The Sun Becomes a Star

The Sun Becomes a Star
Background Story

When I got home, I went straight to my room. I'm not hungry at all even though I haven't eaten since noon. But to be honest, who could eat in this angry state. In the room, without taking off my jacket and shoes, I immediately cried.

And the – little turtles that are often annoying, without asking anything even directly scolded me.

“Don't say I didn't warn you. I told you already. Guys like that are dangerous guys. He is just the type of guy who wants to take advantage of the weakness of girls – weak girls like you. Everyone in this world has warned you May! You are too stubborn to obey what others say to you.”

“You're wrong Imelda. You haven't even heard my story but you're already angry – temurain me!” I said in between – during my sobs.

“Everything you need to tell May? If you come home with a red face, I am sure nine hundred million percent if you are happy to meet Kevin.” said Imelda without mercy.

“Sister Kevin! She's older!” I said before I buried my face in the pillow again.

“Then I have to join – follow call him Kak that?! You know, in the world of turtles – turtles I am already 60 years old!”

“It is true that you have been 60 years. Your speaking style is like granny - grandma!”

“Because as a Grandmother with millions of experiences I DESERVE to scold you for obeying your folly rather than all the advice I give. Now, remove your tears and remove the snot from your nose and wash your face Little miss, then come again to tell you what happened to you now.”

I follow the words of Imelda. Kura – little turtle always managed to make me do what he wanted, except the problem – problems before, which is related to Kak Kevin this. I understand why he got angry – got angry like this.

“Good Imelda. I'll tell you what happened to me this afternoon,.” I said to Imelda after I did everything she told me to do.

I spoke to Imelda a lot. I said that at first everything seemed so perfect. I've imagined many wonderful events that I will experience. But everything turned in a different direction. It may be true said – said Jell if I can't expect too high on someone so it will hurt so much like this.

“I can sleep now ? Can't stand it?” Imelda struggled with all her might maintaining her half-opened eyes.

“Thanks Mel. I'm going to sleep now, too. Thank you for listening to me tonight” and I see Imelda already snoring smooth. I looked at my HP and found Papa's message that he's not coming home tonight. Papa does not often go home if he has to catch up on the news or write news that he is working on.

Maybe that's best for me right now. If only Papa had seen me cry like this, he would have run over Kevin and Aaron's brother to his house.

I decided to go to bed and that morning I woke up better. Still hurt, but it has diminished a little.

Today, I'm going to tell Jell and Trisakti.

“Tuh khan, what did I say?! If only you would have heard me say so much,” Jell blames me. I feel more guilty. The three of us sat on one of the benches in the school garden. Several large stems of shoe flowers surround this garden.

“Iya sih” that's it out of my mouth.

“Iya anyway, yes, do you think by saying ‘iya sih’ you can change the world of May. Don't be so stupid.”

“Jell !!!” Trisakti almost shouted with sharp eyes towards Jell. Jell then kept silent with the face of the sewot while fanning – digipasi his face with the book he was holding. I wept.

“Already Jell! May has had enough guilt and difficulty with this. A little emphaty has nothing to lose to you. May, you learned one thing. Take yesterday's events as experience.”  Trisakti said softly.

“Not just a Sun experience,” Jell added. “That you experienced yesterday is a sign – signs. Don't you ever wish on a guy like that. I gave you a secret. Never choose a guy you like. Just find the guy who is crazy – crazy with you. Guaranteed, you will not regret.”

“Kata – said you didn't help Jell at all!” Trisakti said again in a soft but firm tone. I'm getting louder crying. Some of the children who passed in front of us looked at the three of us strangely.

“I realize that I look evil in the eyes of both of you. But I'd be very sinful if I didn't warn May.” I cried even harder.

“If I didn't care about you May, I wouldn't have trouble – hard talking this way. But you are my best friend.” Jell added.

“Already May. I have experienced something similar with you.” Trisakti Turn.

“Iya. Although not exactly the same. Look May, everyone in the world has ever felt heartache. If you don't feel hurt, you're not a living, breathing human being. Since you are in contact with other people, you cannot change everything that exists according to your wishes. I'm sure May, by experiencing this you will learn to mature and you will be more wise to look at the world.” Trisakti is twenty years older than her current age. Even I saw Jell staring at Trisakti with a look of admiration. Not many people could impress Jell, and Trisakti was one of them. Me either. Admired by his maturity.

“Trims. I hope you guys promise to keep this a secret.”

Trisakti nodded, Jell did not refuse or agree.

“By the way bus away, what's the guy's name, his brother Kevin,” Jell asked.

“Sister Kevin,”I screamed a little.

“Regular with kaleeeeeeee,” Jell reply sewot.

“Name is Aaron,” I replied a little sewot too.

“Shortly,” Trisakti says. “So he's Aaron and has a big brother named Kevin?”

“Sister Kevin!” I screamed again. Why everyone wants to call him without any frills – embed ‘Kak’.

“Sabar May,” Trisakti stroking – elus my shoulder.

“I remember Papa telling me about one of his friends. Looks like he's talking about Aaron and KAK Kevin,” with heart – Trisakti's heart emphasizes the word ‘KAK’.

“What is it?” Jell was very curious.

“So Mama once told me about one of the family acquaintances. They are a very wealthy family in Malang. One time, they and their family went on vacation on a chartered plane.”

“Wuik, one plane of their own?” my many.

“It. They are not missqueen like us,” Jell replied.

“Yes, quite ironic indeed. No matter how much money you have, it still won't be able to save you from death.”

“So their parents died!?” Jell flaming – fire.

“Iya. The couple was swept away by the ocean after making sure their two children were safe. At that time the oldest was about 17 years old and his sister was 6 years old. Their names are Kevin and Aaron,” Trisakti finished the story.

“Sister Kevin,” I said slowly.

I don't really have a Mama. But at least I don't need to see my mother die in front of me, to save me. I can't imagine living with memories like I've had all my life.

The school bell rang, the first break was over. Together with my two best friends, I went to class for my next lesson.
