Chapter 15: Thousand Islands, I'm Coming!

Finally the awaited time came. Yeah, you guys are right. That thing is a vacation. Because the third class vacationed earlier than the class that was two levels below and we only entered SMK around June, so we still have three months to vacation. It was a very long time considering we usually only get a semester break of two weeks.

Now, I was with nineteen other friends in Muara Angke harbor to board a ship bound for the Thousand Islands. Of course, nineteen of my friends include Riki, Maul, and Rina.

 At first I didn't know why Rina was able to join the trip this time, I heard from Maul that Riki had invited her to come along. But it doesn't matter, as long as the people who participate, the cost I have to spend on this trip is getting reduced, it helps me a lot.

“Everything, we gather first to reorganize its people so that no one is left behind.”

Riki gathers us in the harbor, he is currently holding a paper and pen to record his friends who took part in the holiday this time.

“Mar, I borrow your back.”

“Alright, Mul please hold my bag for a while.”

Maul was reluctant to hold my bag. I think he's already objected to the stuff he's carrying at the moment.

“For a moment, you know that the land around here is a lot of puddles. I don't want my bag dirty because of that.”

“Let me hold your bag Ar.”

Lina also gave her help to hold my bag.

“Thank you, I was very helped.”

I gave my bag to Rina and started to bend down a bit to give my back to Riki as a placemat for writing.

“I started his absence yes!”

After Riki made an absence, we immediately boarded a ship that would later take us to one of the islands in the Thousand Islands. The island we visited this time was Tidung Island.

I do not know why Riki chose the island, but I had time to find it on the internet if the island is one of the tourist destinations from within the country or foreign at this time.

The ship began to walk from Muara Angke port at exactly half-six in the morning, and the morning sunlight was accompanying our journey at this time. Our ship started to move away from the capital of Jakarta and began to walk to the middle of the sea, I could see buildings that slowly began to shrink. The further away we are from the harbor the more it disappears as well as those buildings from our sight are swallowed up by the horizon.

While on the ship, I saw Riki lying limp on the deck of the ship. He seems to have been seasick.

“Oi Rik, are you okay?”

I went up to him and asked him how he was, rarely seeing Riki sprawl like this. It seems that if you want to defeat Riki easily, the only way is only when you are on the ship.

“A-ak-ku ba-aik.”

Riki said something that was not clear at all.

“This I have medicine, drink.”

Maul gives seasickness medicine to Riki.

“...T-teri-ma k-asi-h.”

Riki took the medicine and then took it. After taking the medicine, Riki immediately lay down and tried to sleep. It just so happened that the time it took to get to Tidung island was quite long, so he could rest quite a bit.

“Do you have such medicine?”

“Actually I also have the same disease, but not as severe as Riki. So my mom brought me some for the ride.”

I've never had a vehicle hangover before, whether it's on land or at sea. In the air I don't know, because I've never been on an airplane, so I don't know what it's like.

“Do you want to come with me to enjoy the sea breeze?”

“Not you, I'm better off with Riki here.”

“Alright then.”

I left behind Maul and Riki. I went to a window that was big but had no glass. In that window we can sit there and enjoy the view of the sea with pleasure.

The salty smell and the roaring sound of the ship crossing the waves made the atmosphere of the moment very comfortable to relax. Sometimes I look into the sea to find something. Who knows, I might find something interesting.

“What are you doing here Ar?”

Rina approached me who was relaxing enjoying the soothing sea waves back then.

I didn't exaggerate it, it was indeed very calming. Next time you can try it if you go by boat.

“I'm just relaxing.”

“Only alone?”

Rina was sitting on a bench not far from where I was currently sitting.

“Yesterday I've gone to Cibubur High School to look around there, it turns out it was indeed a great SMA.”

“Of course, many people from our Junior High want to get in there. In addition to the distance not too far from home, Cibubur High School is also one of the favorite SMA in Jakarta.”

“You're right, my friends also praised me when they found out that I could get in there.”

“Excite, although different schools. I will definitely support you.”

“I haven't surveyed there. The plan is that the three of us will be there after coming home from this vacation.”

So he doesn't know that Maul and Riki are also in the same SMK as me.

Rina was shocked and envious after hearing that Riki and Maul entered the same school as me.

“Iya, so we plan to go there together.”

After a long journey, we finally reached the island of Tidung. The island is so beautiful that I did not expect it to be in Jakarta. It feels like this island is in another dimension of the capital city of Jakarta. The lack of pollution and blue sea makes this island very beautiful to visit.

Riki also did his duty as chairman in the holiday event this time. I was still looking around the island to enjoy the scenery back then, I can't wait to get around the island.

Not that I am tacky or anything, it's just that this is what I am like when traveling to a place far from the city.

I think you should feel the same way as me. How not, all day doing exhausting activities and there is not a single sight that you can see except the multi-storey buildings, of course it will make you very tired.

After a re-attendance, we went to our inn with a grown man who rented us his house. The name of the guide was Mr. Budi.

I should have been happy when I arrived at the inn because I was able to rest in peace, but I was currently faced with a very troublesome condition.

“For the last house are Maul, Amar, Rina, Riska, Beautiful, and I.”

Riki handed us the last inn.

“Wait... Wait... Wait... Why should we be mixed with women? Isn't that not good.”

Of course I don't want to if I have to stay with a woman, especially with Rina. I don't know what kind of imagination will cross my mind when I'm with him in one house, but I don't want that to happen.

“How else Mar, only this inn that I get at the cost that we have.”

I should know this, cheap costs will not guarantee that this holiday will run smoothly. There must be something that doesn't suit my will.

We started to get into the inn. The inn is very large for six people to live in, there are two bedrooms, one kitchen, one bathroom, and a living room.

“Rina, Beautiful, and Riska can use this room to put your stuff and rest.”

The girls went to her room to put her things.

“How about our room?”

“We use the other room.”

“Hmmm..”

My attention was diverted to Maul who was silent in front of the television alone. His mouth said something but it could not be heard by me. I think I know what he's thinking. I should have opposed this, I should have found a way to separate the girls from this inn, of course this is for the common good.

The girls came out of his room and now join us in the living room.

“What will we do?”

Riska asked Riki who was putting together the event for later tonight. Riki looks so serious, I rarely see Riki as serious as this.

“Mumpung is still ten o'clock, how about we go around the island first?”

Hmmm.I felt an uneasy hunch from Riki's question. Wait, that's impossible, right? There's no way I'm going to meet Miyuki on this island. It's on the island, you know that.

What made him get to be on the same island as me?

I'd better stay at the inn to avoid it.

“How about you Rina?”

“Hmmm... How ya?”

“Already, let's go together.”

Riska tries to get Rina to come with them.

“I'm coming!”

Maul with very high spirit raised her hand.

“If I'm in the inn only.”

“Why don't you join Ar?”

Lina looked very disappointed when she heard that I didn't go with them.

“I keep the inn alone, anyway I want to rest before doing other activities.”

“Then I'm also at the inn.”

“That's not necessary, you better go with your friends. Stay here again, make the best use of time.”

 I don't want to be alone in the inn with Rina. If you can't let that happen, don't.

“Come everything, let's go around this island.”

They all left me at the inn alone. This is what I have been waiting for, I can rest in peace without needing to be bothered by anyone.

Not long from their departure, Mr. Budi came to the inn alone and immediately approached me who was watching television in the living room.

“What's up Sir?”

“Where are the others?”

“They are going around the island.”

“Oh so, you can help me for a moment no?”

“What help sir?”

“This, it will be tonight he said there is a burning event. You have prepared some fish that you have caught this morning, but the fish is still on the boat. Can you help me take him?”

Huh.It turns out I have to do something troublesome. But at least I can use this precision to get around the island as well.

I also finally followed Pak Budi to a small port commonly used by the people of this island to put their boats, because the average islanders have a profession as fishermen.

Arriving there, I immediately brought two large bags that contained various types of fish.

Mr. Budi looked worried to me who was having trouble lifting the two bags.

“Just calm sir, this is not heavy kok.”

Of course it's heavy, if I can I need someone to lift the other bag.

“After this we go to the house of the Father first yes to put the fish.”

“Yes, because these fish have not been cleaned from the scales and entrails. Let's go tonight to you guys

It turns out that Mr. Budi is also good, I should not give up just because of objections like this. I need to be more excited. Come on, encourage you Amar. Take out all the energy you have.

Me and Mr. Budi also walked to his house which was not far from our inn. During the trip, my eyes could not be separated from the beautiful sea view. The sea looked like it was sparkling because of the reflection from the sunlight, besides that plus every now and then I heard the seagull chirping which made my heart feel very peaceful.

Yeah.very peaceful.

But the peace disappeared when I saw a woman in front of me. That woman is the source of all the problems that will befall me in the future. You're right, that woman is Miyuki. Now he's walking with his friends in front of me right now.

Where else would I go to avoid Miyuki if coming to the island alone would meet her. I wonder what makes us always meet like this.

Miyuki also realized that I was looking at her, our eyes met but I tried to take my eyes off so she wouldn't greet me.

“Hai Amar! What are you doing here?”

It seems my efforts were in vain. I better shut up and not answer.

“Why did you ignore me!”

Miyuki also walked up to me with her irritated face.

“What are you doing here?”

“Of course on vacation, what else is it?”

Hurry up, I don't feel good if I have to make Mr. Budi wait for me.

“No, I'm with my friends.”

“Did Rina also come with you?”

Miyuki looks very happy after hearing that Rina is also on this island. It seems they are close friends.

Miyuki goes and joins her friends. They continued their journey towards the beach.

“I'm sorry Sir has kept you waiting.”

“It's okay, what is your friend.”

“Yeah.. It looks like so.”

We continued our journey to the residence of Mr. Budi. After putting the fish there, I went back to the inn to rest.

“It looks like no one has come.”

I looked into the still empty inn no one was. Riki and the others had yet to return from their streets.

Then I better watch the tv.

“Assalamualaikum, We go home.”

Riki and his entourage arrived at the inn.

“Waalaikumussalam, you have arrived. Where's Maul?”

“She wants to take a walk even longer, it looks like she found something interesting.”

The exhausted-looking Riki immediately went into the room to rest.

“Hei Ar, I met Miyuki with her friends while traveling around the island. Looks like they are also on holiday here.”

Don't tell me Maul went to follow Miyuki. If that's the case, maybe it'll be very bad.

“Oh so..”.

“You don't look surprised at all, do you know?”

Lina looked at me very suspiciously.

“Of course not, I was even here.”

“Iya also yes.”

“Rina! Let's go to the inn next door to play with the others.”

“Come!”

Rina left with the other two girls and left me alone again in the living room. But that's okay, I really need some peace here. Remember that tonight will be a very long night.
