Aurora's hand anxiously. Aurora brushed it off.

"Don't touch me. It's just a physical injury. It will heal in a matter of days. Unlike the wounds in my heart, which will always hurt every time I remember, there is your fetus in another woman's womb" she exclaimed with tears spilling back.

"Darling...." Lirih Alwi who no longer knows what to say.

"Now you're out. Don't force me" said Aurora, who tried to hold back her crying so as not to spill back.
