The Winter Promise

The Winter Promise
Chapter 57: Night of the Throne.

Hilal has seen this at a number of points in Indonesia and the government has also announced that tomorrow has entered a new month which indicates that tomorrow is the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Tonight, Riki and I were in the mosque to help Mr. Ustadz. I was told by Mr. Ustadz to help him receive zakat fitrah first. Because tonight there are usually a lot of people who give it up. In the mosque there are also many people who are singing takbir, especially small children.

Rina is also here with several other mosque teenagers to prepare consumption for the people who are there. I have seen so many people carrying torches and gathering in the courtyard of the mosque. The plan is tonight my mosque wants to hold a torch parade around the neighborhood while chanting takbir.

“Mar.”

“Iya Pak Ustadz.”

“Later on the torch parade, you and Riki help others to keep an eye on the kids huh. Because later the march will pass the highway, so there needs to be a lot of people watching him.”

“Good Mr. Ustadz.”

As the torch march went on, as Mr. Ustadz had told him to. Riki and I also watched the children who participated in the event. Riki and I walked beside the line to keep the children from mesh close to passing vehicles.

“Takbiran this time festive also yes.”

I looked into the line where there were a lot of little children holding a torch while chanting takbir. Far ahead there is someone who hits the bed.

“Iya.”

Riki saw with a disappointed look of the person who hit the beduk, because Riki from the beginning wanted to touch it and unfortunately there were other people who did it.

“How are you preparing to go home?”

“Everything is ready, we just leave.”

“Don't forget Mar.”'s souvenirs

“Just relax, I will bring you a lot of souvenirs.”

“Woah, I look forward to it.”

It seems that his disappointment has disappeared.

“Are you going to Mount Galunggung later too?”

Ask Riki.

“Of course, it was already like a place I definitely visited when going to Tasikmalaya.”

“You will definitely want to go to the hot spring.”

Riki looked up while imagining something.

“Iya, because it is very delicious when soaking there.”

“I also want to go there.”

“Then we make plans to go there, later I will invite Maul, Akbar, and also Rian.”

“That's a great idea.”

“You two, you don't always talk. Also keep an eye on his other sisters following the torch march.”

Rina who was behind us rebuked us for seeing us who always spoke at a time like this.

“Siap boss.”

We watched the children again with focus and occasionally talk. But while we were talking, we suddenly forgot ourselves and Rina again rebuked us. So the pattern continued to occur until we returned to the mosque.

“Amar, you're out of this no event?”

I who just arrived at the mosque was immediately approached by Mr. Ustadz. Looking around, it seems like he wants me to do something again.

“No Mr Ustadz, why?”

“You two can help other kids make shaf for prayer id tomorrow?”

“Of course Mr.”

“Then, I ask you please yes.”

Mr. Ustadz also left us to take care of the need for prayer id tomorrow.

Maul and I went straight to the field in front of the mosque. There are already some mosque teenagers who are making lines to be used as prayers later. Riki and I joined them to do the same thing they did.

“What do you think about the app created by Maul yesterday Mar?”

“That app is?... I think it's amazing, the app can make things easier. Even someone who can't hack can do it easily.”

“Why Maul can make such a thing huh?”

“What you are confused about. Indeed, since the first time I met Maul, I have been able to see that Maul has great abilities.”

“Then how did you look when you first met me?”

I think he wants the same answer as Maul.

“You are just as great as Maul. Even then you were famous everywhere.”

Riki was also pleased with the compliment I gave him. It seems like the compliment I gave him worked.

“How do you practice for O2SN later?”

“Everything is under control, just follow the preliminary round held after Lebaran later.”

“Excite, I will definitely support you along with the others.”

“Just relax, I will definitely win that cheesearann.”

We continue our work to make a field line using chalk. Usually this field is used by children to play anything. Riki also pulled a rope from the end of the field to the other end for me to use later as my race in making the line. If it is not like that, it is usual that the line that I make will be able to tilt.

“What later Miyuki will pray id here huh?”

Riki also slightly played the rope he held to eliminate his boredom.

“I don't know, it's possible that Miyuki prayed in the mosque near her home.”

“But as soon as the mosque that is near his house Miyuki never held id prayers, usually residents around RT there id prayers at the mosque here or the mosque near Cibubur Junior High School.”

I just found out that there is a mosque that does not hold id prayers. I guess all mosques must be holding id prayers.

Mr. Ustadz came to us again.

“Oh yes you two tomorrow after the dawn prayer, you immediately use neat clothes for the id prayer. Because I need people to direct pilgrims later.”

“Ok Mr. Ustadz.”

“Syukron then, Jazakallah Khairan Katsiran.”

Mr. Ustadz left again leaving us both, and we continued our work.

“If Miyuki saw this, surely she would be very surprised.”

Riki said as he rolled up the rope he was holding.

“Why?”

“She must have rarely seen you continuously receiving requests from people. Usually you'll reject it and say that it's a hassle. It must be unusual to see you like this.”

“This is a different thing. Mr. Ustadz has taught us religion from childhood until Junior High and he still teaches for the children who are here compared to what Mr. Ustadz has issued, and he is still teaching for the children who are here, it's nothing yet.”

“You must always have a double standard when it comes to issues like this. If only you'd always see other things like that too.”

“Already, quickly we finish this and go rest.”

“Very much food.”

I looked in front of me and there was plenty of food there.

“So there are fathers who provide consumption money for people who are interested here after paying zakat fitrah.”

Said Mr. Ustadz to explain it to me.

“Really? Why don't I know it yes.”

“So the guy came while you were driving around with the others for the torch march.”

“Tumben once there's such a good person.”

Riki also began to eat the food in front of him greedily.

“It was not a strange thing, besides the person who gave the money looked like a Japanese but his Indonesian language was fluent, too, I was so nervous when I talked to him that he didn't understand what I was saying. Fortunately he came with his wife who happened to be my wife's college student, so I

so it's not awkward anymore.”

A Japanese? Are there any Japanese around here besides Miyuki and her family? Lately I have rarely gone to play outside to know that, maybe Riki knows something.

“Maybe it's Miyuki Mar.”

I haven't asked him yet, he has whispered that to me.

“I think you're right, because I don't know who the Japanese are here anymore.”

“It looks like Miyuki tomorrow will salat id here.”

“...”

“Don't forget to use your best shirt Mar.”

“Of course, but I did it because it was a holiday, not because I wanted to meet Miyuki. Just be careful if you spread a strange rumor that is very annoying again.”

“Hahahahahaha..... I know it.”

Riki looked really happy when I was teasing me like that.

“Ar can you ban me for a minute?”

Rina called me to ask for help from me. I went up to him to see what he needed.

“Can you move this rice-rice to warehouse.”

“I'll call Riki to help.”

“No need, let him eat first. I think he's still hungry after driving around and working.”

You think I'm not hungry either.

“Good.”

I also began to move the rice that was there one by one into the warehouse.

“How do you think the torch parade was Ar?”

“Restimated enough, I did not expect that every takberan would have such a festive event.”

“You alone are always at home and not out. If not my brother who told me that you were told by Mr. Ustadz, maybe you are still at home.”

He's not wrong... If Mr. Ustadz hadn't told me to come here at the end of the night, I would have spent some time playing games at home. Moreover, usually the game that I play holds an event at night like this, I can not miss it like that.

“It looks like tomorrow Miyuki will pray id here.”

“I already know it.”

“Where do you know that Ar?”

“Tadi Pak Ustadz said that there is a father who looks like a Japanese person paying his zakat nature here while we are at the torch parade. And I only know that Miyuki is Japanese in the neighborhood.”

“So Miyuki gave me a message. He said he wanted to pray next to me.

We reached the warehouse and Rina opened the warehouse for me because my hands were full with a sack of rice. Once the door was open, I put the rice in there because it was very heavy.

“When did you go home Ar?”

“Lusa mornin I just left.”

“Didn't that day still happen back and forth.”

“How else, both my parents are only on vacation when they leave together.”

“They both are hard workers yes.”

Me and Rina went back to get one last sack of rice and put it in the barn.

“Sip, finally done too.”

“Thanks for the help Ar.”

“Sama-sama”

We returned to join the other teenagers.

“Where are you Mar? Your food I almost finished.”

Riki's mouth still did not stop chewing the food in front of him.

“Rina just asked for my help to lift the rice sack into the warehouse.”

“Tumben once you didn't ask for my help.”

“I was going to ask for your help, but Rina didn't allow it.”

Riki started smiling at me.

“Stop that smile of yours.”

“Hehehe... Did you guys do something in the warehouse there?”

“Mana maybe I did something, let alone this in the mosque. Astagfirullah..”.

We also spent our nights in the mosque together with other teenagers. I went home at one o'clock in the morning, because I had to prepare myself for prayer tomorrow.

When we got home, the house was already dark. All my family seems to have gone to bed. I walked straight to my room to rest for tomorrow. But before that, I also played my phone to see incoming messages during my help at the mosque earlier. Because while in the mosque, I did not pay attention to my phone at all.

I also saw messages coming in from Misaki who invited me to play, and some messages from my friend who said happy holidays to me.

Then my eyes were fixed on a news that appeared under the message of my friends. The news contained a case of teenage kidnapping that occurred in the Central Jakarta area. Out of curiosity, I opened the news and read it carefully. According to my hunch, this news must have something to do with the kidnapping case Maul talked to me about a lot. In addition, the place in Central Jakarta that makes me remember the words of Maul during the lightning boarding school.

And the content of the news I read was almost the same as what Maul said at the time. As I thought from the son of a cop. He must have very accurate information.

But what is my question right now, until when did this happen? And why did his father Maul give this case to Maul? Is there not a single police officer who can handle it?

It's still too weird, I think there's something going on inside the police force itself. Butwhat?

I kept thinking and kept thinking about it. I thought about this in anticipation that I should get involved with this, because if Maul had said that, it would usually have happened. Because Maul was the one who said something after thinking first.

There is only one conclusion I have come to after thinking about it, but I cannot yet one hundred percent believe that it is the truth. I need to see how this case progresses.
