The Sugar Mommy

The Sugar Mommy
Rian Yang is Wrong

In the middle of the night Ratih woke up thirsty. He walked into the kitchen to get some drinking water. But Mak Ratih's steps stopped when he found the Judge in the middle room while being confused.

"Kim," call Mak Ratih.

The judge felt called back and looked back. His face turned calmer after facing the mother.

"Well, Mom? Don't you think I'm asleep, are you?" The judge returned his mother's greeting.

"Yes, I've been sleeping since nine o'clock. But I'm thirsty, it's watery" replied Mak Ratih lifting the empty glass in his hand.

"Oh," muttered the mangosteen-mangute Judge.

Mak Ratih went to the kitchen. He approached the Judge who was now stepping near the chair before finally taking a seat there.

"It's late, Kim. You don't want to rest?" tanya Mak Ratih stood next to the son.

The judge nodded slowly. "Not sleepy yet, ma'am," she replied. "In the city, he usually sleeps at night. Sometimes at dawn" he added.

"You don't stay up too much, Kim. Not good for health. You deserve to be thinner," said Mak Ratih.

Between being happy and sad when he found his youngest son back home, Mak Ratih was surprised to find his son coming home with a much thinner body. Mak Ratih had rebuked the young man. But the judge's answer was simply, "Deliberate diet, ma'am. I also exercise regularly, and go to the gym. It looks thinner than usual."

If Mak Ratih can be honest, he prefers the Judge to appear with a body that contains. Do not lose all weight. If the Judge is too thin, Mak Ratih is worried that his son is the victim of bad rumors in this village.

"Try the same story, Mom, Kim. You're thinking something, aren't you?" Mak Ratih took a seat next to the Judge. His hand was on the man's shoulder. "Mother's feeling from the beginning you go home without giving news as usual, makes Mother wonder. Do you have a problem in town? Nothing is hidden from Mother, Son," persuaded Mak Ratih patiently.

"Mommy mean, I deliberately ran from town to village to avoid trouble?" sahut Judge.

Mak Ratih found the look of the Judge's eyes changed drastically. Although the judge did not indicate that he was offended by his mother's words, Mak Ratih was quite sensitive.

He then said, "I'm sorry that I offended you. I just want to make sure Mom's kid's okay." Mak Ratih gave a pause for two seconds. "If anything happens to Mom's children, I hope you're the first one you're looking for."

That instant the Judge's heart slipped. He hurriedly scooped his face violently, tucked guilt into the young man's heart.

"Mom, I'm sorry. I was talking rudely to Mom," the Judge muttered down, grabbed the back of Mak Ratih's hand, then kissed her several times.

The free hand of Mak Ratih patted the top of his son's head. "Mom forgive the Judge. I understand," he said. "But I asked you seriously. Really, you're not in trouble? I don't want you to hold her."

Judge silent a thousand languages. Mak Ratih repeatedly urged the Judge to speak honestly. But the problems the Judge faces are not that easy. Judge needs consideration—even to tell his own biological parents.

Rian finds Elsa and Faqih lying on the bed. Rian had just finished taking a shower and changed his clean clothes.

Elsa glanced at Rian from the tail of her eyes. She learns of her husband's whereabouts, as soon as Rian opens the door to her room.

Rian rubbed his hair using a clean towel. Elsa acted as if Rian did not appear to be her.

Elsa is still upset with Rian. He deliberately silenced Rian, deliberately not inviting the man to talk. Elsa deliberately turned her body to Rian. As much as possible Elsa is lazy to say hello, so Rian became very wrong.

It doesn't work, it's wrong. Not working, more wrong. So, what should Rian do?

"Sa, you haven't slept?" asked Rian sitting on the edge of the bed.

The old bed in their room suddenly creaked as Rian took a seat. Elsa replied, "Not yet." Rian sighed, trying not to get angry.

Rian's hair had dried up completely. He then lay down next to Elsa, looking at his wife's back with a look of nelangsa.

"What am I wrong again, Sa? Tell me what I should be like? Want you what? Don't you want me to have a steady job to survive?" After weighing for a while, Rian also vaporized his teeth. "Yesterday, you get angry with me every day—because I'm unemployed. Even to buy rice we don't have. When I got the job, you didn't even want to talk to me."

Elsa twists her body. She no longer lay on her husband's back. They throw one another with a different highlight. If Rian tries to find answers through Elsa's eyes, then Elsa returns Rian's vexation to him.

"Really, really. I really want you to have a regular job, Mas. But you realize no, anyway? It's not the kind of job I want! Is there no other job? Why should I be a porter in the market? It's not that I take that profession for granted. But, Mom, in this day and age everything is expensive. What do you get from your salary? Maybe to eat everyday is still less!"

Rian said something in his heart. Elsa forgot how to be grateful. Rian knows his salary as a porters in the market is not enough. However, can't Elsa appreciate Rian's struggle? Instead of him coming home with nothing, at least Rian had something he would pass on to his wife.

"Until when the hell are we gonna keep kayak gini, Mas? When?" ask Elsa. "I'm tired, tired! So tired! I'm tired of being accused, I'm tired of hearing you're underrated. I just want to live a normal life like people."

"Me too, Sa," sighs Rian tired. "But for now this is all I can give you. We can start slowly. I'm sure as long as we don't give up, our lives will change."

"Change what, Mom? Whahuh? You always said that too. And what's the result, Mom? Nothing but piling up debt at the stall, loan shark, until I'm sick of being told to keep hiding with you!" amoek Elsa. "Don't teach me to be patient, Mom. Because with me here being the same as you, it proves I'm staying patient."

Elsa's patience has its limits. You cannot be asked to be patient every day. For years. Elsa is also an ordinary human who can complain, and protest.

"If you're serious about changing, Mom. You will find a decent job, one that can change our fate. Not even a hip porters!" elsa Umpat.

"Sa, you realize not what you're saying? So, what do you ask me to work for? Office people? Or what?" In the end Rian's anger was provoked as well. "Remember, Sa. I am not a part of highly educated people. I'm just a grade-school graduate if you forget," Rian later said.
