Chapter 20: An Empire to Lead

Ryuu manages to destroy the Yui clan's power on coalition-owned land and keeps his promise to Funomiya Asagi

Now it is Funomiya's turn to pay the debt because it has asked Ryuu for help

"So, what are you asking us?" funomiya asked directly when the meeting took place

Accompanied by Kyouka, Ryuu heads to Hotaru's fortress to negotiate the payment

There he met some leaders of coalition clans like the Riku and Shizu clans, as well as Asagi

"Hmmm, actually I am still confused by what I want to ask for, too" Ryuu replied

In a large room, in the middle there is a rectangular table. There was only one seat on each side of the width, this seat filled Ryuu and Funomiya

While the long side has several seats, these seats are occupied by coalition clan leaders and Kyouka who is on the right side closest to Ryuu

"What if the coalition is just mine?" ryuu said as he pointed his index finger

"Are you kidding me!?" shouted the great man of the Shizu clan leader

"That's right, where might we want to give up the territory we've taken care of ourselves for granted, if so why should we hand it over to Oda when Yui wants it too, after all they have a greater chance," said the little girl of clan leader Riku

Ryuu regained his calm and seriousness in this meeting, he closed his eyes and breathed lightly

"Then, what if I declare war on you guys just now like the Yui clan?" ryuu asked as he opened his eyes slowly, making pressure in the room

"Damn it!! Do you think you can defeat the coalition forces!!" shizu clan leader shouted back while hitting the table and standing up

"And why do you think that I, the one who destroyed the main army of the Yui clan cannot defeat you guys? Oda's army is outside the fort, why not try it immediately?", Ryuu replied to the statement

"Please calm down you two, I need to listen to Ryuu's plan when he gets what he wants" Funomiya said

The leader of Shizu sat back down and listened to Ryuu speak, saying,

"Why is that a question? Of course I will re-establish the Empire," Ryuu replied with a smile

The entire room was shocked to hear this, not even Kyouka who was on Ryuu's side

"The coalition has a good economy to be a great resource of the empire, the Yui clan has a large territory as well as modern weaponry, then Oda has me,"

"Empire huh?" said leader Shizu

After a moment of silence, someone finally answered Ryuu's statement

"It's interesting once, but the Yui clan hasn't even been defeated, when you manage to do that then our Riku clan will be the first clan to join the Empire,"

"I agree, it's better this way than to be conquered by Yui, the Asagi clan is ready to unite with the Empire,"

"Damn you all, the Shizu clan will also join,"

One by one the other coalition clans agreed to rebuild the Empire that had been destroyed only when Ryuu proved himself capable of becoming Emperor through war, even though they themselves destroyed this empire

Finally, that day, part of the Ming territory was now in the same coalition to defeat the Yui clan

Ryuu himself was appointed as the great General of the Yamato Coalition, the name Ryuu gave him

It didn't take long until they managed to defeat the Yui clan, only about 2 months according to what Ryuu told Kyouka before. Now all the clans who made promises with Ryuu must keep them

Riku, Shizu, and Asagi as well as the initial coalition all agreed to join, this made the Southern and Central regions of the Ming continent united under the banner of the Yamato Empire

However some clans in the North chose to break the promise and create their own coalition, Ryuu destroying their troops mercilessly but pardoning their territory

Peace ensued within the Ming territory which now belonged entirely to Ryuu, these were the times when Ryuu was not as useful as the Emperor of war

"Ryuu, since peace has been established, what should I do?" ask Kyouka in the new capital

Ryuu smiled in response to Kyouka's question,

"Via Romana" said Ryuu slowly

Via Romana is a term that means the Roman road, but it has a deeper meaning

In the centuries before the time of the Common Era until their collapse, Rome made a series of roads to connect the capital of Rome to the rest of its territory as the region itself developed

To support the military on such a large land, it takes a very long road for soldiers to go through so there is no need to pass through certain fields

This road is made with a very minimal turn, also made somewhat convex so as to avoid puddles
