The Sended's

The Sended's
Chapter (-): We have come Far

The story begins in the year 3000 where only the Gods know what really happened at that time

Since even the races that have survived to the present cannot know the truth of their ancestors, this secret will continue to be hidden forever if the girl does not demand the truth from the God.

A great calamity appeared on the face of the earth, as predicted by various beliefs, the Apocalypse has come. And it came a long way in the future after Ryuu's departure, but only a few years after Maou's departure

People who have bunkers choose to go in there and close their entrances and exits

But a scientist chooses a different path. He put a robot with highly advanced artificial intelligence into his bunker, then he turned the robot on from outside the bunker

He made sacrifices so that his creation could live, and fortunately he succeeded this time

"Wake up and rise up, my son Abraham...."

There is a book said, when the sky is clear but it rains, it will form a seven-colored arch line that appears above the sky. It was our childhood, which saved us from the human condition of today

In fact, there was only acid rain that was too strong, and no more clear skies

We humans who live in a world like this, are not actually trying to win. Rather than just trying to live a little longer, waiting until one race or another kills us for being on their way

A few years ago, when I was just able to remember something and our residence was not yet in this cursed cave, I was instead presented with the first scene that was very terrible and made me realize

Elves with all their magic fleets in the sky, the superior race seemed to be nothing when faced with a dragon

The blaze burned down almost all the Elf-owned airplanes and the forest that was originally dead is now burning, as well as our houses made of wood

Forcing us to enter the cave was actually forbidden by our ancestors, but it was not like we had other options

And I am here, bestowed upon Kelfia the most difficult role, leading the expedition, but I also play the leader of the progressive group

"Kuro, wakeup!"

Opening my eyes, I was in a room - whether it was worth it or not - but this was still my room

Like ants, we live in the hills with caves out of nowhere. It is said that our ancestors emerged from the cave, which appeared only two generations ago

It was only about 150 years old compared to those Elves and Dragons that might have lived hundreds or thousands of years since this world was formed. Even this world itself is named after them, Kelfia

Of course I am very envious of those who live at high altitudes while we creep in the ground, just because they were born and studied the world first makes them master it easily

"Hoi Kuro, do you hear me?"

Right, I'm the one named Kuro

"Yes, I'm awake" I replied

That girl named Rize, she's my sister and my only family left. I will protect her no matter what happens, even if I have to fight Elves and dragons

"Have you forgotten there will be a gathering today? You're the chairman...."

"Yes I remember, I'll get ready first,"

"Then I'll just bring your breakfast here to make it faster,"

"Thank you,"

Actually what should I do.... Damnit damnit! Isn't there something we can do to make the situation better?

I undressed and washed my face to be fully conscious, but no matter how much I washed, the world would never change. It is still a world too harsh for us

What is the purpose of our life really? If only to be trampled like this?

The noble goal that the ancestors said was also just a mere joke, which there was even more we retreated backwards

"It's your breakfast - What are you doing?!"

Whahuh? Ah, I'm naked

"It's my room, it's only natural that I'm like this,"

"Forget that! Put your clothes on!"

He came out before slamming the fragile door hard enough, but he also knew that a door like this was hard to get, you know....

I put on my clothes as Rize said, then I put this rough towel over my head to dry my hair. Only after that did I eat the breakfast given by Rize

Only hard bread and salt are obtained from the hills

Many theories emerged about the underground pond that became the source of our life, the pool that can also be used as salt

The most popular is that this hill ground filters acid rain from all the harmful stuff in it, leaving behind water and salt. Maybe because of that there are also a few people who are mildly ill due to consuming water and salt from the pool

But no problem, few victims for the noble cause they say. It was also not to the point of taking lives, or at least maybe just for now

"Have you?"

"Ah. yes, already,"

I left my room without any reluctance, but my activities were far more outside than inside

As the leader of the progressive group, I did have to attend a meeting held on that mutual agreement. Now that Rize and I are heading to the meeting room, she is also a senior....

Perhaps the word was too exaggerated, being a top brass was the last thing a human like us wanted to achieve. This office is a nightmare for those who really know the circumstances

Rize is the leader of the agricultural group, he who provides food for all people. I'm sure it's a difficult task

"Sister Rize!"

A few steps after we left the house, a lot of kids started crowding him. He is quite popular among them, because of Rize's good nature and easy to play with

"Sister Kuro too, let's play together,"

"I'm sorry but there's an important meeting" I replied at the boy's invitation

He looks sad to hear it

"It's okay, later after the meeting is over, I promise I'll play with you guys, meet me in the fields huh,"

"Good!" Answer them simultaneously

Toying around or not, the fact is we have never lacked food since Rize took over the job. I can't blame him for this, I let it go

Continuing our steps, it can be seen if this residence is not quite regular. There are some rooms whose function is still unclear, unfortunately I can not directly use it. We need to make decisions with leaders

Even so, most of the room has been used with a clear function. For example, where to stay, and where to eat

I hope it will only get better, not the other way around. If it continues like this, at least we can survive for decades to come, the rest can be thought of later by my generation or the next

"Are there no obstacles in the food problem, Rize?"

"Nothing serious, it's just that some plants are dead. It is a trivial matter, every season there must be something like that" he replied

"Then how are you? Wasn't the expedition group the group with the fewest members? Can you handle it?" Ask Rize

Of course our group was the least, almost everyone was afraid of the outside world. It's ingrained from our ancestors maybe, they also I think long enough to be underground, sheltering from something I don't understand

"Yes, but if a lot of it doesn't make it any easier, there'll be more problems, too,"

We finally arrived in front of the meeting room

This room has a door that is bigger than the others, inside it is much wider, about ten times my room earlier. This is where all the decisions about our lives are made

I opened the door, and saw those who led our race to an uncertain future. I'm one of them

Part progressive group, part conservative. Or in other words.Young groups like me, and groups of stubborn old people.

They were sitting opposite each other because of this difference, I was certainly sitting on the progressive side, as was Rize

"We'd better start this meeting, because you think time is precious, right?" Said one of the old men across the street

"First, report,"

Construction problems seem to experience obstacles because the tools we use have been damaged and some are destroyed, this is related to material problems as well

The iron mines in the cave below had collapsed a few days ago, to clear the ruins required a week or so without that equipment

"When was the last time you went on an expedition, Mr Kuro?"

"Ten days ago, I'm sure in the previous meeting I've clearly reported,"

Those old fellows, they never listen to us huh?

"The scout team found the Orc ship that crashed near this hill a few hours ago,"

"What?! So that was the source of the vibration, huh?"

Eh? What vibes? Did I miss it because I was asleep?

"Right, but we don't know the obvious cause" replied the chief of the reconnaissance squad

"Oh-oh, you don't have to find out, because that's the expedition team's job,"

"As per my report, we lost some lives in the previous expedition and before that again, I need additional people if I want to explore the outside world again" I explained

"You're just afraid to get out!"

One of the old men couldn't help himself, my fate for being in this nursing home was that they could only scream and blame as if they were the truest.

"Sir, you just cough when drinking water from the pool of life, try occasionally dripping acid from out there into your stick, see what happens" I replied

"Damn it!"

While the progressive group chuckled a little at my words

"I'm not going out until there's an extra person in my squad" and it's not negotiable

"How much do you need?"

"Five people would be enough, though I think it would be difficult to explore an Orc ship that is still unfamiliar to us,"

"Your crew of six from the construction department, take some samples of the ship so that it can be examined as equipment,"

It will prop up my squad to rise up, I will approve his offer even though it is very risky to take the part of the ship that just fell, let alone the ship that we do not understand

But is it really worth it?

"Well, I'll get ready soon,"

"Kurus...." Rize, he looks worried

"Next, Miss Rize,"

"Ah, the food problem is nothing serious. We're going to do the harvest this week, only a few plants are dead,"

After it was done, several people immediately came out including me and Rize. Most of them are progressive young people

You see, conservatives like to get together, I don't like that at all. If there's something to talk about, they should talk openly, why keep to themselves?

But indeed, somehow we have also come this far thanks to their generation. For that I will not be stubborn, I am very grateful
