The Winter Promise

The Winter Promise
Chapter 62: New Job With Mr. Febri.

When I got home from school, I used to go to the lab to play games with Mr. Febri and also to see if there was any work that Mr. Febri would give me. After I got there, I saw Mr. Febri sitting down and playing games on a regular computer.

“Have played alone Sir?”

I turned on the computer where I used to play.

“Iya, just the old you Mar... Mar, later after playing you can follow father no?”

“Where Sir?”

“Today, I have an appointment to meet with my old friend to build a new company after his old company bankrut.”

“Bankrut?”

I was a little surprised when I heard that.

“I don't know how it is, but I do know that his company has been bankrupt for two years and now he wants to make a new company. Because he does not have enough funds to pay employees, so he asked for help from me to help.”

So I do, but it's great that he wants to build a company again after bankruptcy, it looks like it could be a good experience for me.

“Good.”

“But I can't promise you payment from this job Mar. I was just told by him for free, even though he said that if there was income he would pay the whole.”

I guess it doesn't matter if I still get paid even at the end.

“No problem sir, I think it's a good experience to see firsthand how to make a company. After all, just think of this as a sign of gratitude from me because you always give me work.”

“I just found out that my students are this good.”

Mr. Febri was moved to hear that.

“Oh Yes Mr. Febri. “

“What's Mar?”

“There is one friend of mine who wants to come play with us.”

“Take it, later let me first pair one computer with this game so that we can play together. But how is it capable?”

“If I can guarantee it, its ability is much greater than mine. He does often play this game, even more often he compared to me.”

“Woah! I guess soon I won't feel what it's called defeat.”

I think it's not like that, even though Maul comes to play still whose name is defeat we will definitely feel. Especially playing MOBA games like Dito2.

And we played games together.

After one or two games we played, I went with Mr. Febri directly to a cafe in the South Jakarta area to meet his friend Pak Febri. We went there using a motorbike to choose Mr. Febri.

When we entered the cafe, Mr. Febri immediately approached someone who was sitting there. I followed him and walked to a table where he was sitting. When he saw us approaching him, he immediately stood up and greeted Mr. Febri.

“You've got here?”

“Of course, his name wants to meet an old friend who wants to help me, surely I will be excited to meet him.”

That person has a shorter height than Mr. Febri and also he still looks the same young as Mr. Febri.

“Amar introduce, this is my friend I told you about at school. Her name is Hari, she used to be one school with me when High School.”

“Hari.”

Mr. Hari stuck his hand out to me.

“I Amar, I am his student Mr. Febri.”

I also shake hands with him.

We sat down with him and ordered a coffee to talk with him.

“What company did you develop first?”

Mr. Febri immediately opened his conversation.

“It's so bad you don't know about it, whereas my company used to be very famous loh.”

“Masa?”

Mr. Febri is not kidding, he does not know what company made by Mr. Hari. It could be seen very clearly on his face at this moment.

“I used to set up a publishing company that published a magazine about comics called Universe Komik.”

I seem to have heard of such magazines from Kichida. Waitie? Is there such a magazine?

“Oh so the Universe Comic is yours, I used to read comics in the magazine a lot but I didn't know if that company you founded.”

Very bad of you, Mr. Febri, as a friend, you have failed so much.

“Then why did his company go bankrupt? Isn't that comic pretty famous first.”

“If you know, the number of readers in Indonesia is increasingly reduced especially with the emergence of the internet that makes many people who prefer to read something on the internet rather than reading it in books. There are also some websites that upload content from my magazine illegally which makes many readers prefer to read there because it is free compared to buying directly the magazine. Although I have closed the web a few times, but still there are many new web that has sprung up.”

Hmmmm... I just found out that illegal uploaders the impact will be this big.

“And there are also some employees who took away the company's money which made the company become unable to run anymore.”

Add Pak Hari.

“I'm sorry to hear that.”

“But the hard times I have passed, and the debts that befell my company have been paid off. Now is the time to build a new company with a new spirit.”

Mr. Hari said that with a burning spirit. It seems that I have a lot to learn from the unyielding attitude possessed by Mr. Hari, because one day it must be very useful for me to go through difficult times.

“So what company do you want to make?”

Mr. Febri went straight to the heart of the conversation.

“Actually I still want to run a company in the field of comics and publishing because I still have a lot of comic connections and also my printing machine used to still exist today. Maybe if you want to be reused I have to service first so that the machine is optimal.”

“Why don't you try to be digital only?”

Mr. Febri immediately proposed an idea.

“That's a great idea, but I've never seen an app like that at all.”

“I've seen my friend use such an app, but my friend uses an app that comes from Japan. According to him, the application does not exist in Indonesia, so he uses a special application to download applications and games that only exist in Japan.”

Fortunately, during the break, I saw Kichida who read the comics and asked her. Actually I've seen Kichida read comics on his phone a lot, but I never cared about it, because I wasn't really interested in comics myself.

“In Korea there is also a similar application and quite a lot of fans there. Mumpung those applications have not entered the Indonesian market, it does not seem to hurt to try.”

Said Mr. Febri to Mr. Hari.

“The proposal from the two of you is very good, I can't believe I will get an idea at the first meeting like this.”

Mr. Hari also looks happy, it seems he has seen a glimmer of hope to build his company.

“Means the problem now is to look for programmers who want to pay when the application is already paying off.”

I also thought about it and all that came to my mind at that time was Maul. But I don't know if Maul wants to work without pay when the app is so, especially if considering she always complains about

her job.

“I have a friend who is an expert in the field and seems like he would like if not paid first.”

Seems like? There is no harm in offering it first to Maul about this.

“Is that Mar?”

Mr. Hari confirmed it to me.

“Maybe, but I don't know more details yet.”

“Then you ask your friend. Later on how he decides, you can directly contact me to this number. You see, he's our only hope for this idea to work.”

Mr. Hari directly gave me his number.

“Alright, I'll report soon.”

“I'm waiting for the good news from you.”

“Now what is your job Ri?”

Mr. Febri drank the coffee he had ordered.

“I still work at a printing company owned by my acquaintances. I also have not quit my job afraid that later the company I am building still requires a fee in the process of making it.”

“If you have a problem like this, you are the expert. Your plan is very mature once.”

“You forgot that I was the smartest student in school.”

“You're too much, if the smartest in class maybe I can still take it.”

“I'm reminded of the past.”

I can't get into this conversation. I better just listen to it, besides there is no harm in listening to the conversation of the two of them, who knows I get something good to be an experience.

“Is that all you want to talk about?”

Mr. Febri immediately turned the topic over to the initial conversation. As I expected of Mr. Febri, he's always serious about working. Yep... Worked.

“Yes, for now we get to that stage first. Because this plan is so or not depends on his friend Amar.”

Whoa! I feel a huge burden when I bear it. My shoulders feel heavy.

“How likely is your friend to accept this job?”

Mr. Febri asked me.

“I think a hundred percent if he's not doing another job.”

“Why is it like that?”

Ask Mr. Hari.

“This friend of mine often accepts jobs from other companies as well, so if I had told him when he was doing other work, of course he would have given priority to the work he had paid.”

“Is your friend still the same age as you?”

“Of course.”

“I'm curious what kind of person.”

Said Mr. Hari while drinking his coffee.

“But take it easy, he is currently empty and has no job, besides I have sent him a message if I want to give him a job.”

“I count on you Mar.”

“Good then.”

Pl-please.... The burden on my shoulders seemed to have doubled. Anybody, help me ease this burden.

“What's the matter of you helping us Mar? Does this not interfere with your school?”

“If that you do not have to worry, Amar is used to doing work from me and the value never decreases at all.”

Mr. Febri said that with great confidence.

Well.. What he said was true. Although I often do work from Mr. Febri, but my grades never go down at all.

It's not because I'm smart or anything, because from the beginning I never learned when at home and also I always get average grades only. To get an average grade is also not difficult, as long as you listen to the teacher carefully while teaching in the classroom, I think you can get that average grade without having to study again when you're home.

“You are too exploiting a child under the Bri jellyfish!”

“Children of Amar's age should indeed be honed his ability because at times like this he is developing.”

Then they both argue about the problem. Mr. Hari who said that Mr. Febri too forced me to do his job and also Mr. Febri who said that the young man should be honed his ability not only academics.

While they were arguing, I saw my phone get an incoming call. When I saw it more clearly, it was Riki who called me at that time.

Tumben once Riki calls me at a time like this, does he have a problem?

“I want permission to pick up the phone for a while.”

I also gave permission to the two of them but they are still focused on the debate. I picked up the phone and went outside the cafe.

“Assalamualaikum.”

“Waalaikummussalam, what's wrong with RIk?”

“Where are you Mar now? I didn't find you in the lab.”

“I am now in a South Jakarta.”

“Jakarta South! What are you doing there?”

“I'm being invited by Mr. Febri to meet his friend. He said there was a job he wanted to do with me.”

“Everything is looking for you, they thought you were home because you didn't find you in the lab.”

“Tell others to go home first, it seems like I'm still a long time here.”

“Ok.”

Riki hung up the phone.

I went straight back to the cafe to join Mr. Hari and Mr. Febri. I have also seen that they have not argued and are talking about other things. I sat back in my chair quietly.

“Your house where is Mar?”

Mr. Hari asked me directly about my personal life.

“Di Cibubur Pak.”

“Away through, what did you ride to school?”

“I board Transjakarta.”

“Surely you took the first bus from there.”

“That's.”

“Is there nothing else you want to talk about Ri? Otherwise I want to go home because there is another job I want to do.”

Mr. Febri finished the coffee he ordered.

“You are in a hurry once, even though you have earned a salary from his job as a teacher still you are looking for money again.”

“How else, I am currently raising capital for me to marry.”

Huh! Be married? I think Mr. Febri is the type of person who still wants to enjoy his youth, so he discourages getting married.

“Don't forget to invite me when you get married later ya.”

Said Mr. Hari with a smile to Mr. Febri.

“Of course I'll invite you... Hey Mar! Why are you watching me so much?”

“I did not expect that you would soon be married.”

“You are not very polite Mar, here and there I want to have a family.”

“If I look at your behavior at school, you look like a young man who still wants to enjoy his bachelor. So I was a little surprised when I heard that you wanted to get married.”

“Hahahaha... Where'd you get a student like this Bri.”

Mr. Hari laughed with satisfaction at my words.

“So after this we want what?”

“After this I want to invite you two to go to my old company office. Even though I was bankrupt, but I managed to maintain the office and also the printing press inside. That's why I have to work to pay those debts first. Coincidentally my office is not far from here.”

I became curious how the office form of Mr. Hari. If Mr. Febri said the comics released by his company Pak Hari were famous in his time, he should have a big office, especially around here I only see tall buildings.

No. gabe.. No. gabe.. No. gabe... I can't think of it too high. I don't want my expedition broken because of this.
