Chapter 34.

After traveling for about half an hour, Dion and Maura arrived at the hotel building where the event was to take place.

Both were warmly welcomed by the employees who had arrived. In addition, many important guests were specially invited to enliven the event.

Now that the show has begun, Dion goes on stage to give a speech. Not to forget, he also introduced his wife to all the guests in the room.

For a moment, the sound of applause rumbled inside. Everyone looked towards Maura. No one thought that the handsome boss was already married. Moreover, the beauty of his wife made all eyes clench in admiration.

After giving a speech, Dion went down and the launch of a new product began. Dion sat on the VIP bench with Maura, there was Bima who accompanied the two.

The event went smoothly, even their products began to be a warm conversation among business people who attended. There are also interested in applying for cooperation contracts for ordering products in large quantities.

After the event, important guests approached Dion's table in turn. One by one they congratulated him on his success. Not only that, they also congratulated Dion's marriage which took place a few months ago.

Out of the many guests present, a large tall man was now approaching. It made Maura jump in shock, her eyes were rounded with her mouth slightly gaping.

Suddenly the look on Maura's face changed in an instant, fear came back to haunt her. Even his legs started shaking to the point of shaking all over his body.

"Congratulations on lauching his latest product, it looks like this product will sell hard in the market" said the man as he extended his hand towards Dion.

"Thank you,"

Dion rolled away his smile and shook the man's hand. But at that moment Maura moved away and disappeared without Dion noticing.

Now that the room had begun to quiet, one by one of the invited guests had said goodbye and left the location. Dion finally realized that his wife was no longer beside him.

"Mom, have you seen my wife?" asked Dion while frowning his brows.

"It looks back," replied Bima who had seen Maura's movements at a glance.

Without waiting for long, Dion immediately followed Maura backwards. But when his feet stepped into the toilet area, suddenly his steps stopped hearing the sound of Maura talking to a man.

Dion gritted his teeth firmly, his clenched hands tightly restraining the jealousy that was quickly eating away at his heart. But with all his heart he held himself back from getting close. He wondered what they were talking about on the other end.

"Go away, don't bother me!" maura's increasingly frightened snapped face to face with the man.

"I beg Maura, please forgive me! I'm really sorry." urged the man to apologize.

"Sorry is not enough to atone for all your sins against me. You don't even know what I went through after that." snapped Maura who was now beginning to hold back her cries.

"I know I was wrong, I'm really sorry. I've been looking for you all this time, but I don't know where you are. Your father didn't give me permission to see you, I just wanted to apologize for all my past sins." insisted the man.

As the man approached and grabbed Maura's hand, Maura shouted hysterically while brusquely clasping the man's hand. His face grew pale with his body shaking violently. Her lips cupped against her sobs.

Dion could not stay silent to see his sobbing wife. He rushed up to the two and quickly raised his fist until the man fell on the floor.

"Fuck! How dare you bother my wife." - snapped Dion, she grabbed the man's collar and beat him blindly.

"Sir Dion, that's enough!" maura said, she grabbed Dion's hand and wrapped her hand around her husband's waist.

"Why are you defending him, what's the connection between you two huh?" tanya Dion raised her tone.

Maura hugged Dion's body tightly, her tears growing uncontrollably considering the man's treatment of her a few years ago.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bother your wife. I just want to apologize, all this time I've always been haunted by guilt." explained Adit, the man who had incised wounds in Maura's life.

Adit got up from the floor while holding his face which still hurt from Dion's punch.

Dion tightened his jaw strongly, he stared intently at Maura's face asking for an explanation.

"Who is he, what has he done to you?" dion asked with heightened emotions.

"In, she...,"

"Is he that guy?" cut Dion connect Maura's words.

Maura nodded slowly, it made Dion's blood boil even more. Without thinking, Dion released Maura's hand which was coiled around his waist, then raised his fist hard until Adit was again lying on the floor.

"Fuck! After what you did to my wife, now you still dare to show your nose in front of her huh." grumbled Dion who was increasingly ignited emotions.

"I know I'm wrong, just hit me with all your heart! But please forgive me, I'm really sorry." said Adit, he grabbed Dion's leg and bent his head apologizing.

Seeing that, Maura fell silent for a moment. He was still angry, vengeful, even disgusted to see Adit's face. But he also could not hold that grudge for the rest of his life, he wanted to escape the dark shackles that once ensnared him.

"Rise! I forgive you, but after this never see me again!" maura said releasing the burden on her heart.

Adit took his hand off Dion's leg, he got up and thanked him repeatedly. Now that his heart had been relieved after getting an apology from Maura, he then passed leaving Maura and Dion both there.

Dion scrunched his forehead, he did not understand his wife's current line of thought. How could Maura so easily apologize for a mistake that had left her tormented for so many years.

"Are you crazy, why just forgive him?" tanya Dion raised her tone.

Maura again hugged Dion's body tightly. She knows her husband won't be that easy to let go of Adit, but she's sure Dion can accept his decision.

"I promised you I'd forget everything. And this is the only way I can get out of those shackles."

"He's sorry, it's time I freed my heart. I want to start my new life with you, only with you." Maura replied.

"You sure?" ask Dion to make sure.

Maura nodded slowly, she was completely convinced by his decision this time around. There is no point in holding that grudge for a long time. It would only hurt her and those around her.
