There's Only Us
Breakfasted

Somewhere else.

Still at the same hour, in a big three-story house. Fahmi sits at a dining table with his father. Dining table with many chairs but only occupied by himself and his father.

For years like this, nothing has changed. Since the death of his mother, Fahmi's father has been quieter. Although Fahmi and his father often chat, but only chat is important.

There is nothing special in their relationship, the interaction between the two can still be counted on the fingers. They are not like father and son. Making Fahmi realize that the death of his mother turned out to have a major influence on his family.

Before his mother's death, his father was very loving. Whatever Fahmi wants will be done. But now no, whatever he wanted only he himself could grant it. Dad says he's grown up and needs to be independent.

And for ten years, they lived like this. Fahmy is used to it.

Both were silent, no one had yet started the conversation. Only the clang of the spoon sounded.

"How are they?" fahmi's father, Irwan, starts the conversation with a question.

"Their news is good, Dad." Fahmi replied briefly, she continued her already-nigh-out breakfast.

"Don't you want to meet them?"

Fahmi stops putting food in his mouth, hearing his father suddenly discuss someone.

"Now is not the time yet," sighing, Irwan's father was indeed eager to meet but now is not the right time.

"Twenty-five years did not meet but I can bear it too." Said Fahmi while smiling blandly.

Feeling his father was a little outrageous, when he had a daughter who was deliberately left in an orphanage. Trapping his own son, and until now Irwan's father still does not want to see him.

Until now Fahmi still does not understand what exactly his father is planning. Because all this time he was just following his father's wishes, obeying all his orders. Even if he asked, his father would not answer.

"Dad never met in person but Dad often saw. Dad separated for years does not mean Dad does not want to meet, Dad also miss but the time is not right. But someday I'll meet him."

One mouthful went into Irwan's father's mouth. Without seeing Fahmi, Irwan's father spoke like that. They shut up again, continuing to eat breakfast.

"Do you like taking your kids to school?" irwan's father spoke again.

"Hm.... " Fahmi keeps eating her breakfast, it's almost noon and she has to go to Nara's house.

"If you don't mind, please bring the kids to play here. I want to see them from Deket."

One sentence that Irwan's father said made Fahmi look surprised, his father's breath he could hear. This was the first time his father had asked for such a request.

"Why? Why don't you just find them?"

"If you don't want Dad, don't make it either. I just want to see them, but if you can't bring them here, that's okay."

Fahmi exhales, he puts down the spoon and takes the glass. Drink it to the end, then rise from his seat. Fahmi picked up the suit that was placed on the side chair where he was sitting.

Before leaving, Fahmi looked towards his father. "I need to bring them here."

Soon he finished his breakfast and wanted to go to his usual place to relax. His age who had stepped on the head of five began to make his body often feel tired.

Either because of the age factor or indeed his body is weak. He retired two years ago and worked as a company leader. He is replaced by Fahmi, his only son.

_________

Fahmi walks out of the house, heading to the garage to pick up the car. The suit that was brought was worn.

"Sir, do I need to take you?" ask one of the drivers who works at Fahmi's house.

There are many workers here, they have their own duties. Some are specialized in caring for plants and mowing the grass, there are servants who specifically work in the kitchen and it has its own duties.

Washing dishes and cooking is done by different services. Even Irwan's father has a personal servant, all his needs have been arranged by the waiter who is always by his side.

The driver who works in this house is not only one, there are about five to six drivers. But they all rarely take employers, because in this house only occupied by Fahmi and his father.

Fahmi had protested to his father for having too many drivers, but there was no point, his father always had a reason not to reduce the number of drivers in this house.

Fahmi was silent and no longer wanted to protest. Whatever his father wants to do, Fahmi will be quiet and just obey.

"No need." The rejection that often happens, Fahmi does not want to be in between because he wants to go to Nara's house. Driving alone is more flexible than being accompanied by a driver.

Fahmi got into the car, started the engine and started driving. The gate was opened when the guard saw that the car wanted to get out. Fahmi drove his car at a moderate speed, it didn't take long for him to get to Nara's house. Because the distance is not so far away.

It was almost noon but her two children had not woken up, Nara thought they were exhausted so no problem. After baking bread and applying jam for breakfast. Nara cleaned the house.

Watering the plants in the yard, Nara saw the vegetable handyman passing by. Just remember that the vegetables in the refrigerator are running out, Nara called the greengrocer to stop.

Like mothers in general, now Nara is bidding on the price of vegetables. Take a kale one tie for three thousand. If in the market may still be able to bid but if buying in a mobile vegetable maker will be difficult to bargain.

Some of the mothers began to arrive, they chose vegetables. Sometimes they talk until they laugh. Nara who was not so used to chatting with mothers, just kept quiet. He was busy with vegetables he wanted to buy.

"Mbak Nara why diem? We rarely meet our neighbors. Rarely do we get together like this, come and have a chat."

One of Nara's neighbors whose house is next door. Nara simply smiled in response, she often went out of the house but to work. I went home from work in the afternoon, so there was no time to chat with the neighbors.

After Nara finished paying immediately, handed over fifty thousand money and got nineteen thousand back. Nara said goodbye to mothers who had not finished choosing vegetables, she walked into the house.

"Mother...?!!!"
