Ren and the devil

Everyone's out of the arena except Ren and Jovan. Both have not moved a bit. Julius who saw Ren from the edge of the arena looked worried. Ren had never used magic before but he could suddenly use magic let alone dual elements.

A sword appeared in Jovan's hand. He made a sword with the remaining magic. The two of them struck each other and pitted swords. Jovan raised his sword and aimed for Ren's neck. With one move Ren managed to hold his sword and push Jovan with his sword. Jovan is pushed and loses his balance but he manages to survive.

"Don't be arrogant, man!"

This time it was a straight attack that was aimed at Ren's chest. However, with one move Ren dodged and when the opportunity arose, Ren slashed from the bottom up so that one arm of Jovan was cut off.

"Suckers.. when only .. humans."

Jovan immediately jumped back and kept his distance.

"This is the end for you."

Ren walked over to Jovan to close the distance. One step. Two steps. Ren's third step stopped, all curious about him. Instantly Ren knelt down and started coughing.

Ren looked at the blood on his hands. The one who saw that, was surprised that Ren had already reached his limit. They were about to help Ren but Ren seemed to not want to be helped.

"So you've reached your limit, huh? Then this is the end for you!"

Jovan jumps up and starts attacking from the top, Ren manages to hold back his attack but Jovan forces and continues pushing his sword until Ren starts to get exhausted.

His breath was breathless and he coughed up blood. The fire on his blade became bigger and Ren exerted all his strength. Little by little Ren's sword inched upwards.

"Yyyyyyyyyyy!"

Jovan's sword is thrown away and Jovan is knocked over. Ren immediately stood up from his kneeling position and made strange horses. Only Clovis was startled and stood up quickly after seeing Ren's position.

"Position then...!"

his right foot took a step back, his sword in his right hand was pulled back, his shoulders lowered slightly and eyes focused forward.

"Stop Ren!"

Clovis shouted in warning. Everyone outside the arena heard Clovis' warning and immediately ran towards Ren. However, they are late.

The lightning that surrounded him moved to the sword and formed a vortex on the sword. Jovan who was about to run could not leave because he was too afraid of what was in front of him.

"Slash."

Lightning and fire united on the sword and released it forward. His attack leads Jovan up into the sky and explodes with a loud voice along with Jovan's agonizing scream.

Ren who had run out of magic, fell down and his consciousness had already disappeared. All immediately run to the arena and rescue Ren.

I opened my eyes slowly.

Where'sisthis? Is this a health room?

My head hurts and I seem to be in the academy's health room. I remember when I unleashed the magic I just thought of and flew Jovan away. After that, I don't remember.

It seems like the right choice to limit mana in my body but it seems like this is too much. I lost consciousness after using a lot of mana. If it wasn't for me restricting this enormous mana of mine then an attack like that wasn't a big deal but I guess people would be suspicious.

Right after I realized, I heard the sound of footsteps. The curtains covering my bed opened and the figures of father, mother and Nia appeared.

"How are you feeling?"

"Young master, are you okay?"

It seems I made them worry but it seems like dad looks angry.

"Ren, that one..."

Gawat, is he angry because I hid my strength? No, I'm sure that's not why I'm angry.

"Sorry, I..."

"Ren, I'm glad you could use magic."

Eh?

"I think .. by concentrating power it can defeat it quickly."

Dad's hand went up, I think he's gonna slap me. I closed my eyes as I was preparing to be slapped, but I was surprised by my head being pulled.

"Dumbass boy. You could've died if you forced yourself like that."

He hugged me and started crying. Well, it's just a regular headache and it's not a big deal but I guess I'm making a lot of people worry. To be honest, I didn't want to use that power because it was too flashy but I was forced to do so out of annoyance with my brother. I thought she would trust me as her sister but when she was being a Sword Saint to me she was just a stubborn person.

"Sorry dad, I had to do it..."

I feel guilty for them.

"It's okay, Ren."

"Young master.as long as you're fine then it's enough for us."

I'm glad they're paying attention to me. I am glad I have a good family.

"Alright, it looks like the kingdom will reward you for defeating the devil."

Dad stood up and said about the award.

"I don't want to."

It's troublesome. I don't want to be a hero because if people know me then my identity as Noir can be revealed.

"I thought you'd say that."

As expected of my father. But I'm sure people will panic so there has to be someone who receives that award to dispel the fear of the population.

"Give it to Julius."

"You sure?" Ask mother.

"I don't like anything flashy like that after all Julius is a prince so I'm sure people will be calmer if he's the one receiving the award."

The three smiled and I'm sure they must have thought "this is how it is, Ren."

The three of them went and talked to the kingdom about this incident. But in this way I can guess who is the mastermind who tried to kill me.

I think they suspected me of being Noir so I guess I should be careful in my actions.

As I was thinking about that, the door opened and Julius and the others came in crowds. Yukari immediately jumped up and hugged me.

"Rin! I'm glad you're okay."

"Ooh...! Sorry to make you worry."

They smiled and saw me okay. Fortunately thanks to the magic I took from the hydra I have the regeneration ability thanks to it. But I try not to show it.

"Ren, that one..."

Julius became serious and curious, I'm sure it's about my strength that I showed before.

"Ah.. I seem to be pushing myself too much." I smiled awkwardly.

"That's not what I asked. Can you use magic? especially two elements..."

Ah, so that's what he asked.

"I was surprised too. I felt like power was flowing so I tried to use it."

Everyone looked at me in disbelief. I don't think that was the right answer.
